You have to question how long the new owner has have the pet and did she know the pet was nominated or had a 'yes' option. Some people might be too happy that they just got the pet that they let stuff like that unnoticeable. Alright, yes, the owner had an option but it doesn't mean she was consciously aware of it. Its not always someone's first thought when getting a new pet.

Wow, okay the last few pets have been a total disaster. I get that the first time it'd be kinda funny but by now I'd expect the admins to at least be checking the profiles before the pets are actually featured

This is great. Every time I refresh there are like 10 new comments XD Anyway, I don't think anyone should really be MAD at the owner, but then again I don't think anyone really is. Just a little annoyed, which is understandable And it's great how people come in, attitude guns blazing like what they have to say hasn't already been said a million times before and is no longer relevant XD And and, saying "GOD WHY DON'T YOU JUST CONGRATULATE HER AND GET OVER IT?" What has she done to earn congratulations? Fact of the matter is, it's pretty disappointing when blank pets win. I haven't even tried to make any of my pets pretty as I don't really care about this part of the site, but I'm still kinda pissed that these blank pets keep winning. It's not fair to everyone who HAS worked hard and loses, to absolutely nothing. Lol

Sorry, but we are relying on the hearsay of ONE user who has no screenshot or ticket or ANY proof that her pet actually glitched. I would be just as inclined to believe that she accidentally clicked the "no", but then forgot the "submit" button. It happens, we're human.

Nobody else has ever complained about their settings mysteriously switching back and forth.. therefore, arguing out of our asses about how this is a complete glitch with no user responsibility is ridiculous.

Oh no, I understand. There's nothing that can be done, obviously; I was just stating this in a response to 'IT WAS A GLITCH!!' or 'LAY OFF MEAT IT WASN'T HER FAULT!' because it COULD have been prevented, so technically it is partially her fault. Of course, mostly it's the glitchy as hell spotlight system, but I'm just sayin'.

This would be an easy problem to avoid if people would have the sense to remove the nominations if they adopt out/abandon/store/switch around their pets all the time. |D

I knew this Spotlight thing would cause drama. Unneeded drama at that. Grow up. Its a game. o.O So much anger and drama doesn't need to be created because of a GAME. Stop crying and move the Hell on.

Yet again, it's all too funny. Keep bitching. You're only making yourselves look bad.

I don't really know how the spotlight system works, as I haven't worked on my pets enough to really get involved. I've seen saying how her pet won even though she checked the box or whatever. So, imo, there's some kind of glitch or something? Because if she checked the box, why did her pet still win?

It feels like pet spotlight is inventing new ways for the ball to be dropped on a nearly daily basis. The idea that staff review the winning pet before it goes up on the news page is a great one, I think.

Ah yeah no, it's cool, I understand. Still, admittedly while it could have been preventable, it doesn't help too much the people saying what MEAT COULD have done.

I'm just hoping that staff will implement some more cautionary measures so that things like this don't happen again!

I think we've already been over that most people who are upset about this have already won the spotlight at least once.

Also I'm pretty sure most people aren't ANGRY at meat, they are angry at the spotlight itself. Could Meat have prevented this? Yes. I don't see how saying 'you could have prevented this by doing x' is attacking anyone. Then again I haven't looked through all of this clusterfuck, so maybe someone has.

Okay everyone I really need someone to explain this to me.

Multiple people here seem to be convinced that the owner of the pet has NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER and OMG THIS IS A GLITCH and how DARE we not congratulate because we are all sooooo bitter about not winning 2 days in a row.

Question.

Is there a fucking demon hidden on the preference page that blocks your "no" choice or otherwise switches your pets preferences back and forth?

No?

Then, logically, THE USER HAS SOME RESPONSIBILITY to de-nominate their pets if they are blanked out.

WHY are there even two sides to this argument?

Honestly, if pet spotlight isn't something you worry about, you probably don't think about taking it out of consideration for the win.

Personally, I think the default should be "NOT ELIGIBLE"...and if you want it to be nominated, then you should have to change the settings, not the other way around. THEN, if the pet isn't worthy, you can blame the owner and the nominator.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Kyle

I have a feeling that a lot of the bitching is spawning from people wanting their pets to win. If so, people need to lighten the hell up. It's a game. Hell, Kappa has been nominated for what seems like forever, do I care if he wins? Not a chance, what matters is that I'm happy with him.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Persys

Lol, I just had a thought... With no staff member previewing these submissions before they go live, it's not going to be long before we get some asshole who gets nominated and accepted and then changes their pet profile to nothing but goat.se or tub girl or something.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned like 5 times that their pet still won even though she removed the spotlight option.

; border: 1px solid ; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10;"> I don't know if this is a glitch or what BUT I don't think even turning off nomination for your pet will take them out of the queue if they've already been accepted as a potential winner. I know this because my pet, Fabiynn, won Spotlight a week or so ago and I had turned off his nomination setting maybe a week or two before he had won. Evidently he hadn't been pulled from the queue even so.

Sorry, couldn't resist. ;P But no really, I get complaiing but less about directly complaining/bugging Meat. Stuff happens. The system should be adjusted/actual nominations checked, maybe we shouldn't have a DAILY pet Spotlight, blah blah, haven't been here long enough to know how often this happens. xD Even if this is apparently the second week. Shit happens. Move on. c:

EXACTLY, people would bitch if there is nothing on the site to do. So of course the staff is worrying about that more then freaking spotlight crap. Personally I rather have something on the site to do like an event or w/e. Working on the pet lookup only goes so far and it's apparent if people don't like it they bitch. Not saying this spotlight for example, but there have been some P-I-T-I-F-U-L winners before. I mean spelling mistakes and gender swaps all to boot.

I don't care about the drama, I just wanna see some nice profiles again. )': How come it only took like an hour or so to take White down in that glitch a while ago, but nobody can control re-picking when this sort of thing happens? Glitch-control would be cool, especially since there's tons of pets in the queue, and it would be nice to see some of the finished ones get exposure instead of an "oops" pet.
