I love the pose on the new one and how it's legs aren't so chunky. But I'm kinda disappointed in the tail...I like the more spaced out and larger brighter glowing orbs of the old one. The mane also could be longer perhaps and the knees are just a tad bit knobby. I voted for the new one anyway although it needs some improvement here and there it's still by far better than the old one. With the exception of the tail...I hate how it's so scrunched up! You can hardly see the orbs anymore and they're the prettiest part! If the revamp goes through and the tail is adjusted I probably will consider adopting a Hikei.

Well, when I drew it, there was no redlines or edits to be seen, so I just scribbled a longer mane that goes further to the center of the face. We kinda posted at the same time in that respect. I didn't mean to revamp the revamp the mane idea in any way. xD

I'm glad people like my revamp. ^.^ I was surprised that there wasn't more. o_O I usually see ... lots and lots.

I have a visual suggestion for the artist that's almost in the same pose as this. Nobody has to like my suggestions, but I think it will be helpful because I took some of the comments from the users to aid my quick doodle. I just hope I code this correctly lol.

I made the tail a bit bigger and not so close together. I fixed the back legs a bit because they were bothering me. The front hooves have bad anatomy I know, but they are there to suggest a leg liftup to add more personality to the pet. I preferred the larger stripes and the Trojan horse like mane, and finally I tweaked the ears and face a bit. Like I said, you don't have to use my suggestions, but I believe they will be somehow helpful :3.

The front legs are too knobby for a donkey pet, and the snout needs to be a little bigger. The mohawk needs some work. I kind of think it could be a little slimmer (how about buying it a little Lean Gourmet?). Other than that, I'm perfectly fine with it. :3

If the new revamp had the old revamp's mohawk and tail it would be perfect. The blue hind toes look a bit weird too.

I personally LOVE this hikei. I like it much better than the old one. I might actually have gotten one if this revamp had been when i had a gold account :| The only thing I can suggest is maybe make the stripes a little bigger. They seem very small :c Not as big as the original revamp mind you, but maybe a bit bigger would be nice.

I have a common Hikei so this revamp really affects me. I love the revamp, the art is fantastic! I love the eyes, especially now that we see both; I love the mane, it's thick and full; I love the fact the legs are thinned down a bit, she no longer looks like she needs to see a cardiologist; the tail now looks fuller, I like that. But there is something that's just a little 'off' and I can't put my finger on it. Each part taken separately looks wonderful, but as a whole, something just isn't right. Could it be the personality? Maybe, I'm just not sure. I'm going to vote 'new', keep my Hikei, and hope for a tweak. This is the first revamp I've been so high on the fence and felt so wishy-washy!

I strongly prefer this one over the original hikei and the older revamp. The art needs updated, that's for sure, and the previous evamp actually made it look like it was a puppy with a horse head. It was squashed and didn't quite work, in my opinion.

This, on the other hand, makes me believe it's an actual crossbreed between a zebra and a canine, instead of just being haphazardly thrown together.

The mane does bug me a little, but I'm not quite sure what it is. The tails look a little like they're just. Sprouting from its butt.

The old revamp was perfect, it is a shame the artist is gone. My suggestion would be to change the hind paws. With the dark toes the claws aren't as prominent and it gives them an odd look.

i really don't like the mane, and the toes being blue just seems silly and like its a change just for the sake of a change, and i wish the tails were prettier. otherwise i do like this one, but i gotta vote for the old because of those little issues.

I'm really not a fan of this new artwork. The face could use a little work in my opinion.

Just a suggestion though, since I don't even own a Hikei... but I think that polls about a revamp should only be able to be voted on by ppl that have the pet species being revamped. I think this would make the decisions more fair to the ones that actually like the pet and own one.

I absolutely love it! For me the face and body are nicely proportioned as well as the tail (I prefer the smaller orbs) I never liked the hikei's chunky legs nor the neck which appeared to be contorted by the weight of its head. The artist has also done a great job with the eyes - alert and a nice shade of blue....My initial thought was that the hikei owners should have the most say, but in reality, aside from the need to update the art I presume you want to attract more owners? Although, I do not particularly like the colours on this common hikei, I am really looking forward to the updates of other colours - especially potion types. I for one, hope this revamp will go through.

Ahh, one crit I forgot to mention before is that the back of the front leg closest to us is basically.. a giant squiggly line. XD;; It could stand to be smoothed out a little. Other than that and the overly stockiness of some of the features, I think this is a really gorgeous start to a revamp. c: We've seen some really nice ones for the Hikei, so hopefully this one will go through after some tweaking.

i voted for the old one im ususally super supportive with the redraws because they are always sooo beautiful, this is no exception

but i dont know something about it bugs me, but i cant put my finger on it, things like this always happen when i try to draw in my art class - im always like what did i do wronggggXD? good luck, i prefer the old one, but if this one comes i wont be disapointed and shitt.

This edit makes me think of the pulling mules you see around the area I live. They're short, thicker, and rather strong- often used for plowing fields and the lot if you own a small plot of land. That's what I adore most about this revamp. I enjoy the realism and even the minor issues with it. So I really do hope that the over all redesign doesn't lose the mule/donkey physic- it'd be rather upsetting in my opinion.

I voted old. This reminds me of the Maticorn revamp - I don't like it at all.

The persona it gives off isn't some cute, innocent, horse-like creature; it's more like a hyper little creature with some sort of disorder. The front legs are too knobby, the face/head looks funny (I think it's the snout, but I can't be sure), the tail looks too small/short, and the worst part is that random hind leg sticking out. You know how women sometimes put all their weight on 1 hip and stick their foot out (usually with their arms crossed)? That's what it looks like it's doing, and animals can't do that. It doesn't look like it's in line with all of the other legs. If you were to change anything, I would DEFINITELY change that. Maybe you can make it try and face the same way as the front one because right now it doesn't look like it.

I'm really not feeling this one. With a larger head, a mohawk/mane that sticks out more, and maybe a few facial tweaks to make it more like the old Hikei, it could be far better. For now I'm gonna have to vote against it.

Personal opinion: the left 'cheek' is too much--looks as if the poor thing has mumps. He also looks as if he needs a good grooming--scruffy. Sorry--I gotta stick with the old one.

I'd like to see something that looks as if it's been based on a Clydesdale or a Shire, or Friesian, for the forequarters. Big massive equine. Then hindquarters with a lion base...

I love this so much! IF the revamp goes through, then I'll really need to buy one of those Special Plushie thingos! Congradualtions.

I have one small thing to toss in though... Maybe make the back of the Mane spikier? The top is spiky, but then it goes all chunky around the back/bottom. It's sort of strange, but never-the-less, this pet rocks!

I think part of the reason people in general think the Hikei is more horse-like than donkey-like is the abundance of My Little Hikei items on the site, which just scream "cute graceful pony":

Like it or not, you've implanted the idea in people's minds that the Hikei is shaped like a My Little Pony toy, even though it was intended to be a zebra/donkey all along. Thus, seeing a more donkey-like revamp, even though it is entirely appropriate for the species, throws people off.

That said, I'm voting old, mostly for the reasons already listed by others.

Personally I think this revamp makes the Hikei look mentally dumb. Something about the hair takes away the cuteness and adds a really clueless annoying to look.

I really prefer the old version to this version. The hikei was always cute and pretty, but this seems like it's a bit more masculine; I'm not too fond of the face either. I think there would be a great improvement if the hair and little things about the face were modified, but just my two cents. The body looks great though, the old version's body was very chubby.

Oh, I like Zohkaro's redline too. ^__^ This is cute, but yeah, I wish it was chubbier. LOVE THE EYES. So big and shiny. I bet the Chibi version would be so adorable it'd make your eyes bleed. o:

I prefer the old one... chubby, dumpy Hikei is the Hikei I love, and I really would like to keep a chubby, dumby Hikei among my pets... I would be okay with the revamp if it was kept chunky, but Zohkaro's redline looks a lot better in terms of balance if there's no hope for the chubs. Sorry artist : And it does look kinda grey, as Seerow pointed out. I thought they were a lot lighter.

This is a good piece of art, but it doesn't really scream hikei at me. It looks more chibi to me. The closet back leg seems to be twisted somehow, maybe some shading around that area would help? It might be my screen but I find the shading very light, it almost seems its not there, maybe darkening it a bit? I also think it would look great if the tails were longer. I love the eyes, feet and mane (maybe the mane will look ever better if it was longer and fluffier? Or even flatter like a zebras though! This has potetional

I'm sorry but the cute-cute-chibi look just isn't workin' for me. :| I feel that the face is a bit wide and the mane looks more like a foal's than an adult's. Also, the body is very short...I'm sure it's meantto be donkey-like, but with this revamp I can't see either donkey or horse or any of that family. I see more of a hippo with longer legs. ChillyKitten and Zohkaro's adjustments and redlines really help to show the mistakes- with just a few tweaks it can go from hippo to equine, chibi-chibi-chubba to...not...chibi-chibi...chubba. 8|

Cons: The Back legs seem alot longer then the front. The snout is really round, and little more square would make a huge difference. The Front legs seem really.... chunky. it's not very attractive. the Tails seem very short and stubby. I would love it if they were to come out more

(like the old one) Second, the tails look like worms. D; At least for the old one they looked some what like cat/mouse tail. The face gives me the creeps. It's like it's saying "I'ma gonna kill joo in your sleep and no one will expect me...", eep! Try making it's eyes looking away from the viewer to fix that one. The stripes are too small, and finally, that leg is broken, I swear...

So yeah, sorry to sound rude, but I'm having serious issues using constructive criticism for this thing...

Combined, the two redlines/edits point out basically everything I have to say, so I won't make another long comment with their same points. I think it's a good starting place and definitely a step up from the current Hikei.

I prefer Zohkaro's redline. The hair is too short, the back leg is odd, there are no claws.

WTF happened to this pet. I have one. I looove mine. This...um monstrosity for lack of a better word is odd. Ok ok, I'm not an artist, buuut you ask for critisism so I'm going to try and go for it here. It's dispoportionate. The eyes...The eyes! They just won't stop STARING at me. It's like ZOMBIE Hikei that can't blink. Ever. It's kinda scary. The mane is like butch Hikei here. "I'm rebelling against mom and dad so I'm cutting my hair reeeeaallly short and spiking it up. That'll show em".

And the back leg. OMG mom, I think I broke it. Is it supposed to be bent that way out there? Argh. I'm supposed to be looking cocky but wow man I think I threw out a hip too....

Ok ok so at least I attempted to put my critisism into a joke.
