I am 100% down with what DebiLee said. In fact, when I heard about this before I logged on I actually said to my dad "I wonder what DebiLee will think." Anyhow, I am incredibly disappointed about this, even the weeks I didn't play I still liked seeing the new prizes and at least giving it a guess. I know we users can be whiney. But I'm sad to see that's one of the main factors in choosing to discontinue it.
Ah, damn it, my heart sank when I read this. Even though I always forgot to do them, I loved the prospect of new books and wearables. I'm sad to see it go.

I did the Trivia ONCE - I was brand new to the site, and answered the question in an accurate but descriptive way (the x shopkeeper - I can't remember which one now) and got it wrong because I didn't use the character's name. Even though it was the same character. Haven't bothered to try again in a full year. Eh. Honestly, I won't miss it.
Aww, that's too bad. While I wasn't particularly good at them, I always liked the trivias and trying for the unique prizes. :)

Huh....was the Trivia Game owned by Hostess? I mean it was always kind of a ding-dong affair, most of the trivia questions were like 'ho-ho-hum' and I could give a twinkie about the prizes. But to see it just go away? I kind of wonder what's going on? ( sorry bout that, punsters gotta pun )

I really don't see how it can be claimed that users' opinions on this aren't being totally disregarded. Look at the number of posts just here in the News comments not wanting this. It simply can't be because of cheating, because cheating has been going on in some form since way back when I added the Trivias; Keith himself even said way back then that it was basically expected in a user base this size and that it wasn't a huge concern. Maybe it's a lack of questions, but I myself made up new Trivia questions alone (often more than just once a week, too) for quite some time, plus there were user submissions pretty much always queued as well. I really, really just don't understand this decision at all. The Trivia was one of the things I loved most about the site, plus an excellent source of information and learning for new players. (The only source, really, since Keith discontinued the Weekly Quiz). I'm hoping that, when Keith sees this flood of support for the Trivia, that he'll possibly reconsider. This is genuinely one of the only decisions ever made (and there have been enough other questionable ones) that has made me unsure as to whether I want to continue to be a member of this site, especially out of the blue, with no form of discussion to at least get the input of the users coupled with the claim that users' opinions aren't being totally disregarded, when they weren't even known until after the fact.
Very unhappy! I spent hours on Subeta, Subeta Lodge, and Subeta Wiki reading and learning and actually finding the answers! It is a shame and should really be reconsidered. :(
Really, really going to miss doing these every week. I've never understood the people that complained about them. If I couldn't figure it out, oh well. I would wait until it closed and then ask in the forums if I didn't understand the answer. By doing that I then was better armed on where to look for future trivia answers. Too hard my left foot. That's why it was called Trivia, not Free Gift. I blame the squealers.
Aaaw, I actually tried on most of the trivia since I started on the site. Some of the math puzzles were just too hard for me to wrap my brain around, but the others were very enjoyable! The challenge was always a great one, especially for the hope of food/book prizes for my Gourmand/battle/everything pet, and of wearables for my wardrobe.
It wasn't just the prizes-- it was the challenge that was fun, of knowing I had read something that the trivia stated /somewhere/ on the site, and then the mad, excited hunt to find it again. I'm gonna miss this game.

Aw, no! I enjoyed learning things about Subeta through the trivia and the excitement of the hunt trying to find the answer searching all around, figuring out the puzzle each week. SO sad! :(

It's a bummer, I really liked trivia, but If it was causing issues and there was a lot of cheating, then it's good you're pulling it. :) Gonna miss frantically running around looking for obscure answers to questions on the site though! xD

The trivia being removed automatically means this is Neopets? Really? Just because one feature is discontinued doesn't mean this site is turning into neopets. I see very little similarities between the two at all. :/
i agree with what said!!! i too am going to really miss out on the site searching, learning fun of the trivia..and its special little prizes :)..to me it was an interactive sitewide game and i dont understand why you couldnt keep it ..screw the blue building in relation to it. it was JUST PLAIN FUN AND A CHALLENGE!! This makes me extremely unhappy. :C Trivia was the only thing I was actually good at on this site and I hate the new Cyrstal Shop; I can never come on in time to catch the restocks I actually want.
ALSO: aw, I liked the exclusivity of the old trivia prizes. Made me feel special lol. Oh well. I've been playing Subeta a lot less recently anyway.
instead of making it so everyone who answers correctly gets a prize, you could limit it to the first X amount of people. (Maybe under 25 if it's a time sensitive issue?)
That way, the prize will still remain valuable regardless of how they figured out the answer.
Everything I like about subeta anymore seems to be changing to something I don't or being gotten rid of entirely. R.I.P Trivia. =/

It's a shame because I really enjoyed the feature and was finally getting the hang of finding answers (the proper way!). But rather than being mad at staff, people should really be mad at the other users who ruined the feature by cheating and complaining incessantly about the trivias. And I'm really not sure what polling the site would accomplish. Oh look, everyone votes keep the time-consuming feature overrun with cheating. Sometimes staff has to make changes without user input for the good of the site because they have more information than us and a better handle on what's really going on. Still sad, but totally understandable in this case and not really the end of the world.

I sincerely hope this decision wasn't made because of cheaters, if people cheat and share the answer then they only hurt themselves by making the prizes more numerous and less valuable.
Aww man, I am upset. I looked forward to the trivia each week. I worked really hard to find the answers to those questions and got most of them correct. I don't know why these changes keep coming about and I know that there are probably behind the scene situations we don't know, but I am getting tired of all these changes being implemented and "us", the members, not being considered to ask our opinions beforehand. We DO support the site with OUR money, and it isn't right to keep changing things without considering how it makes everyone feel.
Aww, I'm actually going to miss the trivia. I looked forward to it every week and it actually forced me to interact with parts of the site that I probably would never have visited. :(

While I didn't overly enjoy the trivia all the time I did like having that as a part of the site that I could attempt to do when I felt like it. Now there is yet another tier of achievements I cannot ever get. I'm not going to throw a tantrum over it or anything just a bit disappointed it's going away.
Meh. I think the idea is a bummer, sure, but people who are whining about subeta being different, that's a really good thing. Things that don't grow will die. In order for subeta to continue and strongly, changes need to be made. I however do agree with the poor choice of prize relocation. The Crystal Shop is too difficult to obtain things from, lest the prices are low (being that it was knowledge-based prizes anyway).

I liked the trivia even when I was really bad at it. I was getting better lately but oh well. Hope to get more ways for prizes and Crystal shop is not my fave place but..oh well. ^__^ I'll miss you Trivias!
Add me to the group who is extremely disappointed with this change, mostly about the fact that there goes more achievements I can never get. sigh Would be really happy if we could have trivia just for the achievements, with no prizes.
