I have! My core team at the moment is Takumi, Hector, Linde and Ryoma. Takumi has been there since day one (well, day three really since I pulled him very early on) but he is definitely the MVP of my team. I want to put vantage on him to finish his build but I need some more fodder for him first.

Hector was a recent addition but he was just so easy to level up and I love how he is built like a tank. I was sitting on Linde for a while and decided to try her out after reading how she's supposed to be pretty major... I like her now she has some speed boosts. And Ryoma just pretty much destroys everything. I have Fury 3 on him and Vantage 2 but I'm not sure I like how Fury just eats his HP.

Other favourite five star rolls... my very first 5* was Roy and I adore him, he takes out nearly everything and has so much HP. I also have a Reinhardt who just destroyed everything when I was levelling him but I'm finding he is a bit of a glass cannon now, he can't really take a hit. I've also lucked into Chrom, Bunny!Xander, Caeda, Marth, Hawkeye, Hinoka, Rebecca and Merric. I want to look at Hinoka and Azura again because I feel like I'm under utilising them.

My other favourite units are Stahl, Cecelia, Michalis, Cordelia and Subaki, I'll definitely promote them once I have enough feathers (after I've promoted Xander). I'm also using Palla, Catria,Raven and Jeorge at the moment - Raven is great and I think he has the potential to be a monster if I can raise him right. I also just rolled a 4* Tharja so I'll start work on her soon (have to do something while I pray for Leo!)

And WOW I have rambled a lot so I'll stop now! Guess I have a lot of thoughts.

Currently of my 5I have 2 Colorless( though I've not been using the Kagero as I want to promote the 4 that has the better boon/bane), 2 reds, 1 Green and 4 blues....

Seems RNG favors blues for me :/, tempted to promote a green if I keep getting nothing but doubles.

Still kinda bumbed that Narcian wasn't the GHB returning after the data mine tease...there's just something about that unit that makes me want him even though I have 3 wyvern riders already. Nothing wrong with Ursula just would have been nice to see both ( though Ursula's GHB I was NOT as prepared for and added salt to the wound as Narcian I heard is a good counter for her map)

Haha thoughts are good! I always appreciate a ramble. Man I still want Takumi but sadly went too deep in my orbs with no results for Hero Fest. Oh well! He's still great but I'm happy he's lost a little shine, haha, because I don't have one. :P

And yeah, I have a couple of Hinatas ready to pass on Fury 3 but don't know who wants it most. Ryoma is in contention, for the slight defensive buff it provides, but also Azura maybe? I feel like she'd appreciate the slight defensive buff to make her impenetrable to reds, while a slight boost in offence and speed would see her batting off more foes. I tend to play defensively and prefer to bait where possible. And Linde and Nino, too, to ease them in to Desperation range. Decisions are hard.

There's also 5* MCorrin sat at level 31 who got on hold for more pressing projects. And 5* Azura and Minerva at level 1: Azura might get merged as her inherits aren't worth it, while Minerva will become Life and Death 3 fodder down the road thanks to her -Spd. Nino and Linde are both prime candidates but I'm not feeling confident enough to sacrifice her yet. :P

Which teams are we supporting? I'm clocking up points for team Tharja, looks like we're going to win quite handily at this point. Looks like is my rival here haha!

How did you tell? haha I think Tharja is going to win in the end (unless we get 3x bonus in the last hours and everyone burns their flags maybe), but I'm still using every flag I get for team Linde! I really like this new rule, it feels like every single point can make a difference! If Linde loses I'm probably going with Robin so we will probably meet again in the final! :P

I went team Henry dispite the odds being aganst him, he was my top fave in awakening and I couldn't go aganst my feelings just to be in the winners camp >_<. If he loses though I may go Robin....I summoned M Robin before the Gauntlet so I figured it might be fate.

Speeking of Henry though, I know he's lower tier but tempted to work on him. I know I commented but I'm wondering what of my Subaki's to keep, the +atk/-res, the neutral or the + def/-res one. One of the "losers" will be given to Henry when I get the sp for Quick Reposite (typo).

I'm going Team Leo, even though I haven't managed to summon him yet. Although I swear the game was trying to get me to go with Robin, somehow I have summoned five 3* Robins. I'm not sure who I'll go with if Leo gets knocked out...

I've now levelled my Xander to 5* level 30, and given him Siegfried. He's a wall, even without any buffs, I just need to get him some good quick riposte fodder.

I had never really thought of putting Fury on Azura, but that could be a really good idea! I fed my only Hinata to Ryoma for Fury 3, (maybe that's why I wasn't able to summon a second Takumi during Hero Fest, he's mad at me... haha) I haven't put any more skills on my Azura yet but when I was playing this afternoon she absorbed damage from mages really well so I might look at putting some extra resistance skills on her, I'm also thinking of giving her an extra speed boost. I hope you get a Takumi soon, he's a lot of fun!

-realized my Male Robin has -atk/+res- Ouch! Well.....at lest I have him so I'll be useing him. After all I'm running a bad IVed Takumi as he's my first and only one :/.

I downloaded this after hearing about it, but then after researching a bit decided to reroll to see if I can get one of the really good five stars to start out with.

omg. Haha I didn't reroll at the start and the ride was a little more bumpy for me, I admit, but I have been playing since launch so I've had a wealth of orbs to spend and get to this point. Which banner are you pulling from and for who in particular? I'd recommended female mage at the moment, some very solid units on focus there.

I was pulling from the Heroes, because of course the ones I'm hoping to snag are not female, but maybe you're right and I should relax my criteria a bit. I just....TAKUMI grabby fingers, sobby noises

Still, who are these unicorns who get two five stars in one pull? I get, at best, one five star every two completely new attempts. My luck sucketh.

Yeah trying to pull for a specific unit off Focus is a recipe for a headache. I thought I'd be more... casual when I started so didn't worry too much and rolled with the punches. I was naive. Takumi is of course a great pull, but if I got one with bad IVs I feel like I'd probs reroll further. Only because -Atk really hampers him, -Spd isn't as bad because he's more defensive than offensive. Also colourless is generally awful to pull from because omg so many crappy units. So it's probs smart to aim for a good Takumi now, and minimise the pulls you'll have to make on it later.

It's a shame your just missed Hero Fest. :c Man starting on that banner would have been bliss.

To be honest, I'm not even trying for Focus because I'm not quite sure what it is. except for the blurb that says it makes for a better character. Neither am I entirely sure what IV's are, nor that the same character might have different stats in that respect. I think maybe I should be reading up on guides while I'm trying pulls - I feel like the more I know about what I'm doing, the better off I'll be because I already know I'm not fantastic at actual tactics. But the game is so pretty and I enjoyed the Gameboy versions.

I KNOW RIGHT. ARGH. Well, who knows, maybe I'll still be rerolling when it comes around again. xD

To simplify it, you have a 3% chance to pull a 5* Focus unit and a 3% chance to pull a 5* non-Focus unit on a banner. On the female mage banner, for example, Sanaki, Tharja, Linde and Julia are the focus units. So pulling any blue orb with have a 6% chance to draw a 5*. 50% of the time it will be Linde. 50% of the time it will be one of fifteen 5* units from the blue pool. If you click the Details button on the banner, you can see the units available at different rarities. That's why pulling something like Takumi is hard right now. You're pulling for a 3% chance, and then it's a ~7% chance to be Takumi.

Honestly, it all seems super overwhelming at first but you'll get the hang of it. But yeah, it is good to familiarise yourself with some of the concepts to prevent any mistakes down the line!

Thanks for the run through! I'd figured out there's higher chances for those specified units in whatever banner to pull, and a higher chance for focus (I love those animations, btw), and a correspondingly lower chance to pull any of the others - especially when the color choices given to you aren't the colors you're hoping for!

That's why I'm rerolling like a fool, I'm a perfectionist and would like to set myself up as best I can so I have the luxury of making mistakes down the line and not having to pay for them too badly!

Yeah down the line you'll want to be more careful about which colours you pull. It took me a while to get my head around that - it isn't always best to do full pulls, despite the orb cost reduce, it tends to be more expensive in the long run when targetting specific units. I'd say it applies less at the beginning, when you want to build your roster, but something to consider when you have some decent units at your disposal.

On the female mage banner, for example, we have 2 reds, 1 blue, 1 green and 0 grey. It's been theorised that the % to draw a Focus on red, blue and green orbs is slightly higher than 3% because there's no grey unit, if that makes sense, to retain a 3% Focus rate on the banner overall. So ideally, you'd never want to pull grey on this banner. Reds will give the most 5*s per orb spent, on the other hand, because there's two on Focus. When I go into a banner now, I'm usually aiming for one or two targets and pulling their colours only, stopping when I have either of them.

That makes a lot of sense, given that there's a limited number of orbs and you don't want to waste them on a colorless pull if you're already well set for that type, for example.

At this point, however, I've kind of got unlimited orbs (haha, except for the 40 minutes it takes me to redownload all the things) so I figure it can't hurt, if only to see what I get. If nothing pops up, restart.

But in the future? You'd better believe I'm going to pay attention to it, for sure.

Sure! Have fun with it at the moment. There's plenty of orbs to start so don't feel constrained and keep on rolling and re-rolling 'til you're good to go. :) A lot of units can be crunched down with skill inheritance, too, so even if they don't seem immediately useful, you'll probably find a purpose for 'em a long way down the line.

I opted not to reroll at the start to get a more "authetic" experence. I've managed to get afew 5* pulls though didn't score any focuses from the new shadows banner today, granted I used the banner as a excuse for colorless pulls as I lack alot of even 3* colorless units.

After all that whining about not getting decent pulls, I got a 5 star Reinhardt and two 5 star Julias in one go. I'm...taking them for a spin to see how it goes. I could really use a sword or axe in my lineup, because Julia's range is abysmal, but...

Is there a way to tell at the beginning what IV a particular draw has? I think I can guess by what happens when they level up, but it seems kind of a guessing game at best.

Me too! These silly games just trigger the collector in me. I want one of everybody even if they suck.

Agreed, the doubles are driving me insane but the people here are helping me out.
