Laaaauuueeeerrrrggggghhhhh!

Friday evening update: ...yaaaay...

So... To summarize this.. Mom and dad admitted themselves to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. They both tested positive for The Thing That Shall Not Be Named. Dad had some kidney issues and a fever, and sounded kinda crummy over the phone. Mom just had to get her oxygen levels up to a good enough level they would release her, and she sounded okay (for a sick person) over the phone.
Yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, they were both released. I drove mom home and dad insisted he felt good enough to drive their van home (I followed to keep an eye on him though). I made sure they had the food stuffs, cleaning things they needed/ wanted and prescriptions and left 'em to it.

This morning (Friday), they call asking me to pick up the last prescription for them. (I fully intended to Not go in their house.) When I got there, they were both (for lack of a better word at the moment and per dad's words) puny looking, so I brought some stuff to them from across the house. Dad seemed to have energy (in short spurts), but mom... didn't look good (don't really know how to describe it). Per dad's request, I had bought them one of those finger clamp things that tell your blood oxygen levels. Mom's had been in the no-no oxygen level zone all day. Advice from the nurse at their doctor's had me taking her to a clinic, but they sent us right back to the ER. So, dad's home working on getting himself better, and mom's back in the ER (still with positive covid, and the worry about pneumonia and her breathing). I haven't had an update yet since I dropped her off.

Today was my kinda sister's 22nd birthday. We can't be near her right now. Thankfully she can celebrate with her friends on campus. But she's been put on edge because yesterday one of the people that work there had passed away on campus.

...you know those spinning noise makers? or a hula hoop? You get into a rhythm and it's sorta easy, but then your hand or waste starts to get tired. I feel like I'm sorta in that rhythm mode right now, but that I'm gonna get worn out soon. That's kinda how my brain feels..

HUGS I hope your taking care of yourself, because taking care of yourself is taking care of your parents. Hope your parents improve daily, so they can come home soon.

Well of course if something is hurtful, it should be left unsaid. I just mean that if there is something you really need to hear, that a person or family member that cares enough about you. Should be brave enough to talk with you, but letting you know its not meant to be mean or hurtful. I prefer to hear the truth, so I can deal with whatever it is. Instead of being blind sided out of the blue.

I used to do that with my sons when I needed a nap. Sometimes whatever you were planning to do while they sleep can wait, its not going anywhere.

I have had a busy day, doing paperwork for hubby since his in Egypt and the internet is not always dependable. Then made a nice Egyptian soup with onions and gear shaped noodles, something to enjoy even if its not winter just yet. Nights are getting cooler and the days are starting to. I am so glad tired of the summer heat.

Is he on business in Egypt? That soup sounds pretty delicious! I'm all for having soup anytime of the year, sometimes soup is just what the soul needs :) The weather is starting to cool down a bit too over here and I'm looking forward to taking the kiddo to the park in the mornings again and walks in the afternoon.

My hubby is from Egypt, born and raised in Cairo. His visiting his family, he worries about them and needed to see their okay for himself. They have a tendency to tell him, everything is okay to protect him and keep him from worry.

Soup was great, and easy to make. Whats nice you can put cooked rice with soup after its done cooking.

Exactly to hot here, so i am glad its cooling down so I can take my dog for walks. I used to walk in the corridors of the mall during summer, to enjoy the AC while I walked. But since Covid I don't go to the mall to walk any more.

I always have a book being read, not normal if I dont.

: I spend my summer holiday down in the huge city of Fresno and that's when I get to play D and D actively with Jen, Steph, Laura and their children. I really like playing, I just don't play as much as I wish I could due to my role here at Healer's Hall up in the wilderness.

That's good he is able to go visit with them. With family over on the other side of the world, I can see why he would worry about them.
I'm taking my son to the park again today, we had a lot of fun yesterday walking around the walking trail and also seeing some art rocks, where people paint them, along the trail too. I had to carry him halfway back because he got tired. Maybe today he'll want to play at the splash pad instead of wanting to walk again haha.

Even though I am hooked on 2 games on my phone, I have kindle on my phone and reading a story; I have a book upstairs and a book in each of the 2 bathroom on the main floor. Problem is they don't leave an impression and I can rarely tell anyone who or what I am reading LoL

i read your note to and i have episodes where i CAN read and retain it. Sadly there are many more times where i start a book that i would normally love and i can start it numerous times and can't recakk all! It is part of the symptoms of my issues. At least i know that i am not unINTERESTED in reading ..i just cant wow that trip sound so fun..playaing a game and having nice meals togerther though Welly would make for you all to be sure right??

I started rereading a book today I KNOW I read. I just can remember nothing about it. I hope it's worth reading twice. I will put it in a book-stop after I read it this time. They have those all over the city, it's a really nice share opportunity.

awww your walks or water pads play sound so wonderful ( when i am of course past that sweet stage. I imagine you are wiped out by the end of the day. I got a puppy that demands my attention 24/7 except when he goes down for his glorious nap hahaha.

When does your hubby come home? and is it still hot there/ today is an overcast wonderful day. I love when it is soft n damp here. It makes it seem like veveryone is sleepy and restful

The sister's work person wasn't actually confirmed to have The Thing. They haven't told what it was yet.

My dad has talked to my mom a couple times today, and he said she was supposed to come home tomorrow. ^_^ I Am happy, I just hope she's not as weak off as she was last time she came back from hospital. (I personally think she was released a bit too early last time.) But she Is wanting to come home, and it will probably do her some good to get fresh air. Though, If my dad can be a frustrating patient (not taking the medicine to make nausea go away because he doesn't want to), then I'm pretty sure my mom's a worse patient (because she is Mother and doesn't have to listen to the sane advice of her child). (I know she understands why I would ask her to take things or do things, she just wouldn't always feel like doing so..) sigh I am actually really glad for all those years of teaching children. I feel it has given me more patience than I would otherwise have had. (sorry for complaining a bit, I don't know how else to release this frustration. I don't want them to feel worse. ....I think sometimes I am a fixer, and I see a solution and I want to help because I love, but the solution is not accepted and I'm frustrated because they are hurting and I can't Do anything without upsetting them more... so I end up watching my father dry heave on and off for hours because I can't help.. )

le sigh Well! I have vented. I am good. My mind is clear. And I am going back over to take care of the dog and clean up a bit.

awwww (((hugs))) you can only BE there for them i guess..just keep them safe and get their needs met(the basics) they will do what they will do only..now do you think your dad could be there for your mom though? in some fashion when she comes home..geshh what a conundrum! O hope that you can get the rest yOU need at this time too because i can imagine you must be very worried about them both.

My friend is dealing with a nasty gnat problem. It started in the kitchen and moved to other rooms in the house. She and her family have used traps and other home remedies to get rid of them. Gnats are being killed by these things, but more gnats just pop up to take their place. I think now the only solution is to use pesticides designed for killing gnats.

Anyone know of any bug sprays that can kill gnats?

Gnats are equally attracted to moisture and organic matter. A gnat infestation is often an early warning sign of a leaky pipe or drain. You might want to have your plumbing in the kitchen checked since the problem started there. Any insecticide that is good for aphids and whiteflys will kill gnats. Pyrethrum TR is a good low volume indoor fogger. It's still toxic (despite the main ingredient being a harmless to people, plant extract), so be prepared to remove or wrap all dishes and cookware, and keep all people and pets out of the house for at least 24 hours.

For sure! Every day is a good day and everyday we are both tired :) It sounds like you have a little toddler in puppy form, so much energy that sometimes you have to wonder where it all comes from haha.

But the notion of celebrating the Makers provision at the end of the Harvest by eating and sleeping outside for a week resonates deeply within me. My tribe survived the Great Fire of 1964 and remained in Glen Meadow during the Reconstruction. The very first task each clan was commissioned to tackle was planting crops in the fire-scar. They lived in tents as they toiled throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Harvest was successful, the celebrations loud and meaningful and many babies were born the next Spring. The tents were decommissioned, our tribes have never used them since. We have a Harvest Celebration more like Thanksgiving, but on October 31. I wish we could have tabernacles. But that’s the little romantic in me.

: I love my Summer Holiday in Fresno! It’s so huge, like a world of its very own! And there’s so much to do, go to the airport to watch the fighter jets take off and land. Go to Target and Costco to buy jerky IN BULK! but the best thing (besides swimming in Marks cement pond every day) is that it’s only two hours to Monterey, the most beautiful place in the world. Weldon is a very good cook, but so are Mark and Frannie and their children. Especially Steph, who makes the best pink-lemonade filled cupcakes and yakasoba with the little hotdog squids. So Welly doesn’t cook much, he helps out when he can.
