There's already a topic about this on the first page, but it's older than 3 months and I didn't want to necro it.

Anyway. Like the title says, I'd like it if the Genderless Berry was added to the cash shop. 500CSC seems like a fair price to me, keeping it obtainable and not making it worthless at the same time.

"Why?" Simple. There are currently only 3 berries for sale and they're priced at 45-50m. The berry only restocks in the Blackheart Hollow, which has few enough restocks as is. I'm not even sure if the berry is still restocking there at this point. The berry is apparently still stocking, but it's drowned out by all the other items in the BHH. There is no other way to get a genderless pet on the site. It's been ages since Endeavors and Cadogres were released and you'd have to be insanely lucky to find a genderless pet in the pound.

"Wouldn't it make genderless pets less special if the berry was available to everyone?" No. There's a difference between something being special/rare and being nearly unobtainable. The only thing this would do is make the berry more available to people who want their pet's gender to fit the character they have in mind for that particular pet. And put money in Subeta's pocket. ;P

Special pets like the Bhakoru and Bumbus can be obtained from the zapper, or you can ask someone to create one for you and transfer it to your account. You can get a gear-gendered pet easily and for less than 15m if you're not after pet IDs and the name you want is available.

I simply don't see a reason why the berry should be virtually unobtainable, especially if there's a good amount of people interested in getting one.

[edit] Thanks to for the idea: adding it to the token shop, or the crystal shop would be a really good alternative if the staff don't want an endless supply of berries.

[edit] After some discussions, we've come to an estimate on the berry price: 1000CSC if it's in the Cash Shop, or ~35m if it's put in the Millionaire Center, or ~8750 crystals if it's in the Crystal Shop (assuming that crystals are 4000 a piece).

Thanks to for giving me the idea of making a suggestion topic about the berry being an achievement prize for owning X pets (20?), with multiple tiers (every 5 pets after hitting 20?) and berries being awarded per tier.

They should just be put back in BHH.

I hate BHH, everything used to be cheap and because subeta only knows how to fix things black or white.. now everything is hyper-expensive and basically impossible to obtain. I'd rather see it go to the crystal shop, or hell the cash shop because at least then some might make it into the market.

To be honest, I feel that the BHH restocks are few and far between. I doubt that putting it back in would make any difference considering the supply/demand. Other items stock there as well and there's only 1 item per restock, from what I remember? ._. I could be wrong, I didn't see anything there for a long time now and I check it every so often during the day.

I forgot about the crystal shop. :'| I fully support the idea of putting the berry in there as an alternative to the cash shop, as long as the price isn't outrageous.

I don't see a problem with having the item stock rarely, as long as it restocks. Right now, the issue is that it does not restock, and has not restoced for awhile

I don't like items that were meant as being originally a challenge to obtain being thrown either in the CS hustler or CS.

Before the subetateam bought up all the minions they were at least affordable! My soul weeps for the I will probably never possess. Along with about 5+ other items that are basically non-existent because haha yeah we can't achieve middle-ground on subeta. All or nothing. I'd support it going back to the BHH if we could make it where it actually stocks more than twice a day and people actually buy things to sell -__-....

Anything / anywhere to get those back into the market. For a consumable item that's quite sought after, it's not even fun -_-

I just got mine a few months ago I think, so it's probably still in BHH? But I agree that it's pretty sucky for anyone who actually needs one. I would absolutely come down on the price though, if I could find anyone who wanted to work something out :P But it's been at this price for a long time for no reason. [edit] Okay so I did a google search and I got it back in September apparently.

Thing is, the BHH items restock in a limited number as far as I know, so even if it's put back into rotation, there's still the problem of supply vs. demand. Especially if the items are being stocked with an eyedropper once in a blue moon and the demand is huge. I'm not trying to go "bawww, make it free because I don't want to work for it". I'd simply like to see more on-site because I don't see the reason behind a gender-changing item being this rare. The berry is also a food item, so that's another reason why people want it - gourmand achievement.

A similar example I could use in this case: the Tentacular Potion can only be obtained from a meetup bag and there are more of those around in the shops than berries. But, the experiment is also available via zapper v2 with some luck. Zappers can't turn your pet genderless and I don't even know when the last Cadogre/Endeavor release was. So the berry is more or less the only way to get a genderless pet.

I know about the cash shop rage, and while I'm one of the people who don't like everything getting shoved into the cash shop, I feel that it would be way better than the BHH. :'D Token shop, I would also be perfectly okay with. Price it 5k tokens, or something. Get some of the tokens out of the system and introduce more berries. Everyone's happy.

Yes, there are more tentacular potions, because it's not a in-demand item. That experiment just isn't popular.

Also, you can get a genderless pet by creating a Steamworks pet, and changing it to anything but Steamworks. The only thing that trick does not do is change an existing pet to Steamworks, and it doesn't work on pets you're planning to keep steamworks.

But, the gear gender did convert to genderless in the past.

Normally, I like items to stay in the spots they started at... but the Crystal Shop is so damn neglected, I wouldn't mind seeing it there.

Seriously. We have had a grand total of 3 CS restocks in 2014 (based on news posts, if there were unannounced stocks done I can't count those obviously). 9 total items.

The reason why I brought up the cash shop and why I suggested that the berry be put there is because the mention of the cash shop grabs people's attention. If I went with "put it in the crystal shop/token shop" from the start, I'd get 3-4 posts and the topic would die.

Honestly, I don't understand why Genderless has to be expensive to make in the first place... I was incredibly happy when this was made an option since I have gender-shifting characters and I have characters with ambiguous gender identities. However, it was never anything I could afford if I still wanted to have sP to work on other stuff I enjoy like training and TCs. Seriously... Why do I have to pay so much to accurately portray my characters? Male and Female are free to create and easy to switch with zapping or berries. Yes, I do understand that it's supposed to be "exclusive" or something... I just don't feel it is something that should be exclusive... Wouldn't think so even if I had been able to get all of my characters sorted out already.

Since it's been expensive for so long and there are many people who have payed the asking price, I'm not going to ask that it be made free (like I think it ought to be), but I would love to see the Genderless Berry made more readily available... My personal choice would be the CS at 1000 CSCs OR placed in the Millionaire Center for a comparable/appropriate cost... The staff could rotate it in and out of stock as they see fit and it'd still be unnecessarily outrageously expensive, but at least I would know it would still be around if/when I was able to save up enough sP.

Yes. I support this. To reiterate what said, I think that they should be more obtainable. Not as cheap as a sex berry per se, but not extremely expensive.

Now that I've gotten some sleep, I feel like I can better explain what I meant by bringing up the Tentacular Potion. :'D That potion is only given out to people who participate in Subeta meetups. Meetups don't happen often and they're mostly in the US, so there won't be a lot of these items floating around. However, they're still out there and they're an affordable way to get that one experiment you want if you have zero luck with the zappers (or the dew). The potion is still rare and pricy, but not impossible to get.

All the other colour/pet changing items are affordable and in constant supply. Angelic Potions, Blacklight Potions, Essence of Melody, Miracle Potion and Miracle Potion II are all in the cash shop and I've never seen them be taken out of stock. Only going to mention the Neela in passing here since it's a new pet and I doubt it's ever going to leave the cash shop in the first place. Essence of Melody is also an achievement prize. Yunium Key is also available in the Menagerie. Steamwork Key Stone Mold, Ornate Floral Pitcher and plenty of other potions restock in the main shops. The Sex Berry is restockable. Some of the restockable potions also occasionally end up in the token shop. Chibi and Darkmatter potions are constantly in the MC. Potion of Purity was also recently added to the MC. Elixirs are restockable, as are the Cadogre Mystical Toys. You can find the Bucket of Polar Water fairly easily and the chalice you need to make a Glacier Potion is, again, always in the MC. All the potions are also available through the potion lottery. Even the Experimental Dew, which changes your pet into a random experiment pet, is restockable. Pets can be turned Galactic once per month. There are also the zappers. All the potions and elixirs can also be obtained via two random events that I know of. The "you're walking past a lab and you notice a bottle on the ground" one and the lizard one (only for R99 potions/elixirs).

Every pet/gender changing item is affordable and in constant supply, except for the Genderless Berry. While the gear-gender-to-genderless trick might have worked before, I'm pretty sure it was a bug that got fixed. Even if it wasn't a bug and was a legitimate option for getting a genderless pet, it still leaves people who like/want low ID pets in a bad spot.

I suggested the 1000 CSCs price only because it is nearly comparable to the current price of the Genderless Berry in user shops. If they like the price where it is and/or don't want to upset people who paid the exorbitant price, that would be the amount it should be priced at in the CS. (I think you understood that, but just to clarify.) I'd also like to see it be less expensive, more like 500 CSCs, but I understand that's a significant difference. Wouldn't be the first significant price drop... But price drops are almost always accompanied by significant complaints. -sighs-
