Ah man that Gutting Knife would be so nice against Slyph too You're so close to that T8 though, just a little more! Haha xD it's 10 wins to get all the loot you can, but the good stuff is at win 5 ... apart from achievement loot

am I close? heh. I've stopped looking. I felt like I was NEVER going to get to the end. and considering how much my "experience points" really came in handy, for that stupid slyph, then it's probably and excellent idea to continue to 10. and I'll have to remember that.

(I'm going to go back and try to do 5 more with the slyph today, and then work on another one of my pets, to try and raise her tier.)

I think you could get to 10; I'm just at the start of T7 and I got 7 wins without too much trouble, his crits are scary though You're only 34 points off actually, spend all that exp ;)

Haha I just keep a calculator on my desk, I'm better with long equations than simple adding [sup]weirdness[/sup] Urg, colour, coming up with pallets and colour schemes takes me longer than the page itself sometimes xD I basically only buy black clothes to save me having to match outfits together ;P [sup]gosh your avatar is pretty![/sup]

Some opponents you get achievement prizes at 10 or more wins, but with all opponents you get the max amount of experience with 10 wins. Don't fret! You can take your time and get there when you're ready

Thanks! , I admit, coming here and venting and hearing advice from you all, really helps me keep on going. I guess I've done ok this year. I checked, and it's really only been this past year since i've been working on actually achieving some of the battle challenges.

grin. and i feel like i've been tier 7 ALL year. lol i don't do enough battle challenges. I know that's a major help with you all, but i simply fall down on the job, in that respect. heh. :)

ok. back to the blasted slyph.

I've always loved math and science. That's why I became an engineer, only to realize you use very little of what you learned at school and the rest is on the job knowledge lol.

It definitely takes patience and dedication. My second pet was at T5 forever and my main was stuck at T7 two years ago. Then I really made the effort, said I was gonna get serious about battling, and now my main is at T12, my second close to T8, and four more pets in training.

What weapons are you using against the slyph?

Ah, that's your problem! Math is Greek! Pi, alpha, beta, gamma, delta,...

- yes, I hear you. That's partly why I started training all three of my pets (but I'm probably never going to have a whole pile of pets like some of the top battlers). For what it's worth, my T7 pet is using a Batwing Blade while he waits to be able to wield the Large Gutting Knife and that seems to work well for me.

- math proofs? now that really is serious! I do math, but haven't done any proofs since college. As for Greek, I can remember running out of Greek letters and having to use a few Hebrew ones at one point.

OOOOO, I think I have some awesome weapons, and I'm finally figuring out how to use them. (grin. MrCool is to GREEK for me.) /giggles again. can't help it. i find that funny. but then. it's the little things that amuse me./ :)

(wait. heh. you all don't know me. maybe i need to translate what i meant, about MrCool? he has all that advice, and he's always has the stats for the challengers, and i never understand what he's talking about.)

let's see. the ones i'm using againest the slpyh is... OH! I start out with the Frozen Ocean Curl and the Shards of Space and Time along with a Glaciating Pylonic and oh darn. i forget the scroll. :( not terra firma, even though i have that one. oh. i probably use a Cobalt for that first hit.

I also use Phoenix Quill (if i'm lucky enough to freeze him) I'll use something like the PQ and Forj Tempered Kusarigama I still haven't quite figured what to throw at him, if he's frozen. I'd like it to be something that would really hurt him. try to get in a good punch to him.

I also use Death Shard and darkness? shard. and I'll use Mercurial Throwing Vial along with the SST and FOC. to try to freeze again. (or at least once. sometimes, he doesn't freeze)

OH! and along with the Cobalt scrolls (I think i have 4) i also have the Morostide scroll!! so that helps with keeping me alive, and alot of times, that's my "finale'" .

I also have Frost Thorn in my set, but I never use it. I mainly use those, 3 weapons, along with the different scrolls and pylonics/throwing vials.

OOOOO , Batwing Blade? I've looked at that, and debated. but truth, i'm really trying to save for a rainbow vortex. I feel like that will be more useful for me in the future. (heh. besides. I can wear it!) :D

- wow! You have waaay better weapons than I do. I have yet to spend any serious sP (let alone CSC) upgrading. So far I've been mostly holding out until I figure out what I really will use long enough to be worth the expense. And I haven't enough really begun on scrolls yet. You are going to do well with those challengers! Go get 'em! :-)

- I got it as a gift. If you'd like to try it I could loan it to you. I'm definitely not the right person to pick a good weapon set for anyone (including my own pets).

LOL that's because, , along with spending millions on hair products daily, I also spend millions on getting those weapons/scrolls (and REAL CSC$) and am flat broke 90% of the time, because of it. :D

I also have bought weapons, that I can't even use yet. :D (Like the Gutting Knife) but then again. I've wasted csc buying the Eternal , and it never did anything for me. (I could never figure out how to use it in battle)

and that's a BIG waste of csc. heh.

and I don't know him, but I am SO Grateful to him for his guide!! Even though I don't understand what he's saying in reference to 'stats' he DOES make suggestions on which weapons might be good to use against them. and THAT helps me HUGELY!

ARIXEN, Thanks! but that's ok. I'm doing alright and ever since i used my experience points, it's been a lot easier beating the slyph. (well, not easier, but i've been able to keep up with his higher numbers every time we fight) :)

- that's why I don't let myself spend any real money on gaming, if I started, I'd probably never stop - :-) Glad you're doing well against that sylph. with what you already have. So far I have been saving all my experience and battle tokens and stat boosters. I guess I should start trying to find out when is the optimum time to start using them all. I've already heard that I should think about using stat boosters rather than reading books to increase intelligence. Maybe someday, I'll actually feel like I know what I'm doing with training, weapons, scrolls and battle. Too many variables to keep track of for me.
