I like some factors of the new one and some of the old. The new one had bigger fangs, which I liked because it's more pehistoric. And I like the eyes. Though of couse, I do like the shading, as it goes real well with the fur.

But not not much of the thickness of the main body. The head looks a bit big too me...not sure why.

I still like the pose of the old one alot better. And, like Shaggy said, that smark is gone. I would miss that expersoin when it's gone. ;_;

The artist still did an awsome job, Way better then I could ever do. But I'm going with old.

I love the new one. The old ones colors made my eyes hurt, and the new one has shading, its cuter I think. The older version looked like the pets from other pet sites and I think the graphics for Subeta are and should continue to be better than those other ones.

I'd like to see much larger spikes and the head facing the other way. Otherwise, I like it very much.

D: I can't stand looking at this new one. Not only does the shading give the wrong texture, but the anatomy is off throughout all of the lineart.
The old version had one or two anatomy flaws, and minimal shading, but overall it doesn't look as messed up as this new one.
No offence to the artist, but it looks like you had a hard time squeezing it into that space and ended up killing the poor thing in the proccess... >.<;;

I like your idea NoirRaven (that wasn't posted yet when I was typing my response ), that'd certainly make the poll a bit more fair.

I'm really glad I didn't save up and make Arucard DM yet...that would have KILLED me...but I put so much time into coding his profile...it's gonna be hard letting him go if this revamp goes through - and based on the polls so far it seems it will =/

The old one has a better pose and lineart.

This one has better shading, but I'm really not fond of the new one's lineart.

What would be cool is if...well, you know the people who already have a Telenine? And how some prefer new, some prefer old? I think that if they already have one, that they should be allowed to choose if THEIR Telenine changes to the new version. Or if they can just keep the old, if they like it better. Because some people will ditch their Telenines just because they don't like the new version. This way, they won't have to.

When I first joined here, and looked at SubetaDB to help me pick a pet, the FIRST one I wanted was a Telenine. I was so sad to find out I couldn't get one right away. Now I have 2. If this revamp goes through as-is, it would break my heart. I'm sorry. It's a lovely drawing, but it just doesn't feel "Telenine" to me...

There's something mischevious about the way the old Tele "smirked" (esp the DM one), and I just don't see that on the new design, and that bothers me. The ENTIRE reason I made my pet Arucard a Tele was for that smirk. If there's no smirk, I'm gonna have to make him something else or adopt him away

Someone commented that this version looks "like their dad" or "like an old man" and I must agree - in comparison to the original Tele this one just looks aged and faded (maybe that's the point though?).

The spikes DO look impotent, wimpey I love the way you phrased that. And the fangs look..well..the opposite of that haha...they're HUGE! I'm still deciding if I like that or not, but fangs alone won't get me to vote for the new one.

Tsume, I love what you've done with the other Teles you mentioned you've worked on, but I just don't like this one =/

I like the old pose and facial expression better... but the detailing on the new one is nicer and more 'mature' looking. I'm voting for the old one, though...

kelpie, Why are you picking on me today?

I didn't pay attention to the Montre revamp post because I only cared about getting gold... err... sP and I didn't care for it as a species. Now that I'm more experienced, I pay attention to the revamps and so far you guys have targeted most of the species I planned on adopting in the near future which is sort of frustrating. Especially when you don't want the revamp to happen.

But whatever, if suggestions -are- getting noticed, here's mine. Recolor the old pose with the same coloring/shading of the new pose and let the people decide from there. And before anyone asks, reason why I'm suggesting this is because the majority will just vote for the new one because it's all -shiney-. They probably don't want/or own a Telenine so they don't care how it effects fans of the breed.

Most of the time it's the lack of shiney scales/skin/fur that causes the old ones to lose the polls. Update the old one to the same shading/color standards but keep the old pose, will make the poll that much fairer and even.

I'm going old for many of the reasons already stated... the spikes look a bit funny one the new one, and the hip and foreleg muscles look... bunchy? I also dislike the whole head turned backwards thing on the new. It's probebly just me but it looks unnatural to my eyes. Anyway... these are just my thoughts, and we willl get what we get!

Hmm, I love the detail on the new one (shading, etc.). At the same time, the fang looks a bit out of proportion, and where the legs join the body is too defined. Very hard decision here... The Chibi wouldn't change any, would it? hugs Arrywl

Ok I asked my Neice she prefered new. I asked my Hubby he prefered old. So I closed my eyes and inni minni minie moed it and Old won. I prefer Lycan's pose and body structure but Tsume's painting and coloring.

what with the paws being almost the size of the head and the detachable legs i voted old. I think if these were improved on however id like it more. I loe the idea of it being stood up though.

I think it improves on the old telenine but needs a second drawing. It looks...akward...something about it makes me squint at it and try to figure out if my eyes are playing tricks. The defining feature of the classic telenine, aside from the fangs, were those jurassic looking spikes. These spikes seem a little...(can I say this?)impotent....compared to the stockiness of the body.
Just a few changes is all it needs. I'm not artist and thus am unable to use the jargon of one, so I hope I made sense. As always, thanks artists for being courageous enough to share your work.

the body isnt long enough to warrant legs that chunky, it looks more like a dog with mismatched legs than the wolfish creature the old one does.

The new one is better, there's no doubt about that, but I still voted for the old one. There's some things that put me off about the new one.

If there were some minor changes to it made then I'd be fine with it.
The first thing that struck me about it it was that it seemed a bit blocky even with that pose and the pose itself is a but unexciting.

I like the fact that the old one is sitting.

Secondly, the new one seems a bit stiff and while I do love the shading on the new one I do agree that there are some areas that seem a bit over-shaded. around the haunches for instance.
The shading that is on it, kind of gives an impression like the legs closest to the viewer are added onto the body and not really part of the body. That's just the impression I get from it.

The old one could've used another layer of shading but this has too many and it's too wavy and swirly...it makes it look shiny and just <i>wrong</i>

I disagree completely Dickie, mainly because of how flat the shading on the old Telenine looks compared to the shading on the new one.

The shading ont he revamped version gives the hair actual texture, the original has very little.

Hmmm I dunno I really kind of prefer Lycan's version. I usually adore any of Tsume's versions of Telenines or any thing she draws she is a genius. I just kind of like the Telenine sitting.
Christine's first version was cool too.
Ugh but they want the pets to match.
What to do what to do?
I will let Hubby pick again.

Oddly enough, Noir, I remember us making lots of changes before the Montre revamp went through, and likewise I believe we're making changes to the Escalade. Someone hasn't been paying attention...

Well, it seriously looks like a pet on another site I can't mention. Subeta's always had cell shading but this pet has the faux cell shading that's too impressionistic and may as well be soft shading.
I don't mind change...I love that the torrent and escalade and bovyne are getting revamped...but those revamps IMPROVED the pets!
Telenine are already highly popular and this revamp seems unneeded.

Not nessasarly NoirRaven, if you take a look at the old montre revamp poll, you'll find that the version that was voted for isn't the version that was released. It was corrected according to the suggestions that were made before it's release.

I think the new one looks a bit boxy through the main section of the body... I think it's just the straight line of the back and how it's above the shoulder, though. Otherwise I like it a lot. o.o The shading is awesome, and I'm pleased by how calm and noble the new pose is. I'll hold off voting for a bit, though, this one IS a tough choice.

I am starting to sound like a broken record when it comes ot these. But yeah, voting for the new, and for the same reason I have voted for the revemp version on a lot of pets: The old Telenine looks cartoony and well, kind of silly looking. The new version looks a lot more professional, and more along the lines of Subeta current artwork.

kelpie, fine, make a whole line of classic potions. Fact is, despite the new one being in the lead, there are MANY Telenine owners/owners to be that prefer the CLASSIC look.
As I said before, all it needs is a color/shading upgrade, not a new pose. Its anatomy was perfect before, now it's seriously flawed. I noticed more mistakes the more I looked at it and the more I read about it.

Oh, and I agree about the old one's eyes looking better...on this one they just don't stand out at all.
Also, this telenine looks like my dad...a 60 year old man...totally not the character I wanted for my telenine XD

I don't think spectrum will be changed as it's drawn by the same artist as this revamp...but I bet the chibi will be changed and I'm not looking forward to getting rid of mine
I was planning on getting a telenine but I heard about this revamp a few months ago so I put it off...I'm glad I did because people almost inevitably vote new on everything.

You know, just because we can revamp all of the old pets, doesn't mean we have to. Some pets do look pretty dang good as they are, even some old ones. shrug

The new art is wonderfully lovely and all, but I just rather perfer the old one. Something in the face/mouth just doesn't look right to me.

I like this redraw. The colors are fantastic, the proportions are correct... the spikes need some work and... it looks sort of odd the way it's head is turned... Kind of like someone stretched its neck and gave it a twist... I'm going to vote for the old one. All it really needs is a color/shading upgrade, it doesn't need a new pose/new eyes.

I agree NoirRaven. I spent so much to get one and am saving to get a Spectrum potion for him, if this goes through I'll be crushed that I have to get rid of him. A Classic potion would be so cool, even if you have to donate to get one.

Yeah, there are too maybe layers of swirly shading...it looks like a cross between Sooki's old pets (which were critisized for too many shading layers) and xoxbrokenxox's shading on items :/
