still not possible to buy CSC through paypal. I'm sad. what exactly is the issue though? It used to work always
[center]
Once you click the "Buy CSC" link, it'll take you to the Kumos Subeta page to buy CSCs. Click the amount you're after, "Buy X CSC." The next page is hosted by Stripe. You'll see the buttons for card or bank account, but up ABOVE that, if you're eligible, it'll show you your other payment options (for example, I have a big black GPay button).
PayPal isn't working with us at all. It's something on their end, but they seem uninterested in resolving the issue.
Well, I'm not eligible as it seems. As I said, there is only card or bank account as an option. So sadly no buy option for me.
Unfortunately, we have no control over geographic limitations for some of the payment options. :( We'd really LIKE to be able to have PayPal working again, but it's out of our hands.
I used PayPal for years on here but am now using ApplePay. That button shows up at the top for me but it is very, very slow to load. If there’s an option you think should have access to maybe try to give it a little extra time to load.
- it’s really too bad PayPal isn’t being more helpful in sorting this issue. Certainly not good business sense for them. I’m really pleased I found the ApplePay option that works for me.

Not all those who wander are lost ~ JRR Tolkiencan we just like. remove the PayPal buttons so unsuspecting users aren't blindsided by the issue ever few weeks?
also wondering if Y'all have tried bringing it up on Twitter? I have a feeling if you @'ed them and linked it on the news we could get at least a few hundred likes/retweets to spread it around. public shaming seems to do a whole lot more to get these companies moving verses Being Decent People. especially when it comes to losing out on business for almost a year now over "but I don't wanna!" for no foreseeable reason?

Exactly. I even gave those "annoyed but not outright pissed" token responses to make sure Subeta looks professional / better than PayPal.
I think people think that if you're not raising a stink about it publicly, you aren't putting more effort toward the problem.
I see that it is still possible to access the page where PayPal is an option if you go the roundabout way through the link on the Item Cash Shop page. Whoops! That should get fixed here shortly, with all "Buy CSC" options linking to the newer page on Kumos Subeta to avoid confusion.
Hey everyone -- we had no idea that this page was even still up. I've gone ahead and taken it down, with a link to the appropriate page.
In terms of how we're approaching this issue with PayPal -- it's complicated. Believe me, I'm absolutely happy to rake a company over the coals on twitter, if I think that it'll provide outcomes (and not result in worse outcomes). If you do a quick google, you'll see the kind of things that happen to PayPal accounts when someone complains or reaches out publicly. They get frozen for the absolute longest amount of time, legally, they can freeze the funds. It is very common for PayPal to do this.
In terms of what is going on, again, it's complicated. PayPal used to be owned by eBay, which also bought Braintree to be a payment processor for their entire empire, as well as an API that folks could use easily to take payments that INCLUDED (but didn't need to have!) paypal. Over the last few years, PayPal has been split off from ebay, and Braintree has been split off entirely. It's now not clear what 'value' it has in the world, and the API and improvements have slowed down. At the same time, PayPal started pushing (and is now forcing) companies to move to their "all in" payment processing, meaning if we wanted to process credit cards they would have to be processed through PayPal. And we'd have two cuts taken on it, one from the payment processor ($.40 minimum and then a % fee of the total amount) and one from paypal (a % fee from the total amount). I don't think that's fair, and I also don't think we can sustain Subeta if we're forced to pay vendors like that, and in a situation where the could increase the fees down the road. Again, I encourage folks to google PayPal horror stories.
I'm going to attempt to go one more round with our braintree representative to see if there is any reason for us to continue our relationship with them, and if there isn't, we'll likely just not able to take Paypal in the future :( It's a bummer, and I'm really sorry.

... Oh.
I hadn't realized it was that bad now.

With the explanation - Honestly, that well and truly sucks, and Paypal sucks for it. Even if the minimum CSC purchase was raised to 10$, it wouldn't be worth it.
Sorry! I did not realize there was that many fees. I like the new pay option any way! 😊
Believe me. I do not want to stand in the way of y'all spending money to buy CSC on the site. There is nothing more that I would like than for that to be the most frictionless and easy process ever imagined.
Unfortunately, PayPal does not really want to be a partner in that haha

if paypal did end up disappearing as an option to purchase CSC, would it still remain for those who have active subscriptions (through paypal)?

I understand the situation is frustrating, for all sides involved. But there is this one thing that you can do in this situation and that is to keep us posted. A quick message saying that you are still on it, nothing new or anything really. Radio silence for months again adds a lot to the frustration on my (our) part. Lack of communication is the worst thing you can do to your customers - be it Paypal or Subeta. So thank you for making time to leave a message here.
What I don't understand, why do subscriptions still work fine via PayPal?
If paypal disappears, there doesn't seem to be an option for European users to buy CSC anymore. Number one Subeta ceased to accept foreign CreditCards in the first place. And then, as mentioned before, I for example don't have one any longer, because I don't travel anymore and am not willing to pay € 80.00/year (or most probably more nowadays) for one solely to buy CSC.
Very unfortunate circumstances for both sides. I'm soooo glad now, I at least have a subscription... I at least need all the books, that come out and my challengers.
Buying CSC with sP isn't an option, either, because the economy ist completely ruined - also by Subeta itself, making old and retired stuff completely worthless and on the other side pushes other items from very hard to get to unobtainable. Look at item prices in user shops!!! Everythig around 2k. Rares and sRs 50 to 70k!?! Off topic, but I believe, Subeta should once again do a mass purchase of all those (tons) of underpriced items...
The link to buy CSC in the official cash shop page was the "roundabout" way??? xD
It's complicated! The subscription feature in Braintree is something that hasn't been replicated completely (to the degree we use it) in the PayPal API / Software Development Kit. I assume they'll change that at some point, and force migrations or continue to break things like they've done in the regular purchasing flow.
I'm chatting with our rep later this week, will let you know what I learn!
I'm really confused by what you mean. We accept credit cards via stripe, which accepts most world currencies.

At one point the 'non-paypal payment' page (possibly the stripe page - not too sure now!) said it wasn't for international cards (that notice vanished a while ago, but there'd not been any official notice to say otherwise)

Yet, as mentioned, this is purely hypothetical, since until I resume going abroad, I'm not investing in a Credit Card again, anyway.
Nobody I know is familiar with Stripe... it does exist - rofl, obviously, and their loooong pretty confusing explanation page(s) mentions PayPal as means to pay via stripe. Weird.
I'm just very uneasy with pecuniary online activities to start off with...
