we're going to be destroying instruments, aren't we? :c i don't wanna beat up the nice instruments, i just wanna chat with johannes...
they could go the fun route and have his fear be a genre he doesn't like
that'd be cute but unlikely given that all of the fears have been pretty serious
so my money's on silence, hearing loss, or tinnitus

I thought maybe not a certain kind of music but just music played badly. Like too loud or not hitting the right notes, etc. But IDK how that would tie in with unlocking the challenger. Hmm...
There might be a clue in his Subetapedia article:

But yeah, I can't think of how to turn that info into a way to unlock him.

Those are interesting ideas too. Although the fear would make sense for the Cash Shop challenger, and the way to unlock the Friendly Thursday challenger could just be something that makes them angry. Like Maybel's unlocking trigger was different from her fear.
The destroying instruments thing could be it, but it seems like maybe too easy to guess.

this is a lil too real but i hope it's not poor playing 'cause that just makes me think about how i haven't picked up my viola in like... seven years....... lol whoops
but i also don't think it'd be deleting instruments since we've already done that (and staff has shown they're willing to go Out There with hiding your base layers as a trigger) so! who knows o:

Yeah, that's why I'm not really sure. There are a few things that it maybe could be, and I agree having it just be deleting something again would be kind of boring.
Hopefully the news post will have a bit of a secret hint or something. :P
i'm not so good at riddles so i hope it's a big hint, haha (also i know the scroll probably showed up early 'cause they were testing, but... i hope the news post is a lil early too ;w; )

It would have been harder, I think, if some people hadn't already had their HAs set up like that. I had a thought that it would have something to do with the HA's face, but I didn't really get to test anything myself, lol. Just got to watch others in the news comments try stuff after sharing a couple hints about what some of us were wearing.
That would be funny if it's not even who we think, would have been laughing at us last night if that was the case. :P

Well, we can at least hope for a hint in the news post, and maybe start by trying some of the ideas mentioned here if it ends up being the NPC that we guessed.
Hmm, still nothing new in the directory yet.
Don't get me wrong, I know it'll be solved because we have brilliant people on here, I just won't be able to contribute anything :P
Hmmm they might wait till after the Thursday update before releasing the new challenger. Lol they love making us wait.
