- I've done all of my quests for today. 1 day down ... 7 more days to go.

I guess they figure we get the sP by doing the quests. :-)

Carl was very nice and gave me an [item2=Gender Berry] today. Didn't know he could do that.

- Thanks. Not sure about creepy - just a drunken pirate. Don't think he's ever given me anything quite that good before, but there are supposed to be better prizes when he falls asleep and you pay yourself (if that still happens, I usually am questing too quickly to read the text :-) ).

- doing Battle Quests is good. And there are also the TBT challengers to play with.

I should try and get back to doing BQs more often. I was doing pretty well at getting them done until the new UI. But Surge gives me fits when he shows up (and I'm too stubborn to quit because I know I can eventually get a win). With the new UI it takes longer for me to fight a tough battle, so I wind up skipping him which I feel bad about. And, to be totally honest, while I love the speed of the easy quests with the new UI, I find it to be too mindless to be any fun at all. I admit it was something of a grind the old way, but I would usually play little games (like trying to one hit using only a single weapon, or trying to end each battle at full health, or ... ) and now I just mindlessly click my way to Level 20. So I have trouble being interested enough to bother. :-(

I do Shinwa, the Wizard and Saggi. Then sometimes, Quentin. But when I train (or restock) and run low on sP in hand, I do extra quests to get back up to my preferred minimum - and Carl is good for that. Also, sometimes, I just want something to do - either because I'm waiting for a training session to end in a few minutes, or for the Token Shop to restock, or ...

This week because of the Quest-A-Thon I am trying to do all 10 of the 9 legal quests (I don't have anyone I would hand over all my sP to in order to do Sarah "legally", and I don't have an active Gold Account.)

[edit] Forgot about Weekend Quests. I try to always do those as well. :-)

I always do Shinwa, Sag, Wiz, Library & Quentin quests every day and then some Carl if I have time. Carl can occasionally give out special items. I think I got a plushie worth 99 million from him once. Will finish the rest of my quests today.

My big worry when I took Easter Kitten with me on travels was leaving her somewhere, so I always checked things over before we left. The only surgery she had was to remove the hard, plastic whiskers she had. Easter Kitten used to have a smooth coat, but after a few trips to the wash, she isn't so smooth anymore, but I still love her. I surprised that she's held up so well, I think I've had her for over 20 years. I'll be honest, I still sleep with mine at night because its a comfort thing and my husband hasn't really complained.

I've never gotten a sweet/savory flavor from onions, but it's probably due to me being put off by the squeaky sound when chewing them. I'm fine w/ onions when they aren't noticeable, but not when flaked or chucked. I can't even do fruit pieces in cakes. I don't eat fruits much (I'll snack on the occasional apple or grapes), but I'm more than happy to drink them as juices. I just have to pay attention to the labels for strawberries, because I'm severely allergic to them (which knocks out a lot of things). o.O People drink onion juice?!?!? Hubby thinks I'm weird b/c I'll drink the juice that olives are in, but not a whole glass, only a few sips. So far, I've gone a week w/ no animal related injuries. https://katy17.deviantart.com This is the link to my DeviantArt page., where my crafty endeavors are, but I need to get some new things uploaded. Fabric is expensive here too, depending on what you get. Joann's Fabric now has 1930's themed fabric but its $13 a yard. I'm going shopping tomorrow and might grab some, so glad I have about 6 coupons. I don't need more fabric as I got about 1/2 the fabric my grandma had, but sometimes I find a print that's really interesting/pretty. Muslin is even worse. A year ago, I spent almost $70 on 4 yards of muslin. I got it home, looked it over and it had ink stains in random spots, so I returned it.

With the quest-a-thon starting, I might be on every day now for a while.

The Henry Doorly Zoo is amazing! I've been there 4 times now. Hubby and I went last year for our honeymoon and they were working on additions. Had them completed this year, but they are now working on a new Asian exhibit addition to move their tigers to, and to add new animals. We just need to go in either the spring or fall, when its not so hot and their are less children running around.

I'll watch out for them. Hopefully the calves in the fall are better behaved. Yeah, that's very true. My horse loves to be close and has no sense of personal space, so there's times he steps on my foot or knocks into me when I'm leading him. Horses can be unpredictable while riding them too. If you don't pick up on the signs they're giving you that they are scared/stressed they can blow up and possibly throw you off, which has happened to me. Maybe he was scoping out the area to see if it was safe and determined that it was in his best interests to find a new hunting area. A couple days ago I saw a spider crawling on a box, and he quickly moved to the edge and slowly let himself down the side, as if he were trying to hide. This house didn't always have a spider issue, but they somehow found their way inside one summer and took over. By the end of that summer, I think I had killed about 125 spiders in the basement, bathroom and bedroom. I never did figure out how they were getting into the bathtub. One day, there was a new spider in the bathtub every time I checked, so I assumed they came up the drain. I wouldn't be happy about having a spider and centipede among my things either, but since the spider infestation, I carefully check boxes and containers before going through or moving them. My horse has always been a little flighty, but he's started to mellow with age. Just seems like he still likes to have is moments to keep things interesting, but that just makes me leery to climb on his back. I'd like to eventually get a ranch horse that is bomb proof, so I have a safer horse to ride. I've never had a horse sit down while I was riding, but I have had a horse take off because it had been trained to run fast for rodeos. I've also watched a horse make a beeline for a pond and refuse to leave. So far, my husband has confirmed that he is going along with me. He has some prospects for jobs finally, he's just waiting to here back. Last week he was helping a local farmer rewire his new house, and still has some more work to do with that this coming week. I'm finally getting their mailers with coupons again. The post office wasn't forwarding them so I missed out on some. Then Joann's website appeared to not be updating my address and kept popping up a message that they confirmed my request to stop the mailers. But I got two sheets of coupons in the mail, so my address with them is updated. Culver's is delicious! I typically don't get burgers from fast food places because they always seem really dry, but Culver's has some juicy burgers. My husband had never eaten there before, and he was pretty impressed and loved their new pub burger. He really liked that they have parking spots for the drive-thru so the line isn't held up. Their ice cream is pretty good too.

Cows can be jerks, especially when trying to help them or their calf, but they taste delicious so its kind of rewarding when the mean ones restock your freezer. The cattle I work with are a polled breed, so I don't have to worry about being gored by horns,I just have to worry about getting kicked, trampled, or squashed in a corner. My horse tends to be a bit of a head-butter when he's being affectionate and I've had market hogs that tried to push me into their mud hole for fun. Haven't been around sheep too much, just enough to know that I don't like working with them, the whole herd mentality is a pain to deal with when trying to separate one sheep out.

Probably just me being somewhat strange, but I get a kick out of seeing all the different ways people use to spell Quest-A-Thon. :-) I think it's one of those words that's a bit impossible to remember how to spell.

The ones I really would like to do are Amy's Quests. I managed to miss those too.

Thanks for the information about Carl's quest rewards.

Yay! Please keep up this stay healthy streak.

I always love any zoo and most of them have their own special features. The Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the top rated zoos in the world from what I can find by Googling. I'm sure I'd really enjoy it any time of year (maybe except for really cold winter).

Culver's does have some good food - I like their fish. There are a few places here that I like better for burgers. I used to be a big Steak N Shake fan but there isn't one conveniently located any more, so don't know if I still would feel that way. I do like Culver's ice cream, and I have enjoyed some of their salads as well.

I should keep up this streak for awhile. At the moment its too hot for me to work my horse. Temps are in the upper 90's, so with an outdoor area to work in, I don't want to make myself or my horse dehydrated. When cooler temps arrive, I'll start working with him more.

There's a zoo here in Kansas called Tangyanika, that lets you interact with the animals. You can feed the giraffes, rhino, and birds. The have a ring-tailed lemur island that you can go on, but its not as cool as it used to be. You used to be able to sit with the lemurs and let them climb on you. There's a zoo in the town I lived in for college that's a little bit of a letdown due to lack of animals.

I got their chicken strips the last time I was at Culver's and those were pretty good. I tend to avoid burgers at fast food places because I've never been impressed with them. One of my favorite restaurants is Texas Roadhouse. They have amazing rolls and their chicken fried steak is super tender.

I went ahead and bought a 1 week gold account, so I can do extra quests and price my shop faster. Hopefully I'll recoup that cost is a couple days. Just hope I don't get tired of doing quests.

It is nice that my husband has some job prospects now, it was looking pretty bleak two weeks ago, when every electrical company wasn't hiring.

It would be nice if there could be a one week exception for Sarah quests just to help reach that goal. I've never been able to do her's and I wasn't able to do Amy's quests for very long either.

- Tangyanika sounds like fun! I've been able to touch/pet various animals in the past but I always love doing it.

We have Texas Roadhouse. Haven't been there in awhile because they're sort of in the wrong direction. Yes, good bread (ours served small loaves, rather than rolls last time I was there), excellent steaks, good ribs and peanuts are always fun. My favorite place for steak (or beef) is actually a Brazilian Steakhouse. Expensive, but excellent service and great food. I tend to go there for special occasions. Was there this past Memorial Day with visiting and local family and was greeted by one of the managers who mentioned that I was there for Memorial Day last year too! Imagine remembering that after a whole year of customers. :-)

I opted not to buy/use a 1 Week Gold Account Medal for this Quest-A-Thon. I still need sooooo many expensive battle items. And, I only count the income from the extra five quests per giver as offsetting the cost of the GA since I would be doing the other ones anyway. So it's not really break even by that reckoning.

And I always try to keep my shop relatively small and only handprice. The few times I tired autopricing I found it doesn't really work well for me. And I don't like the way you can wind up selling an expensive item unreasonably cheaply if anyone else makes a pricing error.

Is your husband an electrician? Seems like there should always be a need for them. Glad to hear his job prospects are looking better now.

Tangyanika was fun, my husband had been there before, but he was disappointed when he took me due to changes that had been made (lemur island). We went on a weekend trip for a concert and the zoo. My husband was going to propose at the concert but then realized he would have to take the ring out at the security check point. The he was going to propose at the zoo on lemur island, but due to the changes he scraped that idea too.

The nearest Texas Roadhouse is now 2 hours away from me, so my husband and I will only eat there whenever we visit his parents. But when we were still living in that town, we would eat there every now and then. There are some steakhouses an hour away from me, but I haven't looked into any reviews about them. That's a really good memory to remember you from a year prior. In college, I ate at the Subway in the student union so often that one of the employees knew my order and just had to ask if I wanted my usual.

The last Quest-A-Thon, I made 5 to 6 million a day doing all the quests I could. So I guess by those numbers it would take me about 3 days to make back what I spent on the Week medal.

I don't use the Autopricer, and haven't for at least a year. There one thing that needs to be changed about it for me to even think about using it again. I think all items should start in the "no price change" category, because its too time consuming to go through every item to make sure prices don't change. With the gold account, I don't even use the autopricer, I just use the lowest price number on each item to quickly price items and get a quick turn-around. I keep an eye on the items and leave some of them un-priced if they should be priced higher than the lowest value shows.

He is, but he doesn't have his Journeyman's license yet. There are things on the test that he would like to get some hands on experience with first before he takes it. That was his thought process too, along with one of his friends and my dad, but he's contacted 15 different businesses and only 2 gave him some consideration. There were some that never answered when he called. One of the businesses that told him to submit an application, drug their feet for 3 weeks before they finally gave him an answer about hiring.

I am still getting used to the battling changes. I still like battling, but mostly for leveling up Talon.

I was always worried about that too! I would probably still sleep with Kimmy if she were a little bigger. She is so small that I would be constantly losing her in the bed lol. ~

what I did to do Sarah's quests was create my own forum group. Then if I want to do her quests I just put all of my sp into that and then take it back out once I am finished.

- aw, your husband sounds like a sweet and thoughtful guy. And I guess he managed to get the job done somehow since he is now your husband. :-)

The truly amazing thing about that particular restaurant is that I don't think it was anything special for them. They truly try to deliver that level of service all the time to every single patron.

True. But as I said, I would only count one third of that amount, because the sP from the first ten quests will be made even when I don't have a Gold Account active. So 2 million sP over 8 days (assuming you use the medal later in the day on the first day and then get all those quests done early on the last day) is about 16 million extra sP. And, right now (possibly due to the Quest-A-Thon) a 1 Week Gold Account Medal is selling for about 19,,600,000 sP, so not quite break even in terms of payback. (But not so bad a cost if you use some of the other features and are doing it to help with the Quest-A-Thon.) I was very undecided, but finally for this week, my battle list came out on top.

Quote

Ah - that makes sense.

That's a shame, but I would guess that things will improve once he has his full license.

- glad to know it works for you. For me, I'm still not sure. Before they restored all the weapons to full opacity and also took the battler commentary out of a scroll box, I was seriously thinking about quitting battling which was (and hopefully will be again) my main activity on Subeta ever since I started spending time on the Battle Chat thread and found out how amazing all the battlers are. (I do love all my Shark friends too.) Now I'm feeling really guilty about not having done Battle Quests in a while.
