Aw that makes me sad - I have always really enjoyed trying my hand at the trivia's :(
I definitely 100% agree with why the trivia is being taken down, even if I liked doing them, and I'm excited that more time will be able to be spent focusing on new games!
And yes, the site is changing. The site has always been changing. We release new things yearly, we remove features, we add features, and we tweak features. I know that the trivia is something that a lot of people liked, and I know that it's going to suck for those users that its' gone. However, a relatively small amount of our overall active user base answered the questions weekly, and there were always issues.
We take your feedback very seriously, and if you say that we don't you are really fooling yourself into a negative corner that just isn't true.
I don't think the site is getting unrecognizable at all. A site can become stagnant if changes are never made, and I am happy with most of the changes on here. :) I am always surprised by the number of people on here, not just today, who really don't like change. I think that is a bit odd, seeing that the majority of users are young. Anyway, I will miss the trivia contests, but I have faith that the site as a whole is moving forward for the good ^_^
It is impossible to run a question game like this, weekly, with a userbase the size of Subeta. Instead we can focus our attention on new games, and new content isn't so hotly contested every week.
Dang, I just started a year's worth of Gold Account! I sure hope you don't keep changing everything I like into a sucky site that I'll regret supporting.

Hmmm.... It seems like our opinions don't seem to matter. I mean. With the massive amount of changes you'd think we /might/ get a little say. (I know my comment is quite aggressive, but I've spent money on this site and they are changing /everything/ and I'm quite frustrated that it doesn't seem to matter how I feel or what I think.)
They probably just got tired of coming up with them. XD
Well that really stinks, I loved the trivia. Don't you think you should have taken a poll from your members whether it should be discontinued or not. if you need someone to do trivia I would love to do it, but stop taking things away from us. People are not gonna spend cash if you do crap like this.. bring trivia back. I am only exactly half way achievement for trivia.

D: The Trivia part of the site was pretty awesome, though. Really sad to know that it's going to be discontinued.
So, to at least scare off some of those cheating people and allow everyone else to get the archievements: make it give out items that actually restock (just to have a reward at all) and make it cost a certain amount of sp to paly in the first place.

Would it have killed them to ask the users' opinions about this via poll or something?? There really is no reason to just discontinue it out of nowhere. It wasn't taking up space or doing any harm to the site so why take it off? You're disappointing a lot of people without any real explanation. did you just run out of prize/question ideas or what?

I'm incredibly bummed about this - both the elimination of the trivia and the way it was done. I think subeta has done a good job overall about taking users suggestions' into account and I think it would have been better if there had been some sort of consultation. Or if not, even just some advance warning (a few weeks/trivias worth). Also, the only reasoning given to users (unless you are taking the time to read through these comments) is that the decision was made "after careful consideration."
Then there's the fact that trivia itself is gone. It's sad to see something that has been a part of the site for so long go. Also, since I'm an achievement collector I'm very unhappy that these achievements are being 'retired'. I think that, as some users have suggested here, it would be nice to continue trivias but without the sP/item prize - just the weekly questions. The achievements could continue, and though I suppose cheating would still be possible, it wouldn't be as rampant because it wouldn't benefit users monetarily to cheat.
This is really disappointing. Please, please, please take user feedback (...discontent) into account.
Wow, seriously. Subeta is nothing like Neopets. I play both sites. Have never been warned or anything on here. Been able to save quite a bit of sP here, and only have 200k there.
Just because Trivia is going, doesn't mean it is the end of the world. Come on guys, maybe they have to do this to help with some of the site problems. They dont have to worry about coding the trivia, so they can focus on the problems the site is having. Think about it. It isn't the end of the world.
Aw! I hate this! Also, I was 198/200 for the next achievement! :( I loved doing these - sometimes they were easy, sometimes it was a challenge, but I figured it out eventually, and sometimes I'd have no clue, but I looked forward to these every Friday.
No, Subeta is not like Neopets just yet. Neopets allows you to collect 12.5% interest on your vault balance, and it hasn't tanked that economy too much.

Hm. On one hand I'm sad because Trivia has become a lot easier lately and I was enjoying knowing the answers for once, but on the other hand I understand the reasoning and am happy to see action taken for it.

Aww, I always liked the trivia. The tougher ones often alluded me, but I fondly recall doing them from time to time since I first joined the site. I suppose if there was cheating going on, I can understand why it was discontinued (seems very hard to police that sort of thing), but it is still kinda sad. :(
I'm saddened by this - the Trivia was one of the first things I really loved on this site - but at the same time I understand the reasoning.
There was also coding issues involved. It wasn't taken off entirely due to cheating.
There were other problems then just cheating.

These changes (and whatever may be coming up) is really changing the way we know and love Subeta. It's really super sad D:
Well that's kind of silly. Even if people were cheating, it's not really a good reason to scrap the whole thing entirely.
Let's see, winning the trivia gets you 250 sP and an item that may or may not be relatively valuable if you hang onto it for a few months. Yes, cheating surely throws the entire economy of Subeta into turmoil.
I'm sorry, but it just seems foolish to remove something that was greatly enjoyed by many due to the cheating of a few. I was always looking forward to the next trivia, even if the answer could be found by checking SubetaPedia or some other such reference.
The only people I see agreeing with the decision appear to be users frustrated with the difficulty of some trivias, but even when I couldn't for the life of me figure one out and get the prize I really wanted I didn't once wish the trivia be discontinued.
That's sad.. the one thing I really try to enter.
