I am used to things being a mess here EVERY time there is any sort of holiday or event, but this year things have gone from bad to worse. This is a reflection of the care and effort that went into planning the holiday and another display of how much users are appreciated. I am sick and tired of being treated like a doormat.

cron didn't reset and it takes half the day for a fix (some users are just outta luck for questing)

usual event-related site lags/crashes -- after 10 years this simply shouldn't happen anymore at all

pumpkin patch is closed -- so much for all the cool stuff

"new" achievements require retired items

ToT gives us tons of common junk from previous years, little of the new stuff. If this is because the patch is closed, at least make the old stuff that is handed out be things required for achievements and/or hard to get. Not the stuff that was already flooding user shops before the event began.

ToT times changed to twice an hour. For any members who work, are new (and need to "catch up") or anyone who doesn't already have almost everything Morostide related, or even those users who simply don't spend every waking moment here -- good luck getting all of the goodies. If enough of us complain they might lower the times so people can ToT three times an hour instead of twice. That is still too long of a wait for people who have lives.

This past year, I increasingly feel that the site caters to only the older power users who already have several advantages. They don't need to handicap new users too. At this rate, I will be spending much less time here than in previous years. If the Morostide challengers don't show up, I will simply quit altogether.

The reason why ToT gives our old items is because ToT usually gives our old items. Not just new ones. Also, a lot of the 2013 items were incredibly expensive still.

There is the word "achieve" in achievements, you can't just have all achievements just handed to you. Some of them are rare and I like these way more than let's say the complete breakfast one because all of these are tot items. We don't have retired cash shop items in there (JUDGING YOU, BENTO CUCUMBERS)

For things like the rag dolls, i am sure people are going to lend full sets really quickly. For things like food items, I managed to buy all of the ones for the sugar high achievements, except the ones released this year. These achievements are more than possible. It's not at the level of "win 10 000 sp at random" hard.

We were all newbies and we worked HARD to get where we are. I remember when having ONE Snowflaik was a symbol of ultimate richness.

The pumpkin patch being closed is probably part of a plot. It was pointed out in the news post for a reason. They didn't just forget about it or something jfc

And if there hadn't been a problem with the ToT wait times at the beginning, I feel like there would be at least less of an uproar that they're now back to normal.

Maybe I can help with some of these! Bear in mind I am not a UA and this is just me :D!

1. Cron didn't reset and that was unfortunate. It is also unfortunate that programmers are not always on. I assure you that once they were aware of the problem, they were working to fix it. I know that when I reported it, it was around 7 in the morning (10 for me on the east coast) where a large chunk of people are who can fix it. Manually resetting isn't always as easy!

2. Other than the downtime that cause the cron not to reset, I thought that everything had gone relatively smoothly? I haven't seen too much lag or anything.

3. Rah explained on the other board that they have been working as hard as they can on the items for the event. There are almost what 150 items for ToTing that are new? That is a HUGE amount of things already. Tie into that the fact that some are wearable! I think that is amazing that we have that much this far.

4. Users were asking for new achievements and we didn't have a lot of collecting ones from previous years so odds are there will be things that are from past years. Besides...ToTing is giving out older things as you said and that helps too!

5. I have gotten a LOT of new stuff. More than 50% new for me I'd say! It is a luck of the draw thing really!

6. A board was made about the 20-30 limits and the times were reduced. They were never meant to be 5 minute increments in the beginning. But the good news is that it is 10-15 minutes and the fast pass brings it to 5.

Then keep your eyes on me. I really mean it. The BC battle-bonanza is the last thing I'm looking forward to, so if they take that away there will be nothing left that I want to do here.

I don't understand all the immediate complaining about this event. As an older user without a 'power base', I see the rollout of this event as very smooth and the achievements as very achievable. (Do you mean sp? Items? Knowledge of how these things go? Everyone was a newbie once, seriously. Most 'newbies' surpass me within a year.) I've seen years where one can't even log in without crashes, much less participate in the event. The recent state of events has been a true improvement.

Very few items are actually 'junk' in the grand scheme of things and I don't see any of the older TOT items as junk. Food is great for my pet Pignite, plushies/beanbags are awesome to me because the higher I can get my account worth, the more satisfied I feel, toys are pretty cool too, and wearables are my obsession. Maybe I'm just a positive consumer though. I just don't feel like I need to get only new items all the time.

I have the sneaky feeling the Subeta team is planning something AWESOME with the Pumpkin Patch. After all these years, I feel excited and not in any way angry that it isn't open yet. IT'S ONLY BEEN A DAY. Seriously people, breathe and relax. It's a game.

Edit: I forgot to mention stickers. Who doesn't love spooky-themed stickers? They are great for interaction and I love sticking newbies and other collectors. I just don't understand the negativity.

I just don't understand why you think that because they haven't announced the Morostide battle aspect of the event within the first 24 hours of the event, that means it's not going to happen. Your entire thread seems like a very premature overreaction.

Especially since battling was always released around the 20th-ish or so.

It's typical. Sometimes the cron is stuck in the toilet, too much party is too much and well .. I'm not even throwing tables about the site anymore.

For one, there have been a few lags here and there, but that's normal for a site that's experiencing a surge in hits/users - and for Subeta specifically, it's a huge improvement over past holidays. Like, an EPIC improvement.

The cron didn't reset, ok that stinks. But that happens sometimes during normal days? And I don't understand why people can't comprehend that it has to be reset manually, and that the people who reset it are normal people who go to bed at night and wake up at normal times in the morning. I'm sorry that you think someone should be calling Keith on his super-secret emergency 911 Subeta cell phone at 4am because the cron didn't reset and you can't do your Shinwa quest, but that's not considered a dire site emergency, and it can't be reset until people wake up. Remember, the staff is pretty much all American, and Keith and Ariel specifically are West Coast, so they are three hours behind Subeta time.

The pumpkin patch isn't just closed like too bad so sad, I'm pretty sure there's going to be some sort of activity regarding that, or it wouldn't have been featured in the News Post the way it was. So don't get discouraged about that yet! :D

And as for the Morostide challengers, they literally would not do that XD It's one of the biggest battling events of the year and there's no way they would just cancel it, haha. They know we love it, lots of the staff really enjoy it too! It just happens a bit later.

Me too. I absolutely wouldn't mind if the old stuff was old old and not last year old though. Apparently my past self didn't care much and it's come back to bite me in the ass.

In addition to my other post I have to say: I've been getting like 75% new items from TOTing. Its all based on luck. Nothing in this life is 100% guaranteed or obtainable, but Subeta gives everyone a pretty fair chance.

idk, I was thinking earlier that the rate of new stuff vs old was way better than it has been in previous years. I've gotten quite a few of the new items and items that I didn't manage to snag last year. Maybe it's just luck?

I'm also kind of glad that they increased the time between ToT'ing. Although I was enjoying all the items, I was starting to wonder if there would be any point in ToT'ing for more than a few days.

Staff has been hinting for some time now about a possible plot this Morostide, since we've really never had one before. I'm guessing the Pumpkin Patch being closed has something to do with that.

However, I do really think they should release the Hyno-Monocles sooner rather than later with the TOT times being longer again. It would suck to only have a couple of chances per hour to ToT and then have 2/3 of those times result in a hex.

I feel like this is premature. For, basically all the reasons already stated. If anything I'm rather impressed with the pretty new ToTing items and I'm pretty excited for whatever is causing the pumpkin hold up, and I'm surprised the site is actually more or less stable (it had some fierce lag yesterday evening but usually the site is dying or dead from day one so that's still an improvement.

My only gripe is the reward card, which isn't actually related to Morostide at all so, idk. Even then, yay morostide~~

.... and tbh I have s feeling the challengerd are going to bring dramaticd regardless if they appear or not xD! The Shrieks were officially retired last year, so while I'm curious about what will replace them I'm sure the reaction will be... something.

The Protective Sage works against hexing too and is in the MC now

I don't get the complaining, especially about the Pumpkin Patch being closed. (Obviously it's closed for a reason, and unless they decide to get rid of it entirely, which I don't see why they would do that, it'll be back.) I mean Morostide hasn't even been on for a full twenty-four hours yet, and it lasts until the end of the month.

And I don't understand how anything about this Morostide, or the site in general, "handicaps" new users and/or caters to old users. Everyone was new once and had to start at the absolute bottom with absolutely no understanding of events or event items, or achievement progress. My start wasn't all that long ago and it was also not all that difficult, either, even though I joined up right in the middle of Masquerade - and even though I "don't spend every waking moment here".
