Until all the edges are ironed out, I think they should NOT announce the spotlight winner and have a staff look at the winner, double checking to make certain that it still qualifies before putting it in the news. I know I wouldn't be completely heartbroken if the announcement came out later in the day instead of right at midnight.

Resserection, I already won the spotlight once (with a finished pet, omg!) and I could give a shit less I didn't win.

I give a shit because I ENJOY looking at the pets that did win, and reading their stories and seeing their lookup and enjoy the work people put into their pets. So yes. This is a huge disappointment, especially when there ARE some wonderful pets waiting to win.

And the owner has the power to make herself the winner and post spotlight? I think not so take it up with the GMs not making a lil gang here to complain and talk crap to the owner. I don't even know the owner but it' freaking pathetic when people come here to bitch about someone's pet who they have NO control over if they adopt it and it's a spotlight winner.

A good deal of you are pretty silly. I, along with others, have had my unfinished pets such as Linar and Ienei nominated before, but I was (actually, am) still working on them and turned their nominations off, therefore removing them from the queue. One more time: This wasn't a glitch.

Is there a way to check for sure? 'Cause I unchecked Fabiynn and it said that he was no longer nominated on my pet preferences page; I checked his nomination link and it had reset (since I was checking it haha) to be 'you cannot nominate your own pet!' or whatever it is. So I definitely thought he'd been pulled, because everything said that he'd basically been reset for nomination.

Imagine my surprise when I saw that he'd won. I thought maybe it was meant to happen (that pets that were already potential winners don't get pulled?) but then I remember everyone said that they DID but it really doesn't explain why he won when I had unchecked his prefs.

Hey I'm just glad this inspired me to go check my settings and realize someone nominated Hieroglyphs 8| wtf people

I think we're mostly all upset (or I am atleast) because this is the second time this has happened in two days, and the last time nothing was done to fix it. If it isn't fixed this time whose to say it won't happen again? I'm pro the idea that the default is our pets are not nominated, that we have to actually go in and change it. It would prevent an inactive user from winning with a blank profile

TBH I think it's kind of useless for you guys to yell at the owner when I'm proof that REMOVING YOUR NOMINATION SETTING =/= TAKING YOUR PET OUT OF THE QUEUE IF IT IS ALREADY A POTENTIAL WINNER.

The only thing pissing me off is all of you saying that it is a glitch, or that Meat couldn't prevent it from winning. Both of which are NOT true. Personally, I think tonight's winner should be re-picked, for Meat's sake. o3o I mean, her pet won the spotlight without having anything fancy on its profile. Unless pets can win the pet spotlight twice, I don't think Thea will get another chance to show off her profile, if it eventually becomes spotlight-worthy. How sad would that be, to have a wonderful profile and story, and not be eligible for the pet spotlight due to something like this? For Meat and Thea's sake, at least, I think there should be a re-pick~ That's just me, though. c:

There have been numerous pets that have won and didn't have crap to back it let alone qualify. The new owner made a post on the pets page and EVEN posted herself she didn't deserve to win. You are just restating what was said earlier and it's not needed. If it's such a problem go write a bug report about it to the GMs.

Honestly...? Yes. If I just adopted a pet, i would check to make sure they were not accepted to win. ESPECIALLY if I looked at their profile (I'm assuming people do that after they adopt a pet) and see the "Has been nominated for the pet spotlight!" which yes, you can see on your OWN pets. So..yeah. There you have it.

And I seriously hope staff DOES redraw a winner this time. This is ridiculous.
