That sounds like a short to ground, if it goes down without input.
I'm pressed to get the problems resolved before the beginning of the semester. I can take my car if the windows are closed, the rest can follow when time and resources allow.
The back is manual tho. I think the handle position would need to be changed, but not sure if it only goes on one way, or not. I would have to try to remove it, and go from there I think?
Oh! Did you check on your dad's suggestion, about the truck's registration? Or will you wait to see if your window situation can be repaired? I'm glad there might be another possibility for you. ;)
I did look into this, the first requirement is the vehicle pass an inspection. I'm aware that a car or truck cannot be tested if any warning light is on. I know this truck is overdue for an oil change, which is queued up for today. I have to wait for the engine to cool before I start, in about an hour.
Does your state still have safety/emissions inspections? That was such a pain, and I am glad they are gone here.
It does, but I believe some older vehicles are exempt after a certain age. My friend's '98 BMW 740iL had been deemed such before he sold it. Though I'm unaware if this applies to my vehicle, I don't have enough time to ask how that could be invoked.
[edit] The problem was the engine ran too lean, caused by a bad Mass Air Flow sensor. The fix is simple, though expensive (over $100). This should remedy the problem with the engine, but I think a more pressing problem remains. The truck is still under my mother's name, which may put another obstacle. The title needs to be transferred to allow a quick renewal, something I think cannot be done in a short amount of time.
Ohhhhh.....that puts a damper on things, at least for your immediate needs. Sure hope your car's windows can be dealt with more speedily. o.O
Its all a waiting game, the engine needs time to accustom to the new sensor. The components I ordered haven't arrived yet, even two day shipping can feel slow on a deadline.
How have you been? Mine making the best I can.
engine problem is resolved, the new sensor immediately corrected the issue. Now my task is to take it for inspection. My car is undergoing a once-over while the parts arrive. But if I can at least raise the windows and lock the doors, the rest can be delayed until another opportunity to take care of the bodywork comes around.
I'm doing great Thank You =) You hang in there My Friend, sounds like your working on your car & things are falling into place. Abrazos :D.

They are, fortunately. In small doses they are.
I'll be off for the afternoon. I have some reading to do, before my Zoom meeting.
Small doses are good, hopefully they will be done soon. Abrazos :D

True enough, now my next task is replacing the thermostat.
What a stupid message in my fortune cookie, " Your boundless heart will make room for one more. "
I will not be threatened that way.
so happy to hear that your moving right along My Friend =) Your "fortune cookie" knows best someday who knows Abrazos :D

It seems like one problem after another with this truck. Taking it back and forth from an auto parts store is time consuming.
As for the message, it may as well be tomorrow then... I'm too old for fairy tales.
& I basically lost my job (downsizing where I work) and I just hit the “anger” stage of grief. So, being me…. [box=#eeddcc]A curious mom uses her new iPhone to text her daughter to ask a very important question. The text reads: What does IDK, ILY, TTYL mean? Before long, the daughter texts back, “I don’t know. I love you. Talk to you later” to which the mom responds, “It’s okay. Don’t worry about it, I’ll ask your brother. Love you, too.”[/box]
(i forgot how to make the hidden link)
big hugs I’m so sorry you lost your job. Take time for yourself to reflect and hopefully soon you will see where your path will take you next on your journey through life.
HUGS! Love the joke. XD
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ! 🎉 🎂

Having worked seasonally during my "youth", I'm accustomed to being let go. Though I've never been fired, downsized, or axed in any other way. I agree with the others, that this may just be an opportunity.
My last task for this truck is to take it to my friend to clear the codes left. I'll need to wait for him to call me to make the arrangements. Should this not be any more an obstacle, and it passes inspection, I can attempt to renew online.
As for my car... The part I ordered online has yet to arrive. It's not particularly urgent, though leaving the windows down is inconvenient.
