I was surprised when I bought the house. The Key to limes is they love water, so plant in the back yard. So if you need to water more, there wont be an issue. I tried peaches with no luck, I found out its a tree that needs to cross pollinate with another peach tree and has to be close to your home. My neighbor has a pecan tree that gives out a lot of pecans. I had to tie up the branches on the lime bush and an oleander next to it. After being cut back from the freeze, many branches started at the base. Which when they get more established, it makes it hard to rake underneath them. Which the lime bush is already hard to be near, it has thorns. So when I pick the limes, I look like I got into a fight with a cat. One thing make sure, if you plant a lime tree make sure its away from other trees and bushes, plus any fence. So you can just walk around the bush to pick the limes, inside of dealing with branches from the other bushes and trees. Because you can get behind them, and unless someone knows your there they cant see you.

Well finally after a lot of rain, the grass has slowed down. I was having to mow frequently. I may now have to mow one more time, I hate a straggly looking yard in the winter. We have property over in Oklahoma (rental now, hubby's job had moved there years ago), the yard was straggly looking one year. It was winter but warm I got out and mowed. Well I guess the neighbors thought, she is either really motivated or nuts/crazy. But one lady put her teenage son outside to do the same, and the neighbor beside me was military. They like everything uniform, so I guess I messed up the uniformity and the husband came out and mowed his lawn. My Mom would say, monkey see monkey do in the zoo. But it was worth it, my lawn looked better and I felt better looking at it. I think the neighbors were, look at her go with her silver hair (age related color) in the breeze, we cant let her out do us.

we have our front yard trim and green but we let the backyard go with the water shortage and fees for going over usage rules :( my flower garden areas are nice but we have only grass under a small patch by 1 of the trees :(:(

soooo now little Benny(new puppy) has to play in a dust bowl around the firepit it is sad man!! I am going to buy several pieces of sod as soon as i know where is best to place them as to where the little guy likes to rfest after playing..i want him to have some cool gras on his belly and to rest his tiny head on!!

this is exactly Benny his fur is now longer but there is his face exactly..little yorkiepoo. he is 5.7 pounds at 4 months old. i do hope he gets ome of the poodle height into the mix as i would like not to have a teensy thing that could get hurt easily :o And yes giggling even a little helps the day go better. Many of us dont have anything to giggle about these dys but lets count our blessings right ?❤️

Lush grass I wish, on a desert vegetation has to fight harder to survive. So when it rains, all vegetation goes nuts. Dogs love lush grass, cool for their tummies.

Thank you for the tips about the lime bush. I didn't know they had thorns! We have someone come out and mow the lawn and trim what needs to for us. The lawn guy has been doing the lawn since Eric's grandfather lived in the house, so for a long time. I still haven't done anything to prepare for a fall garden, i guess i don't have much motivation lately it is weird.

There are a lot of reasons I am so tired, but mainly I have not been myself for the last 3 years. I had a complete hysterectomy and my doctor is old fashioned and only gives estrogen, not checking the other hormone levels. I cannot afford the bio- pellets right now, which is great for women who need hormone replacement. They check your hormone levels for estrogen, testosterone, and progestogen, then make a biogenetic pellet that is customized for you and gives the exact hormones and amounts that you need. I am hoping that we can afford it in the next 6 months to a year, once we get other, more important things, taken care of.
