Hope the migraines have eased up a bit by now. :hugs. Gonna be a lazy day for me. A few housechores.. that is about it. :)

I like to be able to sit down and breathe while wearing them! Although the first pair of jeans I made from that pattern were too high on the waist, so I can only wear those if I go out (when I sit down, they waistband rides up and digs in just under my ribs o.O) 😊 It's still muggy indoors today, but it's "only" 25C outside, so it's getting better ;) We had quite an intense thunderstorm yesterday evening which seemed to help clear the air a bit :D
I never even did college! :P I wouldn't have done any socialising though - I've never really 'understood' it :P
I've never tried making anything else out of denim to be honest - I'm always a bit wary of the darker denim colour coming off on things ;)
I think that's how it was meant to be, but for some reason it jumped out of the cage a while ago :P Hopefully now he's fully spotlight-ready - I probably should double check his story when I feel I can read it laughs How's your day going?

hope you had a nice day. Mine wasn't so much fun. MY switch is broken. I called support and we got it back up and running. But later I discovered it's not charging on the docking station and won't play the telly so that part is 100% broke and it costs $90 to buy a new one. We still don't know if the system will keep running as there was now obviously at least two issues.
Gremlins :D good luck for the spotlight. Not well -_- yours?
Oh no! That sucks. >_< Depending on how old it is... you might be able to take it back to the store and ask them to fix it. I had to send in my wii u for repair a couple of times - well the gamepad that came with it. Hope it works out hun! :hugs:
Breathing is so 2019... very overrated. :P Sounds a bit frustrating when you spent all this time making them. :) I am sure the next pairs will work out better :nods:
Its a bit cooler for us as well now, even tho still warm. No thunderstorms, unless they been while I was sleeping. lol I struggle to fall asleep, but once I do its hard to wake me up. :P
Hehe.. to be fair. My bachelors degree seems like a bit of a waste since I am not using it for anything. :P
Washing the denim beforehand can help, but yup the colour can bleed off on other things. One pair I bought had a warning not to sit on light coloured couches before washing them a few times. o-O

I blame it on Clawsion seeing as he's (eventually :P) going to be a website gremlin, once I figure out his profile & story 😇 .... actually, I'm tempted to change his name to something a little more suitable now I've given up 'collecting' Subeta species names (that kind of lost its appeal once everyone could get the names :P ) ;)
My day's been "meh" really - I can't seem to settle to do anything, but I feel I ought be be doing something o.O
laughs at least I can use them for walks, seeing as I never sit down when I'm out ;) And I figured out a way of lowering the waistline for the next couple of pairs I made, so they're a lot more wearable to sit down in ;)
You sound like me with sleeping through most things - when I was a child, one of the garages in our road was on fire overnight (there's separate garages to the houses, so it wasn't directly next to anyone's house). Everyone was outside wondering what was going on (woken by the fire or the fire engines), apart from me and one other kid who just slept through the entire thing!
I'd always wanted to be able to do a degree. Since I've been off work I had a look at some on the Open University (they're all distance learning so you can do it online), but I couldn't actually find any subject that really stood out as something I'd want to study in depth for three years! :P
Yeah, I saw something before that said you need to wash and dry denim five times before sewing with it - to make sure it shrinks before you sew, but also to get the colour more stable. The colour on my jeans came off on the bag I was carrying (it's a messenger bag, so it kind of sat at hip height) - I never did manage to get the denim stains to come out completely :K

We are trying to not go to stores cos of covid. Mum and dad decided to buy me a new one. Once the situation calms down, i can hopefully trade the one that's not working right for store credit.
ooh that'll be cool :D aww I'm sorry. -squishes- I love we both had HA-less HAs.
I had a go at playing with a layout yesterday, but it was one of those days when creativity and me just didn't seem to gel - nothing seemed to look quite "right" for what I was aiming for :K I thought I'd better get on and start cutting out my "proper" shirt today, so at the moment I've got shedloads of fabric all spread over the dining table & draped over the back of the dining chair just so it didn't slide straight onto the floor :P I was going to try and pattern match as much as I could, but I thought I was better off just trying to make it line up for the pattern at the front, and ignore the side seams :P It's pointless trying to get the back yoke to pattern match, as there's a pleat in the bottom back part so that it longer than the yoke (and impossible then to match it up!). If I had thought about it, I could've put some piping or something in that seam just to break up the pattern a little....
I love your moonlit butterfly look :d I was lacking inspiration today so I just shoved a different background under the foreground bits 😇
Could I just double check - if you're using your phone / tablet, do both hovers work on Sid's profile? (I know some hovers don't always seem to hover properly, so I want to make sure they don't need changing!)

That makes sense. :) glad you are getting a new one so that you can still play. :D Was nice of them. :)
That sounds good then. :D
That really does sound like me! Once we were at our cabin there was a ton of lightning.. and the transformer (electrical) house (not sure if this is the right term for it :P) caught fire. and it spread to a couple of other cabins nearby. Not ours thankfully! Even tho there electrical system was down, the lightbulps in our cabin still had this eerie blue light just from the electricity in the air. My mum has told me it was really freaky. People were coming in and out of our cabin. The works. I slept through it all and heard about it the next morning. :P
You def. need a subject you are interested in, or else it gets really hard to motivate yourself enough to really study. :) Granted when I studied library- and information science a lot of the lectures/books were really dry and boring. :P I liked working at a library tho. When I studied to become a kindergarten teacher- I found the lectures interesting- but didnt get on as well with the internships/work experience that was mandatory during our studies. :P
That is annoying that the stains were so stubborn to come out. :K I heard that you are suppose to wash any new clothes you get before wearing them, because of the chemicals they use. But I have always been too lazy to really do that. 👼

😮 whoa, that sounds like it was super scary - well, for everyone else considering you slept right through it! Were you annoyed that nobody woke you up, or quite pleased you'd slept through it and didn't have that stress? ;)
I can believe that on the library & information science one! I like the sound of an IT based one (there's some that include robotics, which sounds like it could be quite fun), but they can be quite heavy on maths so that might suck the fun out of it all! :P
I've never washed any ready-to-wear clothes before I've worn them 😇 but you're meant to do the same with fabric as apparently they use chemicals & stuff on the fabric when it's manufactured, that really should be washed out before you sew with it.... but I only do that if it's cotton (as it could shrink), denim (ever since that pair of jeans stained that bag!), or anything I'm doing an "official" blog post for as I need to comment on how much it shrinks (if at all) in the wash :P
I thought about trying some of those "colour catcher" sheets when I wash my jeans - it's meant to catch any dye that comes out, so it doesn't get on anything else in the wash (normally I'd leave my jeans until Mum's ones need washing as well, then they can go in the same wash ;)), but I have no idea if they're any good or not! I figured it might also be a good way of seeing if the colour actually did come out of the jeans in the wash (as the sheet would change colour)

I think it was for the best that I didnt wake up, as it does sound scary! Especially being in the middle of nowhere and with the eerie blue lights from the lamps when you knew we had cut off our electricity. :P
Cataloging etc is more complex than I ever knew before I started. lol At least I got to do some of that when I had my job experience at the local library. :) Among other not so fun tasks, but everyone else got those as well so I couldnt complain too much. :) Anything too heavy on maths would be out of the question for me. :P As soon as I could I stopped taking math classes. That and english were my least favorite subject. lol
You spend too much time making things only for them to shrink after the first wash, so I guess its worth the effort to prewash if you are gonna sew something. :)
I heard that those colour catching sheets works quite well. :) I bought some, but havent tested it yet. I have sweater I knitted, with machine washable yarn, that is blue, red and white. Was always worried about washing it and the colours bleeding over on the whites- so I bought the sheets. :)

I can imagine that they used their interns for the really mundane jobs! I did work experience in a special needs school when I was 15 - I was meant to be working with the speech therapist, but she was only in that school one day a week, so the rest of the week was spent being a general classroom assistant. It was quite fun, but not something I'd want to do for a living! :P
I took maths to A-level (the step before University), but I've forgotten most of it laughs
That's very true, especially when the fabric doesn't come with any washing instructions so you don't know if you can wash it at 40C or not!
That definitely sounds like a wise choice - when I worked in retail, the shop was selling a really nice looking duvet cover which was deep maroon and cream.... after three weeks, head office put out a recall on them because the deep maroon colour would bleed in the wash and obviously it went all over the cream sections!

busy sounding days. Dorry they lauout didnt go exactly as planned Ugh pattern maych is a bugger! I imagine a yoke would be a nightmare I used my phone. Found 3 hovers. Well one was for making the story a bit larger. me too xd. Yes it was!!
I had another play with the layout yesterday and had a different idea - it's still not working quite as I wanted it to, but I think it's better than what I started with before :P
I found some bias binding I can try adding in as fake piping on the bottom of the yoke, just to stop it looking so odd where the pattern doesn't stand a chance of matching! I hope I've cut the pockets out right to make them blend in with the pattern though - in theory they'll be invisible pockets :D
Thanks :d When you say it was for making the story a bit larger - was that just the scroll bar appearing so you could scroll down to the base of the story text or did it actually make the box bigger? There should be three "proper" hovers (under the bird cage, under the story, and one on the top left) ;)

:nods: That is the way it usually goes. lol When I had my internship during my education I got to work the front desk tho and help people. which was fun. :) Special needs school sounds interesting! No days are alike. I did some work experience and temp work in kinder gartens before. Rewarding, but man are you a knackered by the end of the day! :P
That is impressive that you did math as such a high level. :D I am sure you could get back into it if you wanted. ;)
One would think washing instructions would be mandatory for all fabric/clothes? o-o For cotton and denim 40c should be fine tho at least. :)
So annoying too when that happens. :) At least they made things right! :)
Still deep into Links awakenign here. Plan on 100 percent completion so its taking some time. lol Visitted my mum today for a lil walk and dinner. Hope you are well. :)

that sounds like a great one to be able to help people rather than just being used to tidy up ;) Yeah, I don't see how the staff in those schools manage to keep going!
:D it helps that the course I've seen is a "certificate" rather than a full degree - so it's the same as the first year of a degree, but you still get a recognised qualification at the end (and I think you can do the other two years at a later date if you want to upgrade it to a full degree) ;)
Yeah, the fabric shop I use most often has the wash instructions on the fabric's page, but most places just seem to forget that you'd need to know! Everything gets washed at 40C unless it specifically says 30C ;)
The most frustrating thing for me with that, is I was waiting for pay day so I could get the duvet cover for myself - of course the problem started, and the recall happened, before pay day came round :P But at least I didn't already get it then realise there was a problem with the colour bleeding out ;)

I can't do layouts so lol you've got my respect
oh that should work well and look cute :D hope the pockets work out. it kinda made the box pop out and wider.
awesome!! sounds like you are having fun :D sounds like a nice day I'm well
laughs I still can't quite get beyond the stage where the layout looks a lot better in my head than it does on the screen :P
I'm hoping it'll work - I just need to make sure I get the bias attached to the right part, otherwise it'll show on the inside rather than the outside :P Same here on the pockets! Hopefully I can get the darts sewn tomorrow, then see if I can get the pockets done as well ;)
o.O that's strange - I'll have to look at that a bit more and see if there's some coding I've messed up / missed out ;) squishes

You gotta admire their patience at least. ;)
That sounds like it might be good then. :D I am sure you can find something that suits you. I find philosophy very interesting.. so I might have chosen that for myself. ;) Or religion or psycology. :)
That is how I roll. lol I dont buy stuff that needs to be dry cleaned, ever. :P So all my clothes goes into 40c, expect wool. ;)
You probably lucked I say, as you were bound to have to wash it at some point. ;)
Glad you are well. :) Heading out for a walk with Richard later today, starting up again after the summer break. WIsh me luck. 😆

definitely!
Whoa, those sound like pretty heavy subjects! Although I ended up taking English Literature and Maths for A-level (I also started Physics, but quit that course as it was too much to get my head around), and I found out afterwards that those were classed as heavy subjects so really I should've picked a lighter one to go with Maths :P
Other than the suits I bought for work (and that's only because we were expected to buy a suit from the shop - we had a hefty staff discount for two suits a year.... I think) none of my stuff is dry clean only ;) Mum does the same with 40C washes, unless it's new and specifies 30C (just in case it shrinks laughs) :P
nods that's very true ;)

Hehe.. to me english literature and maths sounds like heavy subjects! :D They are all pretty intense tho, you can study them for decades really. lol
You dont want the extra cost and hassle of taking them to the drycleaners. I suppose with a suit you dont clean super often, but still. :P
