I saw the link on avatarstarried, which used to be a neopets fansite. Created my account and I don't think I played long but then I came back a few years later and got addicted.

I joined after hearing about the site from a well known virtual pet youtuber. I decided to try it out and now I love it!

It's not owned by JumpStart and the art is prettier here than it is on Marapets.

This is funny. I was using a Gaia Online avatar creator and saw an ad for Subeta (it was of the Bovyne). I was intrigued and clicked it, and started to create a pet and was blown away by how much better quality art Subeta had than some other big name pet sites. Pretty much THE thing that convinced me to join was the Bovyne, and to this day I still don't own one, haha.

Another Neo-refugee chiming in. Tomorrow will mark 8 years exactly since I signed up. I think...I remember seeing an ad on that fansite that helped you track avatars for neo and decided to check it out. Pretty quickly shifted over, and then went back once to make a post about Subeta and get my neo account frozen lol The pet art was way cooler, I liked the battling system tons better, and Subeta has the HA system. At the time, it was nowhere near as good as Gaia's, but eventually Gaia got too expensive and I wandered away from it too.

I think the main reason I left Neo for here though was pet accessibility. I was sick of throwing myself at applications for pets that I'd never get, and never being able to afford the brushes to make them myself. When I came here I saw a glacier Tigrean, wanted it, and got it within like two days and that was it.

Idk if this is a memory overlapping another but i THINK i heard about subeta from an ad?? from photobucket? idk if subeta did advertise themselves or not bc i dont think ive seen any other subeta ad outside.

I was a Neopets player way back in the days (I think I started playing it in 2001-2002). I think I enjoyed in back then but Neopets changed. I found myself enjoying it less. I could almost never save up enough for anything. Paintbrushes were such a distant dream. I felt a bit demotivated and just started to drop off. As I got older I played less and less of Neopets, and one day, after not logging in for a very long time (over a year?), I found that I couldn't access my account. The email address that I used was a hotmail one which I didn't log into for a long time, and I also lost access to it. So I decided to look elsewhere.

I really can't remember how I found Subeta - but I think I saw it being mentioned in one of the Neopets fansites so out of curiosity (and I thought the art is so much better than Neo's art) I ended up here. I think at the time Subeta was still on the .org domain before moving to .net. It's been almost 9 years since I joined! :D my Subeta anniversary is coming up end of this month actually.

I can't believe how fast time flies, but I really feel like I grew up with Subeta in a way :) although I've taken a few hiatus here and there over the years, I feel the community is so welcoming here, and it's easy to come back and feel right at home. ^_^ I think the great thing about Subeta is that there's something for everyone - social, avatar, pets, battling, questing, restocking, events - I'm addicted to the wardrobe and taking care of pets c:

when i first joined subeta (after most of my rp group migrated here) i couldn't really get into it and ended up going back to neo :v

then i took a hiatus from neo and when i came back i really wanted to create an oc and his name was taken, so i tried over here and it was available!! so i made him here and got in touch with a bunch of old friends again and uhhh have been hooked since lol so i guess you could say it was mostly being able to have nicely named pets and actually achieve painting goals without grinding flash games for 6 hours a day

anyway said oc was my boy miljenko!! who is still one of my favourite pets tbh

Neopets no longer being fun with all the changes being made was my reason.

Sadly Neopets hasn't been much fun for a few years. I returned here because of someone on another site got me curious as to how it was going now. It had been years since I'd played and everything I'd had was long gone but the site has changed a lot.

I used to be on Neopets, but then I linked all my accounts....and got banned, despite the fact that I was only using them to create pets (very limited pet space) I had wayyyy over the maximum allowed for that...I think like...five. Then I was getting fed up with GaiaOnline and saw a subeta link in someone's signature over there, clicked on it and have been here ever since.

Wow, I'm one of the rare ones not coming over from Neopets! My sister has been on here for awhile and been off-and-on depending on our situation, but she never gave it up completely. Some months ago, I started watching her because she commented about 'gathering money to make a pet'. I ended up too curious about what THAT meant, so saw her building up to get the pet colors achievements--and saw the huge variety of pets listed on Subetalodge.

I can safely say one of the best things here is the pet designs, followed by the outfits! :D
