Boosters are cheaper and less painful to use for more or less the same result.
Oh, I know! I've spent hundreds of billions on books over the years. And on boosters. Way back in the day, when you could run your account worth and it would break down how much everything was worth, the amount even back then on books was astronomical! For me, reading all of the books to Demigod was just for the accomplishment of doing so.
You know, it's for the best that feature went away. I don't want to know how much I sunk into books.
time. Battle Quest
[edit] You Won! You have defeated Menecuda Kuuipo earned 3500 EXP Points!

Thanks! I didn't manage to get beyond 11 today, but at least reaching 11 is swift. Gotta wait for a few more days before I can make a meaningful push, it looks like.
:dmg:light: Please ping me. :dmg:light:Finished getting tome loot from all the normal tab opponents! Time to move onto secret.
Forli Intelligence: 1121 AP: 70 Met his goal of 1.1k intel
Congrats! Well done!
So after seeing the comments on the news post... so excited to see what battle stuff is coming up!
I'm going to sneak in here and say 2 things
Battling is still confusing even though I feel like I've read every guide multiple times. Mod Slots what?! How do you even obtain scrolls?! Why are they so expensive?!
I have a T4 pet with over 50k exp points (and other pets with exp points) Is it best to spend all your exp points every level or is it better to hoard them like I have?
I always wanted to get [/i]into[/i] battling but so much of it still very intimidating :/

People here are very helpful, don't be afraid to ask questions. My smail/comments are also always open to any and all questions.
Each weapon has x number of mod slots. You can mod weapons with mod crystals. Mod crystals can be purchased through the battle shop or won from opponents. Each crystal contains different stats and abilities you can add to your weapons and have a % chance of activation.
Scrolls are either purchased through the MC, made at the shrine, made at genetech or loot from an opponent. The more expensive scrolls are typically the more sought after ones or dropped by very hard to beat opponents.
I know these answers are very brief but I didn't want to flood you with too much info
So If my T4 pet is only getting like 20xp from let's say the Muffin Man, is that a good indication that my pet should move up on opponents? Or do we always get xp from opponents even if it's like Eclipse which is definitely a T1 opponent

You Won! You have defeated Crithbolcan
Cynde earned 3500 EXP Points!
It's time for you to face Mechalag!
Noooooope, I'm good! Grendovil won up to, and including, level 11 after two skips. Slow but steady progress, yes!
You always get exp from opponents, but the first 10 wins give added exp. At 11+ wins, you gain a static amount of exp based on the difficulty of the battle. Easy opponents like Eclipse give 10, Medium opponents like Muffin Man give 20, and so on.
:dmg:light: Please ping me. :dmg:light:I am topping out at L11 too when it comes to Battle Quests, must be a inclination that I need to dump some more serious training in to make the next jump with Sargon or Lirazel.
Good to know about the exp! I believe I'm at that static level now with most easy and medium opponents but Mephysto still can beat me so ...

Someone will always be willing to help :). Just post any time you get stuck.
And you dont need to spend all your sP on expensive weapons. There are plenty of inexpensive weapons that can do almost tje same job!
Yep, the difficulty bumps up suddenly every 5 levels. Getting yourself some good gear and especially some good scrolls will help. I know it's still confusing to you, but you should check these threads, both of which found in the "Set Advice" Battle subforum:
— Gear — Budget Guide to Tiers 1-4 OUT OF DATE — Scrolls — Thesoveigns Scroll Guide - Regardless of Tier. OUT OF DATE
In short: — Read a ton of cheap books to your pet to boost its intelligence. This lets it use more and better scrolls; — Give it good budget gear of its tier.
:dmg:light: Please ping me. :dmg:light:Yeah, scrolls are very perplexing to me. Love that Gear guide! I have a bunch of random weapons in my armory and I just kinda click and point and mostly win lol
[edit] Onegai Maleria II has been read to Sargon! Sargon says, "Onegai Maleria II is my new favorite book!" Your pet has gained an alchemy point!
woohoooo!~

Nice! Keep at it with the books! Every six books gives one Alchemy Point. Get as many as you can without breaking your savings.
Also, regarding scroll choice: I'm currently using one Soothing Current and two Morosbane. You could try using them if you're unsure as they're both solid and cheap to get. Altogether, they need 35 Alchemy Points: this will be explained further below. (Note: Check the last part of the post, tagged IMPORTANT for a possible scroll swap)
Soothing Current is infinite use and heals you for 8% of max health. It can be crafted here under the Water category and likely for far cheaper than the going price of the scroll. If you can't see it on the list, increase your pet's intelligence — it opens up crafting options. Once you have the scroll equipped, you need 5 Alchemy Points free to fit it into your scroll set.
Morosbane does big damage and heals for a fixed 300 HP but each copy can be used only once per battle. It is pretty cheap (for scroll standards, in any case!) and there's no way you're earning your own for now, so just buy it. Any Morosbane you want to use needs 15 Alchemy Points each. Going by the guide I linked before, you shouldn't get more than two copies.
IMPORTANT: Lights of Sprites heals for more than Soothing Current for the two pets you mentioned before, Sargon and Lirazel, healing for a fixed 40 HP. It also provides some damage and block! You'll need to craft it out of scroll pieces. To get these pieces, you need 200 wins against each of Willowisp, Eclipse, and Pock, Saper, and Riscors.
