I've always felt like the sage was a little pricey for the newer or average user, but you're right, if they don't bring back the monocle, it's nice there's some alternative.
But it's only day two of Morostide. : |

A nightmare? This seems like a huge overreaction. It's only been a day, chill. Plenty of achievements require older/retired items. I don't see how that's a bad thing. People that are dedicated to the collections deserve to be rewarded, don't you think? Heaven forbid we reward long time users! And it's fairly obvious that the pumpkin patch is closed for a reason and highly likely plot related.
Well the whole thing about achievements... not every achievement needs to be handed over. It's more fun and rewarding to actually work for them. Maybe older retired items will be given out later in the event? Who knows.
And even if they aren't, no one said that everyone needs to have every single achievement right off the bat...
I'm sorry you're so frustrated - hopefully you can still enjoy the event.

Honestly I believe there is a bit of overreacting. The event has not even gotten into full swing yet. Yeah, the cron didn't reset and that is unfortunate. I'm sure it didn't happen on purpose. As for lag and site implosion, it isn't as bad has it once was. I remember when during events it was nearly impossible to get on the site during the first few days at all. I understand ToTing is frustrating with the long waits and not getting the exact items you want (rag dolls to me are the most pain in the ass) but that's all luck of the draw. And I've never seen the challengers released on the first couple of days.

Anyway, I think it's pretty obvious the pumpkin patch is closed at the moment due to an upcoming plot/event of some sort. Hence the reason it's closure was already mentioned twice in the news, less than 24 hours after Morostide started.
I also don't see how Subeta would be treating a player 'like a doormat' because some of the ToT items are from previous years, the pumpkin patch isn't open yet etc. To treat someone like a doormat, the person would have to be gaining something at the expense of the victim with no returned favor, and I really don't see what sinister behind the scenes things Subeta would gain from releasing old candies???
please don't laugh, I like to cling to the notion that Keith actually has a super-secret emergency 911 Subeta cellphone XD Kind of like the red phone on the US President's desk? I like to imagine that's why sometimes things go wrong at 3am and we have to wait it out and sometimes things go really wrong at 3am and Keith pops on within 2 minutes and takes the site down to fix it - the super-secret emergency 911 Subeta cellphone is only to be used in situations of dire emergency XD
[edit]
Or maybe it's just a ringtone, idk... technology is pretty advanced since the days of the Cold War :P
Maybe shines the Subeta signal into the night, and Keith has to snap into action as soon as he sees that Kumos-shaped beam of light in the sky? The days we have to just wait it out for him to come online are the days there's not enough cloud cover to shine the Subeta signal off of.
lolol that would definitely be a good backup if cell service was down XD
overreaction/10.
"pumpkin patch is closed" from the first announcement, if u been here long enough, should scream plot to u lol
yea achievements made me sad. i thought i got all the rag dolls i wanted but apparently not. o well :(
Just using reading comprehension skills should have been enough of a clue that something was actually happening rather than a site error.
It's always such a bummer when a topic starts out with a promising idea (the chron failure is a pretty big deal IMO; especially since I could have sworn more admins were allowed to reset the cron so this exact situation wouldn't happen again) and then completely ruins itself by adding in pointless and in most cases completely irrelevant complaints (ie Morostide battling and the Pumpkin Patch) and the important stuff gets completely ignored.
...someone should be calling Keith on his super-secret emergency 911 Subeta cell phone at 4am...

[edit]
To actually add something to the discussion, the lag and cron issues are the only things in the OP that I think are actually problems. The site's been improving over the years, but event lag is definitely still an issue.

I WISH I HAD THE PHONE FROM THE MAYOR.
Anyway: The cron is a little more complicated than hitting a button these days. If it doesn't run / goes wrong, it could just be a server hiccup (an admin can hit a button and reset it) or something broken and then it doesn't matter how many times or hit the button, it's not going to go through until a programmer is able to look at it :(
💖 ✨ 🤗
In all honesty, I think this event has started out better than most. Yeah, there have been some hiccups, but nothing horrible. I'm pretty sure we have a plot coming. Take a look at the URL for Jaxon's house. It has the words "plot_map" in it. 😱

What was the question?
This is a bit ridiculous. The only thing I had an issue with was the problem with the cron not resetting, but I have an issue with that regardless of whether or not it's a holiday. And I'm not like "OMG I'M GONNA QUIT" because it was a little hiccup with the servers and it happens. If someone missed out on quests, it's not gonna kill them. Really, it's not. 1.5-2.0mil ish profit not there and you're upset? Play all the games the max times. There you made your money back. Nbd.
Lag happens for every event. And it wasn't even that bad (at least on my end). And apparently Keith did something with the servers and stuff (Idk technical things) and it should all go faster.
Literally this is the first day. I don't think you can really give accurate "feedback" before them majority of the event has even happened. Slow your roll.
The lag is completely bearable this time around, and this is coming from someone who is very impatient and has actively been around for every Morostide/Luminaire/Vesnali/Great Pandemic in the past 5 years.
As nearly everyone before me has stated, the pumpkin patch being closed is quite obviously hinting at a plot of some sort. Keith wouldn't just ditch such a popular point of interest without announcing it and explaining the reasons behind him doing so.
If achievements were all cardboard cutouts of each other in terms of being easy to achieve, there wouldn't be any sense of accomplishment upon receiving them all. As a completionist, it sucks to know I won't be getting many of the new achievements. As a realist, I can understand that things shouldn't just be handed to me because I want them and I think I deserve to get them unless I work for them.
Trick or treating is luck based. It sucks that you're not getting new stuff, but again, does it really make sense to award everyone with the new stuff 100% of the time?
Twice an hour isn't bad. Most of the Subeta community is made up of people who either attend school, hold a job, or sometimes both. People that don't have to do either and can afford to be online all day may get better items as a result of being on more frequently, but that's not handicapping anyone else.
If you're so unhappy with this year's Morostide that you're threatening to quit, you could just...not participate in any upcoming events.
The only real thing I can agree with her is the lag issue, especially after ten years. I mean, come on, this isn't a new event... ten years and we still shrug and go oh it's lag again la de la de is kind of sad.
Cron breaks, stuff happens, oh well. Pumpkin patch plot YESPLEASEANDTHANKYOU.
I'm honestly THRILLED we're getting more of last year's items, because I wanted more of some of them, especially the later release items, ie M&Ms and raisins and MORE DOCTOR DOLLS PLEASE.
