Interest was like the Stock Market on here, just pumping sP into the system with no balance.

Good riddance.

What will become of the interest cards now? or have they already been taken care of? If not will they be obsolete or re-purposed?

so approx 517 mil? the extra interest is nice, but playing what, 5 games or so will make that up every day. At least with the games, you're actually earning the sP.

Ohh okay, I thought you were referring to the thing a few months ago where staff said the bug was fixed that made Morty Cards work indefinitely. That higher interest rate must have been before my time here. Thanks for explaining :)

Eh, I can make more than what my interest is, and I have a lot, just by playing Memory daily. Looks like I'll just have to go and play that instead unless it gets cut down to nothing.

I get Interest Per Day: 42,551....I have spent so much and then save again. That is why I do so many dailies!

August 13, 2015, 11:24 am by Allegria
User Avatar

I'm against it because not everyone with a lot of sP saved is just hoarding it. I'm saving up for the more expensive weapons for my battle pets and this means it will take that much longer. Watching the interest grow is one of the things that has made saving for those big money items easier as it's a really visible symbol of progress.

But I'm resigned to this change because I know that no matter what I think on any changes on the site, it doesn't matter.

I was one of those people who got the crap end for the random interest. Then when it was equalized for everyone I still never remembered to collect. I will not miss this feature.

I guarantee you that you did not get that hundreds of millions by getting bank interest.

100 mil is what, 8220 sP interest a day? I have found more in random events.

I just don't understand this, why do you deserve to generate sP? You've earned your sP, that's what you've got for earning it. I'm not sure why you should be able to create a million sP daily just because you're an old user.

sorry, didn't mean to ping you, my mouse is acting up, I wanted to answer to

originally, when you signed in, you were randomly given a 5 - 10 % bank interest rate. I don't recall any longer, I think I had 6%, still better than the measly 1 or 2 (only for an exact 24 waiting time, which meant you went without interest sooner or later in between times), which after site rebellion was enhanced to a glorious 3 with the Morty Cards.

This might be one of the least consequential things to happen on subeta and you guys are practically calling for the heads of staff. No wonder they can't implement any changes.

Also, you funny people need to stop clamoring for global solutions that make everyone happier. Just because it slightly inconviences you, does not mean it inconviences the populace as a whole or even the majority. Holy crap I can't believe there's so much hate on here.

Also, the rich getting richer has absolutely nothing to do with any of this. If you have 30 freaking billion, and collect interest daily, you are making just slightly more than questing income. Do not confuse the rich hoarding their precious sP because they have nothing better to do with inflation caused by too much sP supply and not enough sP demand. That's driven by the most basic users, as they generate, by far and away, the most sP. Keith just can't touch their income because he would probably be attacked on sight for the next few months

actually despite my random posts, I'm not opposed to this. No incentive to save up huge hoards of sP = more incentive to spread your money around = better user to user economy = I can sell more stuff = I can save more. it will probably balance out.

I agree that this site is great for people like me (and others who have posted here) who have disabilities and can't be successful in the real world - subeta us kind of like a surrogate for that. I only like interest because it closely mimics the real world, although it should be an annual thing that is rewarded to everyone regardless of if you collect or not.

I did remember to collect. Lol (it was free money and j always remember to take advantage of the free stuff lol).

So... I lose 300k+ a day. Its a pretty significant amount of a daily earning which I admittedly enjoy seeing go up. I just like collecting my sp and I collect my interest everyday. Was still nice to get that sort of reward for saving your sp though.

Then again, I'll just keep working away at it and earning my sp as I have for years. I'll get used to it and get over it and make up for it in other ways. .

- there are, I lost about 20-30k to a RE that steals a percentage of your sP that's not in your vault.

In all honesty, I have no problem with this. And I don't think I would, even if I was collecting 1-2mil a day, or something outrageous like that. sP is rather plentiful, and people who do pull in large amounts daily are just making it more so.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I love how easy it is to make sP on here, but when the richest user has over 30bil, you gotta admit something isn't working, lol.

In REAL life I am much much more poor than most, especially among most people MY age, which is 60. I do NOT own a cell phone, or a home, or a car and not much of anything. My income is below 1000/month and I live in a tiny apt. I'm a widow. Please don't assume that because I'm rich in sP I am rich in real life. Please don't quote me and NOT even ping me or have the guts to say who you are talking about in your quote.

My statements were about THIS game (where I AM rich because I have worked VERY hard to be rich and NOT because of collecting my interest)

This is NOT like the real world where the rich get richer. Anyone who plays here can be as rich as I am. I've only been playing two and a half years and I'm one of the richest on the site. If I can be THAT rich in less than 3 yrs (and I was already rich in only ONE year) then anyone who is willing to save and invest and work hard at this game can become rich. Some people like to build pet profiles and collect things, and I like to be rich in the only place in life that I CAN be rich.

THIS is NOTHING like the real world. I'm disabled and that prevents ME from being rich in the real world, but it does NOT prevent me from being rich in a virtual economy.

ALSO if you read ALL of what I wrote you would see that I am very generous to poor players, I buy things I don't want or need from new users, I buy people presents just because, etc. and in the real world people who are generous often do that for tax breaks, while here I do that to be KIND.

I'm curious, ar there events on Subeta that steal your sP? Because without interest, and without events like that, what do you need a vault/bank for? Could just keep the sP on hand at all times. Lots of games work that way.

I guess maybe to hide it from yourself to keep you from spending it?

August 13, 2015, 10:55 am by Edinburgh

I'm cool with this. Mine is so small anyway I rarely even collect it.

Plus I agree with doing away with "the rich get richer" for no reason. XD

Great change, I quite often forget to collect my interest anyway. It might work in real life but for a site that is struggling to keep sP sinks alive and working, giving out free sP just for putting it into the bank has always seemed really strange to me. Especially when the bank already has the perk of keeping Sebastian Phoenix's nasty paws away from your money.

I'd like to remind everyone to read the community guidelines. People who've collected a lot of sP have played the game and earned their sP. Some people enjoy just having a bunch of sP. :)

I would have suggested that this news post be made and then not allow comments. Seem to have started class warfare for no damn reason.

I'm honestly not overly fussed with losing 150k extra a day, but seeing all the people going on about equality of sP and whatever other crap they can find... Everyone has the same advantages here, the difference is strictly up to the time you can spend playing as far as I am concerned. Either want to earn or you don't.

In the real world I'm not rolling in money, it is nice to be able to go somewhere where I don't have to worry about money because it is easy enough to earn and save. Simple.

August 13, 2015, 10:52 am by Archimedes_580

Well, start working again. You profitted from the interest for a long time. You made a lot of money without doing anything, daily I might add. Now new newers have the chance to catch up. And that´s good. Sorry to kick you from your throne (or not).

First interest reduction, now nothing at all 😞

Well, they never got around to fixing things so that the interest actually was reduced. I've been getting 3% interest since I started playing, after using just one Morty card and collecting interest once :P

I'm good with this change. It's not enough sP lost to affect most of us, and for the rest, it's a good way to stem the flow of sP into the economy (and therefore a good way to increase sP's value). Sorry for those who are complaining, but this change is better for the economy and Subeta as a whole, even if it's an inconvenience for you.

August 13, 2015, 10:49 am by springblom

Well, I like the idea of interest. But I couldn't seem to remember to collect it unless I was about to deposit or with draw money. I guess that's enough to not have complaining rights. haha! :)

August 13, 2015, 10:49 am by GospelTrigger

Seems a little odd, but your reasoning is pretty good. I'm not really affected either way; I barely have any SP in the bank at any point, so the interest is moot, so...

Less than 50 mil in the vault, so no significant loss here. I can see where people with billions saved will be hit hard, but with taxes not being able to touch banked funds, it makes sense to not give out those massive interest payments daily.

Don't forget the overdraft charge! that's usually around $35 - SHEESH thanks subeta for not making it like a real bank!!!! although the interest was nice to collect, but I can live without. and how in the hell do you get morty cards?????
