So I'm pretty sure Clive is legit broken. It was reported and the thread was locked, but I just sat through a 50 turn battle with him and he never attacked. If he's really supposed to take that long to generate his weapons, then wow what a waste of an opponent.

Anyway.

Someone motivate me to do the other half of my BQs.

Maybe his weapons aren't generating correctly? I know some weapons that generated awhile ago were broken ( I know you might have looked at this recently but 50 turns without attacking sounds broken)

Yeah it sounds like clive is legit broken. They should generate after 2 turns. Maybe he became a pacifist o-o;

Finally! I decided to put in the time to grind the last 20 wins against the 2nd forj, and I'm glad I did. A few minutes later:

Unlocked Conquerer of the Forjlings! Defeat the Forj Matriarch on Impossible 1 time.

I'm using Swash, Unstable syringe and OC scroll. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed things up? Even though I'm not dealing much damage, I outhealed mama forj's attacks pretty much each turn in the first fight, so I don't think I'll have huge issues getting at least to 5. ...says the optimist. Would be nice to get there quicker, tho ;)

I ran into Clive today and you're right! :O 20-30 turns on my end and nothing happens.

I don't think there is a faster way unless you get some weapons that deal more water damage and with the stats your pet has in health you should be able to make to five with no problem it takes a few minutes to beat her.. the only thing I could think of for you to speed things up is to get more strength stats ... if you haven't used your battle tokens in a while and a lot of them saved up you could trade them down and get some strength potions from the Battle Shop and use them on your pet

Thanks for the reminder, I had some exp (100k) that I can use on strength. Looks like Swash and Syringe are my best water-dealing weapons, so I guess I'll just have to brace myself and set some time aside for the fights :)

I got Clive today too, and just as a test, I tried several turns without selecting any weapons. I got 14 turns of Clive doing nothing at all, but then he hit Kentish with a bauble (just one each turn) two turns in a row. So apparently he is generating weapons, but it's just crazy slow - probably way slower than planned. I think he's been like this for several months, but before he used to hit always on the 2nd turn (I may have posted about this in the bug topic you found, because I was curious about the change).

Prodigy Staff works well for water damage also plus it has a nice curse. Water Baguette and Singed Baguette Crystals also help if you aren't completely loaded up on natural armor to prevent stealing. An extra weapon is nice in case she steals one. I generally use the PS until the curse activates and then switch back. I also use The Ether a few rounds for steal fodder but there's other options for that.

Thanks for reminding me about Pstaff! I haven't bought one because I think I'm getting close to earning one myself (Kentish has beaten Prodigy in BQs, but I haven't tried fighting it for realsies yet). If I won't get far with Forj, I'll look into borrowing one. ...or trying to beat Prodigy instead :)

I have a Natasha for creating stealing fodder, and mainly BONAs, so I'm hoping to be theft proof (if I'm lucky).
