Didn't hear about the IV yet. Dad is actually a bit better after a bad night. We might be headed in a good direction. My sleep is much better. dad had a bad infection and was hospitalized. It landed in his spine and is still there maybe. He is having to use a wheelchair.
congrats on the house and camp going well. glad the trip went well and happy you got to see such a nice concert. why does recovery have to be so slow? Hope you and your mom are both doing better.

I haven't been watching Doctor Who lately. I do hope the new Doctor will be awesome, though! I want to get back into the show, it was just when I stopped watching it, the writing/stories was just not what I was really expecting. I think the last episode I caught was when the moon or whatever turned out to be a giant egg. After that we just stopped, lol.

I loved Peter Capaldi as the Doctor (though I admit he wasn't given the strongest of episodes at times) and am sad to see him go. Like whenever the Doctor changes: I'm hopefully optimistic.

I'm not going "OMFG! A woman doctor! This will be the best!" and neither am I going "OMFG! A woman doctor? Doctor Who is dead to me!"

So I do writing commissions on fiverr (as well as editing, though no one usually chooses that one) and who can very VERY loosely be called a 'friend' asked if I could help him with organization (spreadsheets or something on word). I showed him what I did and yet he still asked for his original request.

Oh, dear I am so sorry your "friend" didn't get the message easily. I always feel cautiously optimistic when there is a new doctor. They did a good job setting up a new female doctor with the last few seasons. I like that they gave her a kind of time lord history backing for gender change and didn't just thrust her onto the stage.

that was a jarring episode. I like the new companion after Clara though so you might catch up with those episodes instead? Though, you don't want to skip Ashilda.

Dad seems better, but I don't know. My parents let me sleep in today so that is a good sign. I have a big headache, but am otherwise fine. The new boutique sets are so lovely. I might have trouble waiting for the sales to get them.

@ dracoren @ RinKaari I've not gotten to watch most of Capaldi's doctor. It was hard for me in the beginning as it was for the end of Smith's time because I mostly didn't care for Clara. Though there were moments when I did quite like her. Proof that writing and story matter. Then our cable company stopped carrying bbca so I never truly got the feel for Capaldi's doctor (and I read that this past season was his best in some people's opinion). Not sure I'll ever catch up as I don't see bbca in my future and I'm not sure where else I could see it. I saw Whitaker in Broadchurch so I have hope for her acting and the new showrunner.

Night is always worse than daytime. Hope your headache eases and that the doctors can get your dad's infection under control and completely gone. ❤

And, yeah, they did set up the new Doctor being a woman. I wasn't that surprised about the announcement as they have been heavily hinting towards a female Doctor.

One part of Clara I really disliked was when they killed her and then brought her back the next episode which, to me, really defeated the impact of her death >.>

They had built up that she took too many chances and that that would be the end of her. Then she ends up traveling with Arya by the end >.>

I really like Capaldi at first, and then the stories just ruined him...it was like they were giving him nothing to go off of for his own character building in the beginning.

I tend to not reply to people who ask for help, and then not take any of the help given, either. It's like...I just tried to help...did you not see that? xD

Yeah, Clara is one of those companions I liked, and then disliked. I didn't really feel she had a lot of consistency in her character. Maybe she did later, but...yeah x)

Stories were the weak point but they weren't bad enough to ruin him for me. He was also a cutie XD

Hi all, just popping in. so now I will share what's been going on.
my soon to be x son in law, assaulted my daughter and the kids were trying to fight him off. got the police out there so she could get some of her and the kids stuff and they moved in with me for the time being. We found her a house for rent in a decent neighborhood, have had a lot of furniture donated to her by churches, got the lights and water, sewer and garbage haul started today.
Now all we have to do is do a clean on the rental and move them in.
yes she does have a job so she can handle all this, but she will have to save up for the lawyer to start that.
I got her a cell phone because her soon to be x cancelled her previous one. everyone needs a phone, right?

Mom had her 1 month follow up today. Everything looks good. She is off protocol so she can move how she likes (is comfortable for her). I expect tomorrow's physical therapy to be hard for her because now they will really start exercising. :) Said it would be at least a year for her to be at the point she'll stay.

That's terrible! hugs to you and your daughter and grandkids. Glad she could get out and had you to help her! ❤️

Been spending a lot of time taking care of dad and then just resting on the couch. He is declining so we are all kind of annoyed and worried and stressed. His mobility is down and pain is up. He sees his gp today and gets the results of the mri so we are hoping for something or anything. If not from his gp then maybe the spine specialist on Tuesday. I ranted at him and mom yesterday about the not being able to do anything because we have to care for dad so much since he can't do much for himself but stressed it was not dad's fault but the situation. I really really hope there is something that can be done. He doesn't want to live like this and I don't know if mom and I can keep up this level of care for long.

Dad doesn't have to get the infusions anymore yay! The infection is dead. He is still having trouble moving, but the extra rest he gets not going to downtown everyday seems to be helping. He is back on the computer we just need to get him a wireless keyboard so he can type more comfortably.

nope not moved in yet. waiting on woman to finish the curtains, sigh. hopefully some time this week

Mom had an off day yesterday but seems to be feeling better today. We made chili this morning which is simmering. My brother in KY is coming up late tonight so we'll have chili for dinner tomorrow. He'll have to head home on Wednesday so we really only get a day with him.

My computer wouldn't start this morning. Says it's corrupted. I'm on mom's laptop atm while I have lunch. Waiting for my brother to take a look at it. Hopefully it can be fixed and won't need a complete reinstall. Not backed up in a couple months. :(

That's awesome about your dad. Hopefully now he can start working on getting stronger. Will he get any therapy to help with that seeing as he was immobile for so very long?
