- if it helps any, I beat Surge once in BQ a few days ago with the following: and using and I found him to be fairly easy to freeze - even with the rapier and the UltimaPlus Tag. With the same weapons,, but without GoTF, so far I'm not getting there today, so maybe I just got lucky. And I think her pet Philosophize is T10 now?

- oops, sorry T9, still I think your stats are higher than Tos who is about 1465 or so in everything.

UltimaPlus Tag heals 25%, has a medium chance to freeze and a low chance to steal. It also has a 16 - 20 icon attack (2-3 earth, 2 ice, 2 wind, 2-3 fire, 2 dark, 2-3 water, 2-3 light and 2 magma). It's only a T4 weapon and is currently selling for 72,400 sP. It's really been an unsung hero for me. I use it for the healing and the extra chance of a freeze.

Thank you for sharing the set 😄 . I think it works well because the percentage heal plus freeze chance make up for the lack of water defence 😄 . Back then when I first fought against Surge I also had to use an attacker with % heal because for a T9 and low T10 he still hits quite hard 😄

If you've got the Large Gutting Knife you can use it for the heal too. There are a few possible combinations that I can think of: Pirate Cutlass + Large Gutting Knife + Denizhen/ Terra Focujin or Pirate Cutlass + Bone Grinder + Terra Focujin

Too bad good water blocking options for T10 and below are few and far between. At T11 there's the new Panzer Hydra Gauntlet but it's quite pricey. The Frostbite Amulet in the MC might be the best non-healing alternative for T10 and below. I actually find the Frostbite Amulet a better weapon than the Pirate Cutlass for its freeze chance. Having said that, if the Pirate Cutlass is serviceable you can wait until next Masquerade to see if the Hydras will come back and the gauntlet be re-released and drop in price.

Btw, I'm quite fond of the UltimaPlus Tag myself, haha. I'd recommend it especially if you haven't got and are saving up for the Soma Tablets.

I love the UltimaPlus Tag also! It's a standard part of my set from t4 - t7 and I put it back in when I need an extra chance of a freeze, like very early wins against GE.

- oooh - not only a new book but another AP - congratulations. I understand it gets harder to do that with pets at Demigod's level.

- I think it's one of the most underrated weapons around. It's in my default set for Tos (my T9 top battler pet) and is rarely replaced. And it's so inexpensive you can hardly go wrong by putting one in your armory. Just be aware of one thing - rarely, but it does happen that you will blast your opponent's weapon (maybe even the one you most wanted to) and then use your UltimaPlus Tag for healing/freezing only to find that you have also managed to steal the Recycled Wad. So far, that's only happened to me once, and I literally died laughing. (I did win the next battle though. :-) )

- Congratulations on reaching T7 with Cynde! And beating the Hustler with a T7 (or was it still T6 then?) pet is a big accomplishment. MrCool calls him the overall most difficult challenger in the Very Hard category. Good job. And I'm sure Cynde will soon be defeating Wrymgear as well.

We did it. We managed to beat Wyrmgear after several failed attempts! Blasting his blocker helped immensely!

When you have fewer than 20 books on the site that your pet can read, you never read unless you've boosted to the point of getting an AP.

- wow - you beat him while still a T6! Very impressive! And yes, he is still very much a pain. And I think ranting just scares your opponent so you get the win. :-) And I know I said you'd be beating Wyrmgear soon, but even I wasn''t expecting it to be immediately. Cynde is really tearing up the Battle Coliseum! Whoo!

- yes, that makes sense to wait for AP points when you have few books at your disposal. I would be thrilled to be there. Before I ever started battling I wanted to have a pet that has read every book on the site (of course I used to want to read every book that existed in real life too - unfortunately, I don't have quite that much reading time. :-) ) At least they seem to keep making new books.

Yes he's really coming along nicely. Feels great to push passed annoying challengers and make it farther into BQs and other battles. Soon he'll be taking on the Extremely hard challengers.... ;-;
