do you know how freaking easy it is to forget that the pet spotlight exists, especially when just adopting a new pet? Not everyone is all that into it. :/ I like to look at the winners myself, but just. Guys. It's really easy to forget. Very easy oversight.

And goddamn people, there are more important things on Subeta than pet spotlight. I get that the Internet is serious business, but christ. This is ridiculous. Everyone's FLIPPING THE HELL OUT oh god PET SPOTLIGHT GLITCH AHHHHH. It'll be fixed in time, we've had a lot of complaints about it and staff is most likely aware of the issue by now. If they even want to bother fixing it with how much drama the spotlight causes, anyway. :/

... who said we have to get through all the pets? o_O as paradise said, what's special about the spotlight anymore if it's every day? i think it's lost the anticipation it had, current drama aside.

i think we've proven winning is random, with numerous pets potentially being added everyday. there's no guarantee that in 2000 days a pet that's in the queue now will definitely have won. why expect it to?

I believe the computer picks who wins through a drawing? I may be mistaken but I don't think the staff looks at it. Im not very familiar with the pet spotlight

Matches up with: " Is there a way to check for sure? 'Cause I unchecked Fabiynn and it said that he was no longer nominated on my pet preferences page; I checked his nomination link and it had reset (since I was checking it haha) to be 'you cannot nominate your own pet!' or whatever it is. So I definitely thought he'd been pulled, because everything said that he'd basically been reset for nomination.

Imagine my surprise when I saw that he'd won. I thought maybe it was meant to happen (that pets that were already potential winners don't get pulled?) but then I remember everyone said that they DID but it really doesn't explain why he won when I had unchecked his prefs.

I say let it go until it can be confirmed or denied for sure. If we could get a few staff members to set the happenings in stone, we'd be good. Glitch or user error, either way it sucks that a completed profile didn't win. However, getting dogy about it doesn't do any good unless you can back up what you are saying.

Last I heard the queue had something like 2000 pets in it (I could be wrong though). Which would mean if we chose once a week it would take 38 years to get through all of the CURRENT pets in the queue. Not to mention all of the ones being added daily. So... I'd like to keep it at once a day...

Umm... wow. Drama drama drama.

What it comes down to is, mistakes are made. It was an honest mistake, something that could've slipped anyone's mind. (Not that I'm one of those seemingly confusing statement of the facts as personal attacks against her) I understand the dissapointment about the situation, but it's not as if it's the end of the world. (If you'll excuse the worn-out expression)

On a lighter note, I think this might be the most the word "meat" has been used outside of adult films and butcher conventions.

Hm, as users of subeta we have the right to complain if something goes wrong. I am not saying it is the end of the world though, just that it seems like staff needs to find a new way of making sure that the spotlight winner might be checked right before it posts or something. I mean is it hard to have one person check it every night and just click "NEXT" if there isn't anything on the page anymore?

How is anyone jealous of an essentially blank pet? People are pissed that pets that deserve to win are getting passed up for pets who have had no work on them (or at least at time of win have no work visible)

I wish the spotlight would go away, or just be a random selection from all pets with no requirements. The later would be easy to do since that has been the case this week.

...I would assume so, since it says on the pet page if your pet has been nominated. Kinda right up there. At the top. Bold and center.
