A friend at Neo suggested here when we were talking about how there was no place for "adult" conversation there. The art was amazing, so I signed up

What convinced me to initially join: I was bored and Tutanis are essentially orca whales (my favorite animal)

What convinced me to stay: I was on the hunt for a friendly and active community. Chickensmoothie is active but not my definition of friendly. Flyingforhome is friendly, but not overtly active. Lioden is all of the above, but I rarely have enough time for that game.

Also, Tutanis and a plethora of Scottish Terrier items didn't hurt ;)

Like a lot of the people on this thread, I started out on neopets, was repulsed by all the changes ~10 years ago, and came here instead. I'm still amazed by how much easier it is to achieve goals here. I remember saving neopoints every day for months for one paintbrush. That's a long time to focus on a goal when you're like ten years old, not to toot my own horn but....

Anyway I'm v glad I found this site. I haven't been on much in the last several years but I still come back every so often. I have a lot of good memories here.
