i don't know why, but when i saw the leaked images for robin and tharja i was expecting a cute dress like lissa's, and well. i don't mind sexy designs, i get that intsys wants that $weet fan$ervice ca$h, but i don't care how people justify it, that outfit is dumb. i do like the artist's style, so hopefully they get to do/did other units.

i want christmas chrom but i don't need him, so i'll probably wait and see what the next banner is. (and complain bc armor emblem is going to be an even bigger pain in the rear, hah.)

Yeah, I don't know why all these guys are armor units, I guess it sort of makes sense that Robin can only move one space at a time while he's hauling a whole f*ing tree, and Chrom maybe cus he's a pretty defensive unit anyway, but like, it still doesn't really make sense. I don't understand all the armor emblem buffs they are doing. Next banner everyone is going to have Armor Slaying weapons with armor buff nullifying skills because they're going to discover after this banner that armor emblem OP, so they have to nerf, like they did with horse emblem.

robin has a tree, i guess chrom has a heavy sack of gifts, lissa has... eh, she's got a metal crinoline or whatever (but she's got that in her home game too so i don't know what the excuse is here), and tharja... is pretending to be an armored unit to stay close to robin? idk

if these skills are as OP as everyone is thinking, i'm wondering how they're going to balance this out, unless the new skills are only ever going to be on seasonal units and it's balanced out exclusively by rarity? in which case i'll hardly ever see the skills in use since it'll be restricted to their prologue and like... the occasional armor emblem team. i don't generally see the crazy whale teams, so i'm not too worried about it o:

I have more than 170 orbs atm so I'm still going to pull on the banner hoping for 1 or 2 focus if I get lucky and I'll keep the rest for the future Legendary banner I guess!

I think I'm gonna aim for Tharja, Lissa would be a cool pull too. Didn't pick up either of the ranged armours from the Halloween banner so she'd be a nice addition to my roster.

I have fed my Oboro an Hinata for Fury 3. Now to spam the warriors maps to get her levels up and her SP up too! I run brave lance and death blow on my Cordelia and although I haven't finished all of her build yet, she is amazing as she kills most in one go.

I run Gronnraven+ and triangle adept on my Cecelia C: How is your moment of madness working out? I have an Inigo but I don't really use him for attack. I tried to level him up a bit but he very seldomly got to OHKO on his attack phase, and he wasn't strong enough to withstand the blows on the enemy phase. IDK maybe I was trying too high a level in the training tower or something. I haven't really done any SI on him either, I've only got his base kit.

Can I join the chorus of 'huh' when the Christmas units were released? I just don't understand what they've done with Tharja (well, I do, the fan service is strong with this one, it seems) but it's starting to annoy me. Tharja was one of my MVPs in my original awakening run (she killed /everything/) so I want to like her but I don't like her heroes treatment :C

I really don't know if I'd pull much from this banner. I like the art for Christmas Chrom and Lissa, and tbf Tharja does have some good skills so worth at least one roll. I have more blues than I know what to do with after pulling for Shiro, and Robin's art continues to underwhelm me, so I won't be pulling for blue. I'll probably save my orbs for the end of December event.

@ Fluttershy my inigo is +spd/-atk, and right now he's got keen gronnwolf+ (12 atk + null cavalry bonus), luna, darting blow 3, quick riposte 3, and distant def 3 seal. without bowbreaker to cover for gronnraven's bonus effect, it's basically a novelty build, i guess? he's... very delicate, and definitely a player-phase kind of unit.

he'll delete reinhardt (without blue tomebreaker, i... really don't know why i gave him that lol), but mine needs a bit of a boost to finish off mulagir lyn without gronnraven or bowbreaker, so while he will usually survive her retaliation, it's just safer to send in whoever's closest. otherwise he's decent at dealing damage but he does not usually finish off units by himself, though he does make a valiant effort against anything with res higher than 20 and he generally takes them down to below 20 health (looking at you, sigurd. leave frederick alone).

but like, if it's not a blue unit (that isn't fjorm) or a unit with really low res, he needs to do one of three things -- 1) dance, 2) chip the unit down, or 3) finish the unit off -- and he does that well enough with dancer's ring and maybe triangle adept, i think o: gronnraven or bowbreaker just helps him deal with lyn better. gronnwolf just looks cool lmao (and refining it gave him a cute pink aura, haha)

WELL my luck still is a thing. She's faltering but flickers on. I clocked 502 orbs before going in and came out with four 5s and 461 orbs. Bring on the legendary banner, I guess? Went in to two red orbs, one green and two blue. Kinda didn't want Robin so went around, pulled the reds, nothing, pulled the green, Christmas Lissa who's +Res -HP, pulled the blues too because why not, Ephraim the second pops out. 8) His IVs were mediocre so promptly merged with my existing one. Then went back in and pulled reds, my fourth Athena, first 5, appears. Think I'm gonna give Ephraim Sturdy Blow 2, actually, as it'll synergise nicely with buffed Siegmund. I have a better IVed 4* Athena in my barracks, too, if I want to build her up down the line. Next attempt around gives three red orbs and last one gives a Tharja. She's +Def -Atk which is kinda lame but could be worse, just happy she came home quickly.

Well, I got lucky on my 2 first pulls (Hinoka on the first and Christmas Robin for the second), so, since I still had 140 orbs I thought why not try for another one? Well it was a really bad decision because now I have a 4.75% pity rate and only 17 orbs left. I should have stopped right after getting Robin! Let's hope we get a TT before the legendary banner :c

I've read that Tempest Trials are planned with the new units, apparently. I briefly saw that quotes were found in the latest datamine (which must've come with today's patch) indicating they'd be bonuses.

It's quite fun running Amelia and Tharja together, actually, Armour March is a blessing for ferrying units around the training maps. Forgot I was supposed to be waiting for 2x SP weekend, whoops, and got her started early.

Ah I see. To be honest, I don't know if I like Inigo enough to invest in to that extent. unless of course they add do for dancing.

Tried my luck on the Christmas banner, game has a sense of humour because I got regular Tharja for my free pull. Had enough to go again, got 1 red and 4 greens- got Nino number 8, Bartre, Soren, Liliana and Frederick. That's enough summoning for this banner.

Also: I promoted a Cherche for flier emblem and finally got her to l40... only to realise at that point it she is not +atk :( I feel too invested in her to stop now but still :/

On a plus side, Oboro project is coming along well, with Slaying Lance+ and Fury 3 she has 50atk and 38def. I have want to upgrade her Lance again, I just need to decide if it should be +atk or +def. I'm leaning towards atk but need to do more thinking first...

I'm keen for the def and res upgrades just because of the numbers, but obviously that depends on how you want to play the unit. I think I'd go +Def to enhanced already good match-ups against reds and blues.

Quietly, I'd say Cherche doesn't really need +atk so don't be too upset. Brave+ and DB3 overshoot on numbers all the time, Just from a quick check, +Atk only tilts 6 match-ups from neutral to favourable. With Draconic Aura or Bonfile she'll have an even easier time tearing through her counters.

Also my Inigo is -Atk, tailored with Gronnraven+, TA3 and Bowbreaker. Very reliable unit and found his way on to my arena team, shafting previous mainstay Azura for his aptitude in manoeuvring past B!Lyn who I always manages to cause me a headache despite always attempting to play around her.

yeah, i wouldn't recommend my silly one-off build (mostly i was trying to get used to using up limited/high-value units -- it didn't work, i still don't want to use my extra summer gaius), but if you have the fodder available, the gronnraven / TA / bowbreaker build is worth it, i think. if you can park him behind three good walls (maybe one with reciprocal aid+renewal), he can take on camilla's lvl35 map by himself, so the march for sp goes pretty quickly when we've got the 2x sp bonus o:

and as for cherche -- this doesn't help now, but you could merge her in the future if her current boon/bane doesn't work out o; i'd also favor +def for oboro, but that's 'cause the no-damage ding is my favorite, haha. (and we get refining stones at a pretty decent rate anyhow, so if you don't have any other builds in the works rn, i'd just go with whichever looks more interesting to you, and then switch if you don't like the way it's working out. she'll keep both weapons, and you get to stockpile divine dew.)

I randomly refined Rhajat's Keen Gronnwolf because I need those Dews nn, stupid forced currently. I want to bequeath good Ephraim with the upgraded lance already. :c

Ooh good shout, that would boost her bonfire skill as well. Obo was a lot of fun to level on the Camilla map, the ping was pretty frequent and she could even hold out against some greens. I didn't know that you could refine the weapons multiple times either, that is exciting to know

The only other weapon I really want to refine right now is Fujin Yumi but I need more see for that.

Thanks for the advice on Cherche, I was really kicking myself. I don't have a special on her yet but I have some spare dragons kicking around so draconic aura would be fun. Now to decide who to fodder for death blow 3!

I wouldn't mind upgrading Julia and Lyn as well, as their upgrades seem pretty handy and I feel like I overlook 'em pretty often. But so many dews! I guess I'll upgrade Ninian's Lightning Breath, probs with Res, and I've been thinking about looking at my Faes and Young Tikis as I have a nice stack of both now. Rise up Dragon Emblem! Haha locking the dews away is so mean, smart to force us hoarders to spend though.
