For me I was depressed that jumpstart after buying neopets from nickoldeon basically killed PetPetPark.i went on the hunt for online virtual pet games and stumbled across this on a list of top 10 virtual pet games. I'm loving it soooo much more then neopets

I started playing Neopets when I was around 8 years old, and eventually talked my parents into giving me permission to post on forums and send neomail, etc. (in retrospect I think it's crazy that neopets was so insulated, but not in a bad way that is!). I joined a guild called like, NeoDynamic or something and posted there all the time. I had a good friend there who posted one day that they were leaving Neopets and the guild to make an account on Subeta instead and I decided to make an account too. I was really impressed by the artwork but I wasn't as into it as I was on Neopets.

Eventually a lot of my friends from the guild disappeared from the site so I switched to Subeta full time and I've never looked back! It's been nine years and I feel I made the right choice.

I was sooo tired with Neopets', esp missing freedom of speech, also my account was frozen for security reasons (and un-frozen but it really pissed me off - people trying to steal my UC royals) - so a neofriend linked me to a neopet called "Subeta" with a wink ;)

when I arrived here I loved the artwork, so many beautiful pets and cute items, and also I loved the awesome restocking profit (compared to Neopets) - everything was kind of easy and relaxed - and I remember saying to my friend, "yeah it's really nice .... but who the heck is "Keith"? :D

Saw an ad on Tektek back in the day. Kinda reminded me of Marapets, which was something I played for all of a month and still have a strong sense of nostalgia for.

Have stayed on here significantly longer than a month.

I was just as much a petsite addict 12 years ago as I am now, probably more so? I had accounts on most petsites even if I wasn't active, so joining Subeta was inevitable! I actually stopped myself from making an account for several months because I knew I was spending too much time on pet sites (mostly Neopets lol) and didn't want yet another one to be hooked to. Now of course I regret waiting thanks to the longtime member achievements hahaha.

Idk if I would have stayed but there were some good pet and item art even way back then. I bet Subeta has artists to thank for drawing a lot of people in and keeping them here.

I'm pretty sure I joined after some artist's that I admired on Neopets jumped ship and started to make Subeta fanart.

IIRC, this was when they had just released human avatars. I'm pretty sure it was that, along with the artwork and more relaxed staff, that sealed the deal for me.

And this was all back in....2006-2007? It's really weird to think of how long ago it was.

I also came over from Neopets many years ago. I don't miss Neo at all.

I joined about a year ago after giving up on neopets. I used to enjoy it, but there have been lots of bugs and hacker issues such as cookie grabbers. You go to buy something from someone's store and they use some code to steal your browser's cookies and any saved passwords. Lots of folks have been hacked. I still use my account but I only to play games.

Joining Subeta felt refreshing especially knowing it wasn't completely aimed towards children.

I used to frequent the Neocolours forum, and while I was on that site, I saw the Subeta pets and colors. I was interested from the start, but I couldn't find the link at first. After some looking, I found the link and signed up. I was 13 then, so it was back in 2012 I signed up. I didn't get interested in Subeta at first, but after some time, it grew on me, and I'm glad I stuck around these 5 years. This site has changed quite a bit since then...

I was also playing Neopets during that time, and up until the Jumpstart acquisition, I was playing both games equally, but now I play Subeta almost exclusively.

I had a Subeta account years ago, but about one year ago I think my cousin and sister said I should join again.

I think I was googling around for sites similar to Neopets. I liked Neopets a lot, but I wasn't getting very far in terms of collecting, earning NP, and was getting bored of it. I found Subeta, and it was a much better match for me!

I was fed up with Neopets' very ... angry? culture. I came across someone listing their usernames on other petsites, so I joined.

Saw an adv on Neopets about Subeta right when I was getting really tired of NP.

The fact that there is a higher focus on avatars (and the art is much better) instead of pets sealed the deal.

I had a friend in middle school that got me into a few online communities. We played Neopets together and one day she was just like "Hey, I made you an account on this website Subeta, here's your username and password." I didn't even choose my own username! Haha In the end, Subeta felt like a much more filled out world than any of the others, and I had so many friends on here that I stuck around. School and life got in the way for a few years, but now I'm back and I'm excited to be a part of it again! ^-^

I played neopets a lot and I wanted to have more pets to take care of. After search a little bit ,I just falled in love for the drawing style of this site.
