Thank you.
. . . Someone told me I have two faults. I don't listen and . . . some other stuff they were rattling on about.
Hiya! Been on a little Holiday down in the big city of Fresno! Wow, they have everything there, huge shopping centers where you can purchase anything you see, every kind of restaurant you can imagine and they even bring it out to the house still piping hot! There is a place where the airplanes land and take off and I got to see one from the parking lot and they are much bigger than I even imagined and can hold more than 12 humans. (My Author, Mark, said that they can hold over 200 humans and their luggage but I know for a fact that he loves to tell "stories" and so I discount everything he says by about 95%.) We see the airplanes in the sky over the Sierra Nevada all the time and all the wee creatures believed them to be not much larger than the microultralight aircraft that Lizzi made for me out of old silk parachutes. Big enough to hold 200 humans...pffffftttt! What a laugh!
I got to ride a train from Fresno to Lodi to go see Grandmama Donna (Mark's mother). Oh my gosh! what a thrill! I got to eat a tunafish sandwich that was hermetically sealed in a plastic box for my protection (I think it's a COVID thing) and ate some peanuts from the nice man in the club car. I wasn't supposed to ask the man for a sandwich because Mark said that it cost 12 dollars and he could get me one at the gas station for only $4.00 which was still a rip off because he can make a sandwich at home for about fifty cents. But that was the best 12 dollar sandwich I have ever eaten! I wonder if they make 100 dollar tunafish sandwiches. I didn't get the canned soda because it makes me gassy and weasel farts are particularly foul. And the soda was 5 dollars and Mark didn't have any more cash.
I am finally over the trauma of the 4th of July, apparently the Fresno neighborhood armory is out of ammunition and so the nights are rather quiet and you only just hear the police and ambulance sirens and scattered gun fire every now and then.
It is hot though! Thank goodness Mark got his pool fixed and was able to replace the rather swampy green mosquito-infested water with clean ,clear, fresh city water. He added a little too much chlorine at first and so we had to wait a while for it to dissipate. Welly and I sneaked into the pool late one night for a little "weasel-time" and the chlorine bleached our fur. Since I'm pure white anyway, I wasn't affected, but Welly's fur is now a few shades lighter. Instead of being a nice wet-earth brown, he's now like a creamed-coffee stain.
Hey!
We will probably stay in Fresno until after Labor Day, I've been advised by my staff that I need to rest and get my strength back. I've worked so hard in the last few years that I've put my general health in jeopardy. Not that there is anything wrong, it's just that my energy level has been low and I've suffered from a worsening of my ADHD. Consequently, I'm not completing my work and can't seem to find the gumption to stick with it long enough to get back on track. I haven't been writing either and that's bad, as it's a diversion that I really enjoy and it really relaxes me to be creative. I'm going to be OK, I just need to take more holidays than I have.
OH, and Lili got weird the other night, I'm told. She's a red panda from Myanmar who was brought to the world of America by illegal exotic animal brokers and sold to a human family down in the land of the Lost Angels. When she became ill because she is intolerant of Purina Red Panda Chow, she was taken by automobile to Glen Meadow, where I live, and abandoned by her humans. The wee creatures found her, saved her, loved her and adopted her into our community. She fell in love with Lieutenant Colonel Billi of the Watchers and they were married in a inter-species ceremony. And while they cannot have children together, they've adopted and raised over 20 orphans (mostly war orphans from our civil war). Lili is one of my three best friends. And from time to time, Lili gets weird...she has visions...
She had a vision about me the other night and told my other two best friends, Merril and Madison. Maddy was able to convince the human Game Warden to relay a message to me via FB and, get this, Lili believes me to be pregnant again, or so her vision said.
Now, I'm not superstitious by any stretch of the imagination, and I've seen Lili get her visions (it's kind of hilarious, her eyes do that Kaa-the-Snake thing and her mouth hangs open like she's anticipating a lick from a watermelon ice cream and she sings a little song that sounds like Hey Jude), but most of the time she's completely wrong, about 45% of the time. So, I wouldn't put any store in what my friends are saying. But Merril went out and ordered new baby blankets from the weaver on a hunch. My friends are hilarious.
Well....I've babbled long enough. Mark is ordering fish tacos from a taco truck and they're going to arrive by Uber in ten minutes, so I got to go and bathe in the pool before dinner and wash all this watermelon ice cream and barbecue sauce out of my fur.
I love you all so much, I wish I could come and visit each and every one of you and swim in your cement ponds. I'd have to bring Welly though. He's kind of attached at the hip.
See 'Ya!
When were you going to tell me you're pregnant again?
Wow I am glad your enjoying your trip, and getting to experience new things. I loved reading about your adventures.
: Thank you Darling! I sure miss my home, but I love adventuring too. I gotta tell you, you haven't lived unless you've eaten a dried mango on a stick rolled in spicy pepper seasoning, dipped in batter and deep-fried. They have that on one of the taco trucks.
I'm sorry I've been a bit remiss about posting, but the combination of being tired, ADHD, worn out, hot weather, swimming all day, adventuring and being married to the world's cutest little weasel-guy...well.....
Sure love everybody
That sounds so yummy!!!
Well I think you more then made up with telling us about your adventures. I know your having so much fun, and tired afterwards.
