Yea, your kids are still young enough to TOT. Katie TOT'd til she was 19 hahahah!! She was tiny enough to get away with it, plus the neighborhood we went to was fine with teenagers being involved (some get so rude when the kids are older! I'd rather they TOT than go do something bad!!). But last year, Nathan either didn't go at all? Or was that the year he went with a friend downtown. Hmm. That might have been the year before and last year was nothing. I am not sure anymore. Either way, he wants to do a party so I don't think he plans to go TOT. I always thought it was fun to give out candy. I did it as a teenager a few times, when my mom and dad took my baby brother around to TOT, I stayed home and gave out candy. And like I said, in the trailer park we lived in when Shane was a toddler I'd pass out candy - before/after we TOT'd with Shane. The first year or two we only had to go thru half the trailer park and have a FULLLLLL pumpkin bucket. The last year we did it, we had to go to the WHOLE trailer park, and didn't quite get a full bucket :( Makes me sad when some places just STOP participating. I do understand why, - many reasons why!! - broke, less kids, grown up kids, people who participated died or moved, etc. Still sad :(

Iz is the bat. I know Iz is the bat hahaha! Crayons is a cute group costume tho! Hmm, what should I dress up as if I go pass out candy at hubby's house? :P I have a princess costume (sort of - maid marian style), a homemade candy corn costume, a witch costume, and probably one or two I don't remember :P

I always give out to whomever comes to my house. I don't care if they're two or twenty, especially if in costume. If you love Halloween that much, rock on. Also, i'm with you. I'd rather they go around and get their own candy vs stealing others or egging houses!

I do love when I offer the littles the choice of full-size bars and their little eyes get big, then they go toddling off with it clutched in their fist like the best prize ever. XD ...I'd vote for either the princess or the witch.

Do you have a rare item that just won't sell? Are you going through the high levels of Item Hunt? Or maybe you just HATE that blue bunny? Then you should join IHH helpers and IHH bargain in the forum groups!

HIIIIIIII (((((HUGS)))))) Yes!! exactly. Teens should be able to have fun too! (or young adults), I always find it funny and cute when grown up young adults come around with their infants, who so OBVIOUSLY cannot eat candy, so its for the grown ups LOL!!! OMG yes, the full size bars are amazing. Kids are always so excited to get one!!! My kids always were, for sure!!

My dad started the tradition years ago. He'd get this huge box of full size snickers (one year he even managed to score a great deal on King size) on the exchange and we would give those out. So when I started giving out candy, I continued with the full size bar tradition. ...I did skip the last year? Two? because of Covid and my shifts at work. Plus the last year I did actually give out candy, I didn't have a ton of people come by...I ended up calling the teenagers that live on the cul-de-sac over at the very end of ToT time as they were returning (They even told me they'd already been by, because honest kids) and I was like, yeah, I know, come over anyway...and unloaded a bunch of bars into their bags. I bet they were VERY popular for a while. XD I'm sure each of them got half a dozen bars off of me and there were four of them. ....But yeah, Teens like them, but the littles are hilarious. ..This year I scored a sweet deal on all my full-size bars, found a sale cheaper than I can get them at Sam's so I was pretty pleased by that (which tells you i'm definitely an old fart. XD)

Yea, thats how it goes. Kids grow up, so parents/neighborhoods stop giving out candy as much, and then all the sudden no one is participating, and there goes a great place for TOTing. The place we've been going to since Katie was about 3 (she's 21 this year) had really gone downhill since she turned about 14ish. A lot fewer houses lit up/decorated. Still, we kept going there as it was such a great neighborhood to go to. I wonder how they are now, as we haven't been in about 3-4yrs at all. There always was one house that gave out full size there. They loved it. Also one house (that stopped doing TOT before we stopped going) used to give out other fun things - like glow bracelets or play-doh. The kids loved that house too!! So much! (more so when younger) That was sweet of you to give the teens the candybars. I'm sure they loved it. I remember one year, some random house gave Shane a WHOLE BAG (like, 30-50 piece) of mini Hershey bars. I guess they decided they were done handing out candy and still had it left, so just tossed it at the nearest kid LOL I did make Shane share them - I think we used them for smores - my kids loved smores too!!

Would you believe this stupid site kicked me out when I posted!! 😠

Thankfully I had it copied so I saved the little bit I had typed -

I definitely did ToT'ing as a teenager! Hell, I think a lot more did it back then than they do now. I've also dressed up plenty of times when taking the girls treating.
Never gotten the chance to hand out candy. :(

Hurry up and wait for Moro. Been checking the item directory.

Yeah, the teenagers normally go all in a group, and they take Iz with them, too.

This year though, Lilys not really hanging out with those kids.. but I think I'll still ask the one Mom if Iz can go trick or treat at her house. Because uh.. IDK where else to go LOL.

But I think Lily and Jacob might be going with her friend Deana.. mostly to bother the band director.

But I agree, teenagers walking around, respectfully asking for candy? ESPECIALLY if they're in costume. Like.. a costume doesn't have to be much.

Definitely better than most other things they could be doing!

Going to all the different haunts is another cool aspect of the month. The only thing I don't like is waiting in a line for 2+ hours.

Oh no, I hate anything scary.

The other day Jacob asked Lily to go to a haunted hayride with him, apparently he thought she'd cuddle. But instead, something jump scared her, he touched her arm, and she turned around and punched him right in the eye. He's had a black eye for a week, and had to explain it to his Dad :P

I feel bad but also like.. I totally could have said that was going to happen! ... and did. But who listens to me?

Aaahhhh it's TOT time!!!!!

Hahaha I died laughing at Lily punching her boyfriend. I can totally see that .... Poor kid tho.

you said you need the hexed border thing? Do you have the book of rude gestures? (I'll look up the exact title up at home if you need me to). It helps you get hexed if you wear it. More hexed = more chance of border/achievement.

I don't have the book Kat, but I've been getting plenty of hexes, lol. Didn't have a problem w/ that last year but got sick of getting all hexes, no border and no new Moro items so I gave up.

Daaamn. That's a bit reactionary. I've seen guys do that and it's kind of funny b/c it's usually another guy that scares him but that could lead to a dangerous situation.
My girls and I love horror/scary stuff. The amount of times we've scared each other over the years is absurd but funny.

We don’t get any trick or treaters. Never have. The kids only go to their friends houses or houses that their parents know.

It was my day in the office today. I’ve been in so much pain all day with my back again. The pain has spread around to my front. Curled up on the sofa with some co-codamol. Just hope it’s gone by tomorrow as I can barely move without a sharpe pain in my stomach/back.

Happy morostide everyone 😊

do you want to borrow the book anyway and see if it helps? I have it in my wardrobe.

so sorry to hear you are hurting 😢 hope you feel better soon.

Does anyone particularly want a Morostide forum board? I can pop a list for tot'ing right on here just as easy I have been doing random tot so far since I was at school(work).

TOT List JAN [tot=cazra] [tot=sassysubsis] [tot=kimmee]? [tot=owlknight_kurhanna] FEB [tot=Kimmie442]? MAR [tot=mieke] [tot=taarna] [tot=zabrie] [tot=ping]? APRIL [tot=panoply] [tot=reborn]? MAY [tot=Chrissy]? [tot=sunflowers]? JUNE [tot=maria] [tot=noelle] JULY [tot=seleneoryx]? AUG [tot=ares] [tot=hollieangel] [tot=silvy] [tot=taffyann] [tot=yellowdream] SEPT [tot=monsoon] [tot=paddy] OCT [tot=mister_ed] [tot=miss_c]? [tot=tabatha]? NOV [tot=daisies_lilflower] DEC [tot=becks] [tot=luce] [tot=yerancek]

(I made the list. But to be honest, I may just choose to keep doing random TOT).... I can make a board to just post our TOT's (random or not) on, if ya'll want?

Making Nathan get ALL the trash (apparently he's been ignoring one of the trash cans as "too hard to get the trash out of" 😠 so ewwww) He wanted to back the car up to the trash cans (we have them a ways away right now, but I think I'm going to move them closer so I can keep a better eye on it) He stalled the car 3x before I realized he did not take the emergency/parking brake off hahahah! Then 2-3x more while trying to figure out how much gas while releasing the clutch. Then he ZOOOMED backwards and scared the crap out of me, but slowed it down enough to make it safely back up to near the trash, and stalled again trying to stop LOL!! Not bad really, for his first time ever driving a manual car (he has driven like, lawnmowers and tractors that shift gears but they are different than a car)

I can’t drive an automatic. Definitely prefer driving a manual.

">TOT Board Mister_ed has made us a TOT board if ya'll wanna chat there.

You can't? To me its a lot easier than a manual. I get that you prefer a manual though!! Many do. Me - I don't care either way, once I learned HOW to drive both.

Loving everyones "costumes" - I haven't found time to go change my wardrobe yet :P

I couldn't decide on the board but there was a part of me that likes to feel included in a group since I'm not a part of any forum groups anymore. Glad one was made and mister_ed made up for her absence. 😂

I actually had fun teaching my daughter to drive a stick. I've taught her how to drive all the way through and had her out many times on some of the backroads that I learned to drive on. The only thing that sucked was that she's so conscious of what others think that she would get overly embarrassed when she would stall the car so she just wanted an automatic. Personally, I love manuals but they're harder to find these days.

So sorry to see you're in pain, . Is it your sciatic nerve? Back and neck pain is the bane of my existence and there really isn't much I can do for either.

I have DDD Degenerative Disc Disease. My bottom two vertebrae have deteriorated by 80% so I get back pain all the time. Last night was just hell. Feeling a little better today though .

Over here it’s the other way around. Automatics are hard to find. Also if you pass your test in a manual you can drive that and an automatic. While if you pass in an automatic you can only drive an automatic

That's what I have in my neck and since 2 of the 3 vertebrae are right next to each other, I'm not a candidate for any type of surgery. I did have RF ablation several years ago and it really helped so I think that will be happening again if the pain persists to the point it was back then.

They have extra points they can deduct from your test when you take a test w/ a manual, but nothing that says you're restricted to one or the other. That's interesting that they only allow you to use one type if that's what you take it in.

Glad you're feeling a little better.

Truck drivers have that rule, but not regular car license. My son was complaining because he wanted to learn to drive in a manual semi. He finally did get to, so he, like hubby, can drive manual or automatic semi trucks.

It can be embarrassing to stall out. But it happens! I'm wondering if this car will perk Nathan's interest in driving again. Even tho he "drives" the car in the yard over to the trash area every week, that is about all the driving he has done in months.

Thanks (ref post ages ago) I'm sure I'll be able to pick up what I need from shops for cheap! I'll get on here and there and do a few patch visits!

snugs everyone and sends luce some healing vibes Have a great morostide evryone and post some pictures of your costumes! I have no reason to get dressed up this year but if I lived in the US I'd definitely be getting dressed up as a horror villan! One of my fav costumes was me dressed up as the girl from the ring:

[edit] I wore the wig over my face most of the night but also did my make up in case 😆
