Yeah, it looks perfectly good to me with the full set. I don't know why the bright pink un-matching alt never bothered me with Noxtide; I guess I matched it with a magenta primary or tert or something. The way it fades is less in-your-face than the Lionfish stripes. I actually sorta wish Radioactive always had magenta instead of that purple it usually has.

How come the more I look at Eyeburny the Clown up there (my last example), the more I kind of want him? He's awful and he belongs in my toxic lair lol

100% agree! I'll try to spare you a rehash of my whole "gem items are way overpriced" rant but $20 to change the breed of one dragon is absurd. And people over there act like getting gems without spending cash is easy but I don't see it, not in quantities like that. I guess I'm just spoiled by Subeta's economy and very reasonable pricing structures.

How are you guys doing with achievements? 657 here currently. People have already surpassed 700 somehow and I simply cannot figure out how. Most of what I have left is time-gated (like waiting for annual festivals or being limited by how many trivia questions you can answer per day) and I even had a pretty decent head start on a lot of them (e.g. anything that counted doing dailies retroactively). Breeding, exalting and expanding my lair seem to be where I'm really lagging behind but I don't think those can account for so many points...

I am slow with achievements. Not even got all my tokens, LOL. I am not into Subeta achievements, too (at last when there isn't a nice prize for it I want), so that's not new, we all know that.... ROFL

Economy is really hard there. The one and only time I really made some gems was when the Abbies were released, people went totally crazy and actually bought the hatchies for the price I really needed to compensate for gening up the parents. Never happened before and also not later with Undertides or Aethers and my pairs are really cute and all gem gened.

It is much too pricey to gem gene a new pair even when ancient and not get at least the money back you spent. So I only did one pair of Aethers so far, I would love more bc the sprites are really lovely.

That's fair, we all have different priorities and ways of playing! I'm super into achievements in general (here, FR, Steam, etc.) and I can't even explain why because I'm not active/popular enough anywhere for "showing off" to be feasible. I really just like watching numbers go up for my own satisfaction lol

It sure is. I find trying to participate in the market there to be a total nuisance too. I've been listing cheap junk auctions just because the cheevs are making me do it and I hate it, it's so clunky and inconvenient. I really wish we could just have shops the way we do here. Then there's the fact that the market there often feels kind of...sparse? Like, there are so many users but for a lot of items there are few copies available, if any at all, and they're often prohibitively expensive. FR loves retiring things (like after every festival) and making them hard to get for some reason. It makes the game a lot less fun for those of us who haven't been there since its inception. Woe is me, I shall never collect the sprites. :( lol Adds to the "gatekeepy" feeling of the site. Again, I've been spoiled by how amazing Subeta is about making things accessible (cough except godly weapons cough). Values there also seem to fluctuate a lot, presumably since the small inventories of items available on the AH at certain price points sell out quickly. I'm by no means an economist but something about FR's market feels rather unbalanced and underdeveloped to me, as if it was a new site still figuring itself out.

I've never even bothered trying to list anything for gems because I can barely ever sell anything even when it's competitively priced for treasure. I keep trying to sell some of my nicer hatchies now that I'm breeding them and I sold a couple when achievements first came out, but nothing since then. Admittedly, I don't sell for fodder price because I'd rather just train them up and exalt them myself so I aim for like 15k (slightly less than I'd get from exalting) which to me isn't a lot for a derg I intend to keep. I think nothing of spending up to 50k for one I really like so I figure it shouldn't be that hard to sell some for 15k but I'm not getting any bites.

Well, I think the Lightning ancient is coming out soon and it seems to be highly anticipated...maybe you'll have some luck selling sparkies? I'm surprised your Aethers didn't do well though, I think a lot of people love Aethers (I'm one of them!). Undertides do seem a bit forgotten already though.

I soooo wish we would have a shop system like here in Sornieth, too. It is so demanding listing all these items singulary! And check prices before.

Also, it would be lovely to have a search function when sending gifts via message center, too. You have to go through all the stuff and even when you bought the item seconds before it is perhaps somewhere in the middle of the listed items bc FR lists them after item IDs.

Yes, I am looking forward to a new species, perhaps it sells better. Not for my income but for gifts and contests, LOL.

Lol that's a relief because I feel like I really do complain a lot here (and I'm sorry for that, I promise I really do enjoy FR or I wouldn't be there at all, nor would I bother criticizing it). I think it really does just come down to being spoiled by Subeta and always comparing the sites. If I had never known anything else I wouldn't have such high expectations. Like jeez, Neopets used to be terrible (still is, but it used to be too) and I struggled so much in that economy and user interface back in the day but I just did it without expecting it to change because it's not like there was an alternative. And website coding wasn't as complex back then anyway so they kind of had an excuse. Now that I've experienced all of Subeta's wonderful little QoL features I really notice when they're missing from other sites.

Oh well, at least they lowered the Shock Switch achievement score requirement from 1,000,000 to 700,000. I didn't even expect them to do that but now I know they are willing to make changes. Baby steps lol

The best way I've been able to make gems is from bonding with familiars and getting the chests. But I'm just about out of those, before I have to buy ones I don't have yet or farm for them. So it's gonna get tough soon on that 😭 I've been trying to breed dragons and sell the hatchlings for gems. It's working out somewhat ok but it sometimes takes for freaking ever for dragons to sell. Even on here, I feel like the dollar amount you spend for how much csc you get is outrageous.

Yep, same here, chests from fams have been my only consistent source of free gems but I'm done bonding with all but the most recent ones so that income is dwindling. And of course there's the one whole precious gem you get every day from keeping your dragons fed...which is nice, but that's not going to buy me any Coatl scrolls lol

I do buy gems occasionally, especially if there's a new UMA I want. I don't begrudge a site for trying to make money and I know they need and deserve monetary support to keep doing what they do. I just don't feel like your real cash goes anywhere near far enough there and that discourages me from spending more. Also, I've been thinking, I really wish they had a gold account type system there. I would be so happy to pay for an ad-free experience! Of course I block ads on PC but it's a lot harder to do on mobile. I just find ad banners so intrusive, obnoxious and frankly trashy to see on any website. They are instantly repulsive to me and make any site with ads feel scammy and unsafe. I don't know why they don't just offer a premium account option to help subsidize the site and then stop being so greedy with the price of genes and stuff. They would get more money out of me more consistently while at the same time making me feel better about the site, win-win. I can't be the only one who feels this way.

I feel like the amount of CSC you get for your dollar on here is very generous, especially when you buy in bulk and get the bonus, but it's probably another case of us having different experiences for comparison. How far your money goes also very much depends on how you spend it here. I think cash shop stuff is mostly very reasonable but CWs can be pretty pricey, especially if you like to collect all the color variants of an item. They've gotten a lot more reasonable with the price restructuring (and the fact that I get three free vouchers every month with my subscription) but I think they still tend to be more expensive than comparable CS items. That makes some sense to me though. It's totally backwards to me that the official FR cash shop is priced so stupidly high that it can cost you THIRTY-NINE ENTIRE DOLLARS to fully gene one dragon (never mind breed scrolls or eye vials, that's just three gene scrolls), but custom skins made by users (the FR equivalent of CWs) are usually only $5-$7.50. calms down and breathes Ugh I am SO agitated by those prices, man! God I'm sorry for the rants lmao
