The pretty graphics and end of Valenth. I needed something new to be addicted to (at the time). Subeta served me well, but it seems it's not quite the same anymore. We change so much in our 20's, it seems.

Well Honestly.. I was playing Gaia less and less... and I was just...kinda frustrated, and a friend told me about this site, and that the art was nice, and the people were amazing..As is she... and that was 7+ years ago. :)

My reason was because of the pet art which I fell in love with.

A bunch of people from Icepets were talking about Subeta so I joined so I could have an alternative site to be a part of.

It's funny because I found Subeta by mistake I think. I was looking at potential sites to get off of Neopets and the first one was Subeta, and fell in love with the pets and their overall cool colors. From the bright to the dark colors. It was, hands down, the best choice I made years ago, though, I went on hiatus and lost my old account. So it's been a good 8-9 years on this site. :) And have enjoyed every moment of it.

Stumbled upon Suta-Raito way back in the day, scouring for Neopets stuff, and saw some old art for the Clawsion (and a couple other pets), and was intrigued. I just really loved all the pet designs and the different vibe compared to Neopets. :)

i do however first stumble into subeta when browsing neocolours. i was really impressed with the artwork which is so much better than neopets, notably bloodred and reborn pets. i mean i didn't even know that much gore is allowed on pet sites! but i didn't join since i didn't know how subeta works. it was hard to find info online about subeta compared to neopets. when i discovered that potions cost millions, i was thinking i couldn't play on another petsite to start all over again. but of course silly me for not knowing that i could get millions a day in subeta :P

I found out about Subeta through the Neopets tag on Tumblr. It was just one of those posts that tag all the pet sites and try to convince people to join for the referral perks. I really liked the pet art, and spent a couple of weeks after that reading up about the site, trying to work out if I'd like it or not. I was still fairly committed to Neo at that point (not sure why), and wasn't sure if I had the time or energy to split my time between the two. Then Fireside rolled around, and everyone on the Subeta tag was talking about how much they liked this holiday, and it did look pretty rad. So I signed up, just to see how it would go, and I very quickly found that Subeta was way more fun than Neopets, and promptly regretted not finding it sooner.

spooky pet colors, smaller userbase, and an economy that isn't broken like gaia's or neopets' due to smart item mechanics like the recycle beast, questing, and just being a heck of a lot more convenient and accessible than both of the former. in gaia you need to pay IRL money for random cash granters anymore (only to be met with evil gold-dump events that will fix nothing if they don't stop selling insta-gold items) and neopets having such a high barrier for entry if you're not dedicated to restocking religiously.

the human avatars :D I love dressing up avatars and then I fell in love with CW's and now I am addicted I swear all I do is look at cws or add cws to my wishlist!

I was really into Neopets at the time and I wanted to join something else as well. I've always been drawn to sites where you can "build up" your pets with battle and stats.

I came here because I got bored of another website I used to visit back then; the style of the HAs as well as the big variety of clothing items really got me.

I heard of Subeta way before I joined from other pet sites I frequented, but I only joined when I did because I was getting bored of those other sites. The pet art is primarily what drew me in, as that was what typically convinced me to join a pet site during that time.

Even though my main account was in Neopets for years, of the many pet sites I tried while in there Subeta was the only that I would come back to, so when I left Neo for real, Subeta was the obvious choice, and the reason is it has the complete pack: great pets, appealing and diverse HAs, good restocking system, active, lots of events, all unique one way or another, but specially the amount of different stuff you can focus - collecting, HAs, achievements, battle etc. All other sites made me feel there was one core objective and if you aren't good/don't like/don't pour all your money on it, you better just leave. Oh, and like many others, I also heard about it from Neopets. The thread lasted a surprisingly long time now that I think about it.
