Just a brief postscript to my previous post, asking that the Spectrum Hikei be left alone as well, if this new change goes through. I'll be saving my angelic potion for another pet, so I'd like to keep my current hikei as is, with her beautiful, nicely-proportioned spectrum beauty intact. Basically, this new, miniaturized redo just doesn't have the impact, or wow appeal that my current version has (as someone mentioned, it's been Chibified, or chubbified without the cuteness). I do like ET and ChillyKitten's versions (more character and pizazz!) Thanks for listening!

Y'know, I actually wrote some criticism earlier in the day, soon after it first came out, but after staring at it on and off most of the day, I'm actually finding myself okay with it.

It's still a little chubby, and I don't like the gecko-like back toes, but all in all, it's actually kind of a cute little horsey. Much better then anything I can draw, anyways.

I'm trying really, really hard to try to come up with criticism that won't be completely offensive to the artist (because I know how hard artists work on these). Since everything I think up crosses that line, I'll leave it at this: I severely dislike pretty much everything about the new version, and I am voting for the old one.

I think it's very cute!!

Love the eyes, however, I think I'm going to vote for the old one for now.. I think it can still be improved, so yeah, wonderful start though~

I love ET's version too. Now that I stare at it for a bit, I really don't like the mane either, its too... shaggy/spikey. I like the more seamed mohawk type look.

The toes still bug me too

These keep getting worse and worse. The legs look terrible, the tail looks terrible, the pose is awful. Neck is too short, head is at a weird angle. Hair is awful. To be perfectly honest, it looks nothing up to par with the majority of the pet art, and it reminds me of the very early hilarious pet art that was on this site. No, no, no.

i like it more than the old one but the ears seem to be a bit odd and the black toes are awfull... they would look better if they were white like the old one

I LOVE the pose,and the corrections to the porportions of the head and . But maybe make the glowy tail bits more spread out, the blue bits a little lighter, and the hair straighter,more uniform than the current idea? I like ChillyKitten's ideas.

The new one doesn't even look like a Hikei if you ask me. Looks like a mule or a donkey with minor changes to look like a Hikei.

Blue back hooves = Ew. Head = Looks deformed Tail = WAY too short Stripes = Too small Hair = Too puffy

And what really gets me is that I've noticed we all don't like it but people still vote for the new one. What sense does that make? -looks at the notice under the submit comment post that says not to be stupid-

Anything would be a step forward from the original, and this is no exception, but the mane is hideous.

I prefer the old one; the new one could use a little work on making the mane less frizzy and more thin, silky looking, elegant, and the blue back paws are... no.

understand why it is no longer available, but this is not a good substitute. The stripes need to be larger, the tail and mane longer, and the head completely redone. Also, it seems to have a grey tinge to it... They eyes look odd or glazed-over, almost as if the hikei is lost and daydreaming. I'm not a fan of the nose either. I know the artist worked hard on this, but I'm really not liking it.

I think the old pose is better than the new one, but the artistic detail and style of the new one trumps the old. Also, the new one has more slender legs, which is more realistic (and better looking).

Sorry, but this one is a definite pass for me! I'll try not to be too harsh, but overall it just looks too stumpy/chunky, or squished together...kindof like putting a cheetah into a garbage compactor and getting out a housecat. Perhaps giving a little more length and breadth to the body and neck and sizing up the head accordingly would improve the overall aspect. This one is simply too disproportionate (what I'm inclined to call a Hikei Mini-Me). And woe is me, what became of the glorious tail appendages with the beautiful floating orbs? Now, it's also been squished into a sad, shortened little mound with teenie, tiny orbs. If you do go with this one, just don't touch the Angelic version, or unfortunately another one of my pets will go to the pound (which of course will seriously frustrate me since I got my angelic potion specifically for my Hikei. I'm voting old, no other choice.

the face is so... cute. I absolutly adore it.. it's the body underneath Im not sure about. the hair/mane/tufts over hooves might need some more flow, it's really chunky, the body around the head is a tad big

Something... about the neck.. maybe the head's too small now.. too close to the body maybe; I can't put my finger on it, but it just looks off. The toes really shouldn't be blue though; upon first glance you easily mistake them for more hooves, which is not good because the feet and hooves both being there is the most unique thing about this pet. The legs do need to be bulkier too; maybe the puny-ness of the front ones is what's making the neck/upper body look so strange to me.

I prefer the current version also. Twice below I tried to post that the eyes lacked ex press ion but the word is not there (similar to the darker eyes in ETs version). The blue area next to the tear duct area of the eyes makes the eyes appear too deep. I like the dark back toes. I agree on the front legs being too wavy. The ear looks like it has another pink ear coming out of it the pink area is too large and it does not line up? Looks like a pink feather blocking the front view of the ear I hope that the twilight version does not change to this current polled version at all. How would the stars in the tail fit, there is not enough room? If the mane is going to change that drastically, why not make it an excellent flowing wavy mane?

I Love it!! I think this is much better than the old one and better than all the other revamp versions. The only thing that I think should be fixed is the mane. Perhaps make it more spikey, or more Zebra-like. Other than that I think its perfect! I want one if they look like this!!

I am 100% agreeing with ET on this one. The little head tilt suggested in his/her picture is excellent, as is the lifted hoof. They keep some of the more playful, awkward-zebra attitude that I felt the first one had.

The new one is quite cute but I think the mane could be a bit longer and the face is a little too round. I think this has been said, but the body would look better if it were a tiny bit longer and slimmer and the glow of the orbs in its tail seemed to have dimmed as it is not very noticeable D= I also do not like the colouring on the toes because it makes it too symmetrical with the hooves, if that makes sense. Anyhow, I prefer the white paws and blue hooves.

I certainly hope the Angelic Hikei doesn't change. Same with the Darkmatter. They're both drawn well.

Actually, looking at it, I don't like how round the body is. It looks like the kind of body that I would draw on a horse, which I know isn't right. XD

I think something that might be making the toes look strange is that they're the color of the tail and mane, and not the color of the hooves. Of course, that could be that the hooves have shine to them that lightens them/changes their color, but it throws off the coloring of the toes. Maybe if the toes were a slightly lighter color, maybe something midway between their current color and the color of the stripes, it would look better. :3

I also just noticed that this hikei is now off-white, which is actually harder on my eyes and messes with the contrast of the blue stripes a bit too much.

I'm sure the artist put a lot of time and effort into this but as a long time hikei fan... it's just awful. The back toes look more stuck on than an actual part of the pet, it's lost all of it's regal appeal... Once again i'm of the opinion that in the polls the votes of actual owners of the pet type should count double or triple the votes of non-owners.. sigh

My main problems with this are the lack of shading, the mane looks like string, and the eye whites are not as visible making the hikei look less... emotional xD? The anatomy doesn't look mainly equine either, the body is much too scrunched.

I do commend whoever drew this on the lineart it look gorgeously smooth and the perfect weight : D

I'm glad that the hikei is getting love, I just don't think this the right version yet

I really like this revamp. It is worlds better than the original, and far better than the last revamp as well. I like the equine body. It's lovely; if this went through, I would most absolutely make Augustine a Hikei. I've already dappled with the idea, and I think it would fit well.

Unlike everyone else, apparently, I LOVE THE MANE. It's so wild and unrestrained, but also really cute. I think it looks great.

I do wish the stripes were bigger; they don't look as zebra-like or defined as the original. I'm also not sure I like the blue toes. They look odd; I understand the logic and reason behind them, to match the blue hooves, but I think the blueness makes the toes look odd.

Besides that, it's lovely.

Oh I just saw ET's Suggestion and I'm loving it!! nice quick doodle by the way... I love the lifted leg and the better tail and the mane rocks too! I highly suggest it were made to look more like this! Then I would definitely adopt one!!
