(Before you continue reading this, keep in mind,I have absolutely NO money,I am unemployed, and don't even have money to buy myself food, but she (my dog) had a supply of food,so don't worry.)

Just when I thought she was doing better. She was fine a couple days ago. Yesterday, she was acting strange...she couldn't walk, wouldn't eat and wouldn't go to the bathroom. I thought maybe she just had really bad arthritis or something. And then...at one point, she tried walking towards me and her legs just stopped working, the stayed straight and one of her legs was stuck in the air,and her neck was twisted to one side, her head nearly upside down, then she fell over. I was so sure that right then, she would die. but she didn't,she was okay after a few minutes, walking normally and all. Then, later she couldn't walk again and spilled her water dish all over herself and just laid in the spilled water. Me and my boyfriend carried her to the front room and put her in her bed and put a blanket on her. Later, while in the front room, she couldn't stay still (she still couldn't walk) like, she kept rolling around and dragging herself across the floor. Finally she started crying in pain out of nowhere,I was so sure that was it. But it wasn't... A little bit later,my boyfriend wanted me to come up to bed because he couldn't fall asleep without me in the bed. So I went up to bed. About 2 or 3 hours later I hear alot of loud thumping downstairs (I hadn't fallen asleep yet, obviously). I went down there to find my dog seizing violently, and then while she was standing up,with her mouth agape and eyes very wide open, her legs and tail stuck straight outwards, causing her to fall to her belly. Her breathing was sporadic. Then she took one last breath in and her heart stopped.

She was a australian shepherd/lab mix 10 years old. (would have been 11 if she lived to november.)

Friendly pinging

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your dog, and I offer my sincerest condolences. :( It's always hard to lose a furry friend like that, especially one you've had for a long time. At least there is some small comfort in the fact that she is at peace now.

It's like I lost a child...

I guess I'll just have to let time pass. I know when my cat died,it took me 2 years to even try to think of her without crying. I keep trying to make light of the situation,by making little jokes and such but then I just feel bad.

There's no problem with that and don't let other people make you think there is.

I lost my dog back the summer I turned 19 (literally a month before my birthday) and it's just now getting to where it doesn't hurt so much to talk about her with people.

It does take time, sometimes very little, sometimes a lot but eventually, it won't hurt as bad. If that helps any? ❤

I'm so sorry hugs Losing a pet is damn near impossible. Just remember all the good times you had with her and don't be scared to cry when you need to.

Thanks... Yeah,it was hard but at least once her heart stopped beating and she was just laying there, she looked like she was sleeping so peacefully...

Thank you.

I think this will take even longer than it did with my cat. Before I got Precious (my dog) I was bullied everyday at school and at home by my brothers,my mother was a drug addict and alchoholic...so my life sucked... Not to say any of those things changed after I got her,but she gave me confidence, she was my shoulder to lean on she made me so happy... I honestly can say, that if I didn't have her I quite possibly would have committed suicide.

sorry to unload all of that information on you...

Oh my... I'm sorry for your loss, and I know how hard it is to deal with something beyond your control. D: Nobody should have to watch their pet go through that.

It honestly sounds like she suffered a series of strokes. In which case, there's not much that could have been done; anyone that tells you it's your fault for not getting her to a vet is an asshole, and you're better off ignoring them.

Just remember all the good times you had together. ❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is really hard. I'm still mourning over my cat who died in December. So I know how you feel. I send you my love and condolences in your time of bereavement.

My dog was like that (Dandy). She was fine until one day. Then she went off her legs and was panting a lot and she kept having these awful seizures. We presumed it was strokes that she was having. We never found out for sure, though. We had to call a vet in eventually and have her put to sleep. My other dog (Tuppie) we lost last year. She went off her legs as well and was having sickness and diarhea. In the end she couldn't walk at all. We took her to the vets to have her put to sleep. It turned out that she had a massive tumour in her bowels and it was pressing on the nerves to her back legs. Dandy was 15 and Tuppie was 16. It is a very sad time for all dog owners. I'm very sorry for your loss hugs

): I know how you feel... I had 2 german shepherd dogs I had gotten when I was like 6 or seven and they died about three years ago. My first died of twisted gut ( violent and painful...) and the second (her sister) died six months later from grief and a tumor that manifested in her brain. It was so sad, I miss my pups and its hard to go through.

I'd suggest not getting a new dog right away, we did and it just made it painful D: -hugs- Im sorry about your doggy, and sorry you had to SEE her go...gah.

Yeah...she was the best dog ever. Even my friends that didn't like dogs loved her.

Man that really sucks... I'm sorry...

I know,I thought about what would happen with a new dog,and I...I just couldn't you know? I'm not at all ready. And when I am I don't want it to be a hasty decision that I'd regret.
