You always make such interesting sounding food!!!

I prefer to clean alone or with help too. I hate when whoever is around doesn't help

Oops gotta go get Nathan now. Figures. Just when I get back on...oh well

I definitely prefer cleaning when there's no one around... as a matter of fact, I really HATE cleaning when there's people here, because I just can't get into it then.

Tomorrow is back to school for everyone though, and honestly, I'm sad? Like.. without all teh drama from school and school related things and the people they see at school and etc... I like having them around.

You had a very short break! I go back to work Wednesday, but the kids don't come back til next Monday. I also get to go to the dentist again Wednesday to get a filling. yay :P

School can add extra drama for sure, with some kids. Shane seemed to always have drama at school. Nathan did in middle school. Katie, meh, well she sorted out her own drama, I usually heard about it from her, after it was over & done with lol

I did the dishes just now, after a run up to put some cash in the bank. Seems AT&T is charging me this month. $35. Ok thats what I expected-ish - until that lady told me my bill would be ZERO last month...so I wasn't expecting to be charged today!! Good thing I had some cash left. Maybe I won't get charged next month is what she meant? I will wait and see, and if I get charged next month I'll call to verify what is NOT being applied since she said she applied my Connectivity and something else THEY give (Connectivity is the govt program) and my bill would be zero. No big deal if I DO have to pay $35, I would just like to know for sure so I can have it in my budget!! Sheesh.

Shane is getting ready to go back out on his truck. So guess I'll be running him up there soon...(He is packing things up and putting them in my car)

This is the longest break we've ever had! Normally we go back the 2nd, but this year it's the third haha. So a half day on the 23rd-2nd. Not a bad break?

lily has a LOT of drama in/with school. Plus their classes, homework, Els AP and dual enrollment classes.. it's just a lot. And Lilys is all friend/enemy drama. Which.. I'm over ad have BEEN over for the longest time!

I just need to run to the grocery store.. and to get Lily a sheet? today. Or maybe tomorrow. IDK. We'll see.

Shane's was all friend to enemy drama too. Or boyfriend/girlfriend to ex. Ugh. Drove me nuts. Sometimes the parents even got involved it was so stupid. (like, he texted this girl ON THE WEEKEND, something he shouldn't have and her mom brought it up to the school. excuse me? He got told off to stay away from the girl at school - and then SHE would purposly walk by him and try to engage HIM to get him in trouble) sigh.

bbs!

Yeah, that sounds about right.

lily doesn't want to go back because of all teh Jacob stuff. And her dad apparently sent the guidance counselor like, 12 e-mails about Lily making things up etc etc etc. So the guidance counselor emailed me and was like "Look, this is what's going on, this is what I'm letting everyone know. Please continue to let Lily know she's done the right thing". But like.. ughhhhhhhhhhh.

Plus, apparently friends/ex friends are calling her the new whore of the school which like.. she's in 9th grade and she's only ever kissed boys. So she's.. not thrilled at all and super upset about all of that.

It's just always something.

Plus the play rehearsals start tomorrow! Every Tuesday and Wednesday. Which is fun, but also.. Jacob and some other people that were friends are now in the play because she convinced them to join and uhhhh.. not very friendly. So.. yeah.

Ugh teenagers are awful :( Poor Lily.

So anyway about the break thing - see, our last day was Dec 20th (we don't do half days tho the highschool does them the last 3 days of each term, ugh), kids don't come back til Jan 9th. Soooo like, they got 13 "school" days off, and 19 total days if you count weekends too. So going from the 22nd to the 2nd seems short to me LOL

I am not looking forward to Nathan's classes this upcoming semester. I know he has TWO english classes, one with Godat (the teacher I had for my college english class)...which I like, but ugh still. He has one other academic class, and one elective. Can't remember what. I can only hope he passes the three academic classes. At this point, I am beyond caring if he passes electives or non-academic classes or not. Just pass what you HAVE to pass, and graduate please. (Yes, I WOULD much prefer you to pass ALL classes, and with something better than a 70, but ... if you pass, you pass). And it is beyond me what this child is going to choose to do if/when he graduates in a year and a half because he like, has no interest in ANYTHING. And I refuse to let him get a job if he's going to fail classes, because he needs to focus on that. So...at the point he graduates he is going to have to get a job to help support himself, and he has NO INTEREST in anything, so how will he choose a good job for himself? ugh. He will probably end up in fast food or restaurant work, which is really fine with me, but unless you LIKE that kind of thing, its not really a good job.. I just need to think to myself it will all work out the way it needs to, and try to not think about it too much eh?

Yeahhhhh... D quit her fast food job even, so she's doing.. nothing? Barely surviving.

Thankfully since Lily got on the meds, her grades have been really great again this year, since she's actually.. doing her schoolwork and homework. And that's ALL she needed to do the last two years, was just.. turn assignments in!

I'm not too worried about Frell, thankfully. But they do need to just.. finish strong and not burnout. And SEND IN THE DAMNED COLLEGE APPLICATIONS.

Does she WANT to go to college? Then yes, she needs to send in applications. :P But if not, then its ok. And honestly, if she changes her mind, local collages will accept you last minute anyway. I started SCTC literally the day classes started. LOL

I was curious since I was talking about it and went to IC to look - So Nathan passed his 3 academic classes - Biology (10th grade science) (73), Algebra (70) and US History (78). Writers Workshop (the elective, which the teacher claimed he was put in to help him with his English class NEXT semester) he got a 27. Next semester he has American Literature (Godats class - 11th grade english), 10 Grade Literature, Spanish, and Chemistry. He had to repeat Biology and 10th grade Lit from last year. A 70 is barely passing. But he passed. I am not sure, is Chemistry considered math or science? LOL

You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here! Keep talking to me Mieke!! I am on a roll, that is 4 in two days! :P

Nathan would have had better grade in the Writers Workshop had he TURNED IN HIS ASSIGNMENTS. Same with History. He told me once his history teacher literally watches him put his work in his bookbag and leave class. Whaaat??? TURN THAT CRAP IN!!!

Yes, she does :P But she needs to get in early to get the most financial aid because uh... she really needs it.

Chemistry is science haha.

RIGHT.. like.. YOU DID IT. JUST TURN IT INNNNNNNN.

Oh gosh, congrats!!

I hear you on needing financial aid. I would not be in college if I didn't have it. I have been so super lucky, especially with the covid funds being given. I got another $300 in November from that :o AFTER they said they weren't giving any more out unless you applied. I did not apply. Maybe they didn't have anyone apply? No idea. So like, literally I have been paid back most of what I've spent since I started. - including my book costs! Of course, I know that won't happen after this upcoming year. This year, since I am doing 3 classes, my financial aid covers all but like $35 of the tuition, and then I just have to buy my books (which this semester is all cengage online - so $140 for 4m or $190 if I choose to get 12m, depends on what other classes I decide to take and if they require cengage books or not). I was like WHAT? If I'd known that I may have tried 3 classes in other semesters. Sheesh. Not that $120 a semester was bad either - but still!

Katie has taken out some student loans since she's at a different college and taking more classes at once, so her financial aid didn't cover all of it, let alone books. She did apply for that student loan forgiveness govt program, but thats being held up right now, so we will see what happens with that. I will have to take out student loans once I start the other college. It costs more. There are grants/scholarships I can apply for which I will - some of them come with conditions tho - like the one thru my school system that requires me to work for the school system 1yr per scholarship I get....its a $1000 scholarship tho, and since i PLAN on working for the school system anyway.... Also I have knowledge that if I work for a title 1 school for 5yrs (which every school in my county is) then I can get 80% of my student loans paid off! Soooo yea. I am excited about that, even tho I am leery about student loans lol

Edit: 3 Morty Cards, 2 Amulets, 85 NY Tokens (3 from RE's), 90 Crystals, and not quite 4mil sps. Best Item so far, from Drunk Carl [item2=Mor Apeel Leg Wraps] Which I found funny since I got the Apeeling fruit from the Ikumoradeekanox tree. Now moving to battle and then drills.

Oooh, not bad for questing! Pretty darn good, actually!

Yeah, E is DEFINITELY going to need loans and a lot of scholarships, etc. Which sucks but.. it is what it is. And she'll probably work in a Title 1 school too, if she gets a place around her, so that'll help.

And they've got a full semesters worth of credits done already, with dual enrollment and AP classes, which is great!

So E is going for education? Maybe try looking around and doing like I am - a tech school for finishing the basics and if they have a program like mine for some of the beginner education classes? Costs less before you get into the more expensive education program. There are also so many online classes. Just make sure the education college she ends up wanting to go to takes classes from wherever she starts. I am lucky that Mercer takes over 90% of SCTC classes. E (and Katie) were so lucky to be able to do dual enrollment and get college credits during high school! I wish I could have done that. I told Katie (and the boys not that it mattered to them) that if they wanted to go to college they would have to pay thier own way or get scholarships/grants because I don't have $ and don't believe I should pay for my child's schooling. Would I, if I had the $? Sure. Would I feel obligated? No. They want the education, they pay for the education. I want an education, I pay for my education. (And as I said, totally different story had I tons of extra $)

The tech school is 2 hours away, and almost the same cost as the private college is, since it's only 5 minutes away. And then none of her classes that she's already taken would transfer. And she can't do on-line because uh.. she's awful at it. So needs in school places.

So. Yeah. Haha. Plus, you get an extra 10 percent off if you live in the county that the school is in, which really brings the credits down to being about the same. So it's not really worth it for her to just go take the math classes at the community college, though we did look into all of it!

Ahhh well. It was worth looking into, because you don't know until you try. I do very good at online I have found. I was concerned about it, but its worked great for me. But yea, Nathan sucks at online. Katie did ok with it but found she prefers in person classes plus most of the ones she had/wanted to take were in person classes only anyway due to the type. Interesting you get a discount for going to a college in your own county. I am not aware of any discount like that around here. But maybe because I am doing online classes? I don't know.

Quite lucky, especially if it is that close to where you live! :) Thats another thing I like about online hahahah I don't have to drive anywhere. I chose to, for Godats class - I could have stayed home and done it online. SCTC isn't very far away (less than 10min drive). Mercer's campus in the next county is about 15-20min drive so that won't be bad for any in person sessions I have to do (which, if I understood it, I will be required to do 1 class in person per week per class - which is what I was doing for Godat) Not bad. The main campus is in Macon, which is a 45min drive (sometimes more, depending on traffic). So I will prefer to go to the Henry County Campus if I can. I will be doing 2 classes per "term" so - 2 nights a week, or maybe I can arrange them to be the same night and only go once lol

We'd have to go two counties over to get to a community college LOL. And all the way through them!

So it's just so much. Like, I drove 45 minutes to school and that was a lot

I have no idea what makes a school a community college vs a private college. I only know SCTC is a tech school because it has programs designed to get you into the work force vs get you a bachelors degree. (they only do 2yr degrees). Not to mention it literally has Tech in the name (Southern Crescent Technical College)

In my county, we have campus's for SCTC, UGA and umm one other I forget what. In neighboring counties, we have more SCTC campus's, Mercer, Gordon and I don't remember what other ones. (UGA is University of Georgia). They have main campus's elsewhere, we do not have the main campus. Like UGA's main campus is actually in Athens, GA, which is like about 2hrs away? SCTC I think we do have the main campus, but there are smaller campuses in at least 3 other counties nearby. Mercer has at least 4 campus's nearby - the one in Henry County, one in Atlanta, the main one in Macon, and one ummm I forget where again lol But further away from me than Henry County.

Everyone was telling me to go to Gordon or Mercer - but when I started, Gordon only does K-12 education, and Mercer didn't have openings for the birth-K program. I was excited when I found out they DID still have openings, just not at the main location I was looking at originally :P PO'd that I missed that. But oh well, still better to have started at SCTC and spent less $ anyway.

Yeah, if that's an option, it can really be a great one!

El took off the ornaments, and I took all the garland and picked up the few other decorations we put out this year. Really didn't go all out. So now there's just.. the tree and the lights. Mostly because I can't reach to take them down, but also, I'm not sure if I'm ready to take the lights down yet :P
