At first I was like, "Wow, the new breed looks amazing! The grayscale preview didn't do it justice. I need a couple of these!"

Then I saw the scrolls cost gems and we don't even get a free one from Galore or anything to celebrate and I was disappointed, because of course I was. But not surprised because Stormcatcher is the most capitalist dragon on FR.

Then I saw they have robot genes and I forgot my disappointment. I need an army of these, no matter the cost!

A gold account type system would be so good! I'd totally buy a subscription if they ever come out with one ^0^ I've not bought gems yet, in my 4 years playing. Mainly because I've been able to find ways to make them without buying. BUT they are coming out with new breeds so fast these days. And I like to splurge my gems on making a pair when they come out with new breeds. My gems are dwindling very quickly 😭 lol

If you're looking at it from the perspective of the Cash Shop, totally! Super reasonable! But when you're looking at it from a CW stand point, definitely not. At least, not in my opinion. Spending an average of $5-$5.50 on a single wear is wild to me 😅 I am very grateful for the price adjustment they did but I do still feel like it's so much money for one single wear. (Coming from a user who has way too many fucking CW's lol - Meeee lol)

I'm about to make a pair for the new breed, and going to spend $25 for them, in gems dies And I doubt I will make that back and if I do it will probably take me like a whole year lol. And that's only because I'm using treasure genes for the Primary and Secondary dies more It's just wild to me how much genes are. It also bugs me SO much that the gem genes are more expensive for modern dragons. LIKE WTF? Please explain why DX

Nice but not fab I think, LOL. I like one of the new markings, though, the one which looks like diamonds. I haven't played around much with it today, still have to. We are very occupied at the moment with rescuing the garden after the 4 weeks away, here was so much heat.

So, I made some designs and I like this combo I think. The branches are a nice adornment. It looked nice in Amber, too.

And yes, totally hot here, the garden looked totally burned and some plants straight died. Including my monkey tail tree which is really sad. I am going to plant a lot more ground-cover plants now but my, they are really costly when you need many of them. So we are still pondering options.....

I think they have a lot of really nice genes! Unfortunately, I'm obsessed with Augment and none of the primary/secondary genes go very well with it. I keep making scries with Basic primaries because everything else usually just detracts from it. I'm actually more upset that they didn't give us Metallic/Alloy for these guys than that they cost gems. It was so obvious that we were going to want to make robots and Metallic/Alloy were RIGHT THERE, it's such a huge oversight on their part!

Well anyway, here's my first pair: I still need Marlin for the baby and that's a random coli drop so who knows how long I'll be waiting for that. Marlin and Sailfin are amazing genes though, I'd love to see those expand to other breeds (as well as Augment, of course).

Gonna be honest, my first reaction to seeing Branches on these was that it's super out of place. But then I considered how these sandsharks "swim" around under the sand and imagined one hiding just under the surface with only the little shrub sticking out and realized it's a perfect gene for them! Now I'm left wondering why Veils have them lol

I must really be playing wrong because I just can't figure out how anyone makes enough free gems to really do anything with them. I know you can trade treasure for them but I don't have enough treasure to spare for that either lol

Yep. I regularly buy both CS items and CWs and my cash goes pretty far here, but admittedly I'm quite choosy about CWs and the vast majority don't appeal to me so I'm lucky in that regard.

All right, I finally stopped complaining long enough to pry open my wallet and buy $100 worth of gems...we'll see how far those go. Especially since I already picked out like 10 G1s I want to convert to Sandsurges lol

Oh! I think I can explain why genes are cheaper for ancients. I believe it was explained that since ancients have some limitations that don't apply to moderns (wearing apparel, breeding with other breeds) you get a discount on the genes. Or maybe I made that up, I'm not sure, but it kinda makes sense to me.

That was totally my idea, besides sparkle who is just a little accent there is no other sparkling / shining gene and it would fit the robot parts very good. Perhaps make a petition for it in the forums? I am sure many will join!

It rained several hours yesterday here and the grass looks a lot greener already, amazing. I am really sad for the little tree, though, and it was even palnted at the north side of the house by the former owners. It is still small, 100 cm high, perhaps still sensitive to dry spells.

I already got a Sailfish scroll while training fodder! Unfortunately what I really need right now is Marlin but I'm still happy to get it, I'll find a use for it. And hopefully that means they're both not too rare.

Yes you're right, I don't know why I suddenly decided I need to apply too much logic to a fantasy dragon game lol. Usually I don't worry too much about stuff like that. I think Branches just hit me funny at first because I'm definitely only thinking of Sandsurges as robots, but most of them are indeed regular dragons. It even looks like a desert shrub so it's actually a really good fit for them.

I feel your pain looking for those petals. I'm currently trying to collect enough Black Tulips to purchase the Black Tulip Flowerfall from Swipp (achievement, of course) and it takes so many! 250! Yeah I kinda feel bad smashing innocent critters too but at least the Blooming Grove is pretty to look at. I'm always stuck in the Mire training fodder and it's so boring lol

I quite like Diamondback and Rattlesnake but I haven't found a way I want to use them yet. They look so nice on your scries though! I just really like the particular way that some colors display in Marlin, it looks like anodized metal and suits my robots fairly well (especially in the absence of Metallic/Alloy).

I'm not sure but from comments I've read, it sounds like you can get the genes in any venue. I found Sailfish in the Mire so I assume I could get Marlin there too. I hope so!

This scry looks great! Perhaps wait a week to see if they implement a more metal looking gene additionally?

I really like the way Marlin looks on my scries so I'll probably stick to that for the secondary on those, but I'm desperate for Metallic for the primary! Just nothing really works. The closest to metal is Wasp and it adds a bunch of extra lines that detract from the tert.

I went ahead and used it for one of my sandborgs but it's kind of meh. Which is not how I want to feel after spending 750 gems lol. I'm hopeful that I can sell some babies from my pairs though (yes I really am building an army lol) to make up for it. I think people will be ok with how it looks because everyone knows we don't have a lot of options for these guys right now.

Yeah with other users. I don't know, I've never done it but everyone says it's easy to acquire gems with treasure so I guess that's what they mean. I hate having to engage in direct trades with other users and I know I'm holding myself back because of that but I'm just really stubborn. I'd rather spend actual money than deal with unnecessary interactions with strangers.

Another thing that saves me a lot of money on CWs is that half the time when I do actually see something I want, it's locked behind a password I'll never get because I'm not a cool kid and I don't have the right connections. Or it's sold out 30 seconds after release because for some reason the releaser thinks it's necessary to limit them to five total on site.

I'd be totally fine with them all being the same price if modern genes were lowered to the ancient price but modern gene pricing came first so I suspect they'd just raise the price of ancient genes if they got badgered into making them the same for fairness lol

I often traded with other users already, you can do it easily in the forums. They post their change ratio and then you send a CR with treasure and they offer gems.

Your dragons are very beautiful and unique, you both. I love how the blue comes out in the green, very lovely, and Marlin seems to fit the robot parts very well!

Often, there is only old-fashioned slotting when CWs are locked and the slotting groups are public. Only a bit tedious of joining them all, LOL.

Oh, silly me, I confused it with Felisfire. The new species has no species-changing candy so far, you have to hatch them through eggs only. Mostly, 1 gem = 1000 treasure; at the moment, 987 I think. It is in the item sales forum threads.
