I've been terrible at making sure I check in on Subeta every few days....granted my desk has overflowed again and I haven't taken the time to reorganize.
Vacation was fun. Hubby and I went back to Omaha and and spend half our time at the Henry Doorly Zoo and the rest of our time was split between chilling in the hotel room and exploring Old Market.
Yeah, it needs to stop. Next on the agenda at will be working calves that will be born this fall. Hopefully no more injuries occur.
Yeah, its a fact, though I originally thought it was a joke too. The CDC has some statistics about it. "...one research study reported an average of 22 deaths a year by bovines, typically due to stomping or goring." Their kicks hurt too, if they get you in the right spot from the right distance. Apparently horses cause an average of 20 deaths a year, which is understandable because you can be killed our seriously injured if you get bucked off. Had a local farmer pass away a couple years ago because his horse bucked him off and he hit his head just right.
I would be checking every place I step, sit and everything I touch after that. I hate the spiders that I occasionally find in my room. Once I had a little black jumping spider hanging out in a corner of my room near the ceiling. It never moved and I thought it was maybe a hole until I inspected it closer. There was one night many summers ago, where I killed 16 spiders in under half an hour with a fly swatter. The last spider was on the underside of a table and I have no clue where its body ended up. I was shaking out my hair and checking my clothes multiple times. I sometimes wonder what the spiders are thinking too. I've had them stalk towards me like they're on the hunt. Maybe that short flight gave it a mini heart attack and it high-tailed it once it recovered.
Its nice to have my horse here now, however today he was a butt-head. We had a thunderstorm this morning with a down pour of rain, so I squeegeed excess water off of him. My husband was going to dry him off with a blanket, but my horse flipped out, drug me backwards and reared. And that was after he had freaked out earlier because I wanted him to step up on to higher, dry ground.
If my hubby and I move to the other farm, I think we would then be paid for whatever work we do on the farm after that. For now my husband has a temporary job helping that local farmer get the house they are moving into rewired.
I hope I learn a lot at this workshop too. I'll be taking a notebook with me so I can jot things down. My husband might be tagging along because he has an appointment on the military base the day after my workshop is over and he has to finish rewiring a trailer for his dad. Its not set in stone that he's going with me, but it would make the 2 hour drive a bit more enjoyable. I've got about 2 weeks until the workshop, so there's some time to get that figured out.
Pretty excited though, Joann's Fabric now has fabric with 1930's designs. Their a little pricey, but I got about 10 coupons in the mail that I can use by the end of the month, so I may splurge on some fabric.
& Talking about fast food, Culver's has amazing food, but they're mainly located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Now that I've moved back home, I only eat fast food when every I go shopping in the bigger cities.
I still have a little stuffed leopard that I got for Easter on year when I was a young. Named Easter Kitten (super original, I know) and it went everywhere with me, even on trips, because I could sleep better at night. Haven't had to patch her yet, but she has had a few visits to the washing machine.
Awe I think that sounds really cute ❤ My poor little Kimmy went everywhere with me too and I slept with her every night. She had to have several "surgeries". She had her nose glued back on along with her hands and feet. Now she sits on my computer desk. She is no longer fluffy, but I still love her :D
Bought a new outfit :D I couldn't resist it!!!
the fries were delish. my diet is a sham. x_x
It's morning and I'm having a bit of chocolate cake -- and almonds --and pistachios...
As for what said there is a chain of Crown Fries. I've been to a few. Their fries are consistently on the crispy side. An order fills up a footlong wax paper bag that could fit a baguette for cheap. I prefer their chicken wings over their burgers and subs.
That's too bad about the onions, watery sweet and savoury - I love them. Corn pieces in cornbread does sound strange even though it should be similar to fruit pieces in cakes. Fruit and veg are generally easier to consume juiced. Have not tried onion juice though -- I was curious and googled that... omg people can bear drinking that :O Hooey!! How's that for whiskey? :]
Maybe when things are less hectic you could show us your projects. Fabric and wool are expensive in the city.
Emily is my daughter :) Kimmy is my koala lol.
New questathon announced. Wow guess we did too good last time, new goal is 1 million. Can we do it?

Wow that is going to take a LOT of work! I think we can do it!
Hey and hi everyone :D
- I always get on Subeta every day for the Bathhouse, but I don't always do other things, so please don't worry about it. Besides, real life is the most important.
Spending half your time at the zoo sounds like my kind of vacation. I love zoos and always tried to get to one anywhere I traveled.
Yes, please, watch out for those calves. No more injuries for you while you put them through their workouts.
I guess almost any animal can be dangerous in certain circumstances. And big animals don't even have to be trying to hurt you. Sometimes, just their size can be a problem.
The spider came back a few times after it's cross room flight, but I haven't seen it for several days now, so maybe it has moved to safer (for both of us! :-) ) hunting areas.
Wow - I don't think I've ever had 16 spiders at once inside. I did have a spider and a house centipede wind up having a battle in my bedroom up near the ceiling once. They both lost their grip and fell into my stacks of books. I was not happy about that at all.
Sounds like your horse needs to settle down. I don't know much about taking care of horses so I guess all the ones I've ever interacted with (or ridden) have been really tame because they were used for public lessons or riding. I'm not sure I've ever seen a horse rear, although once when my Dad joined me for a trail ride, the horse he was given decided to sit down like a dog with my Dad on his back. Fortunately, my Dad (who is not used to riding at all) just kicked his feet out of the stirrups and slid down the horse's back and managed to get far enough away before the horse could get up to kick (I don't think it actually tried to do that, but I remember being worried about it). After that they gave him a tamer horse instead since we were still all at the barn. :-)
Good luck working out where you will be living and what work you will get paid for. And also with the workshop. It will definitely be nice if your husband is able to join you for the travel.
Joanne's always seems to have a coupon available. Hope you enjoy your fabric.
We have Culver's near here too. Some of their food is very good. And, of course, there is always the ice cream. :-)
Personally, I really love cornbread with corn in it! I also like it with jalapenos. I have no problem at all with mixed textures. And I love all sorts of fruits and vegetables (including onions) but I don't think I would drink onion juice - that doesn't sound good at all. Fruits and vegetables are usually healthier if you eat them whole (rather than juiced). The fiber is good for you and it takes fewer calories to be full. (But if you can't or won't eat them that way, than unsweetened juice is a good second choice.) I have to admit, I really love apple juice (and apple cider too), although I eat a variety of apples as well.
- my Mom was actually really smart. She bought two of the same stuffed dog. She used to wash one while I had the other one. I only have one of them now though.
- I find Crown Burgers in Utah, and Crown Fried Chicken chains. Neither of which is anywhere near me. Am I missing one?
- I'm sure they'll figure out some way for us to get it done. Besides, it looks like they added a few incentives for those of us who are uninterested in another pet slot (I already have more than I'll probably ever use.) so that should help as well.
Yup "Cows may look docile but they kill more than five times the number of people that sharks do. Using statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one research study reported an average of 22 deaths a year by bovines, typically due to stomping or goring.
The study noted that horses are also pretty lethal, causing up to 20 deaths per year. Agricultural workers are among the groups at greatest risk of "death by mammal," a category that also lists cats, pigs and raccoons as the cause of death."
from this article
Cows are electric poop jerks D:< Burgers are delicious, no regrets :) Be careful around all those hooves :o
Sometimes when an animal is affectionate or wanting attention they tend to ram. Experience with 3 cats 1 of which was a biter, bulldogs. a black dog I don't know the breed of and the one sheep I petted when I was younger. Consider it a high-five. :D
The spiders are thriving and they keep finding their way back to my living room. If the spiders you found were tiny, maybe an egg sac exploded in/near your home.
I tried to look up the locations for Crown Fries I knew but they aren't there anymore. Idk of a Crown Burgers so it's probably a Crown Fried Chicken :x ?
If Emily had to have her nose glued back on along with her hands and feet. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! 😧 :) 😃
YES WE CAN
- well, I suspect that lots more people interact with cows (and lots more cows) than with sharks. And agricultural workers have a dangerous job all around. I think they also have high incidences of injury and/or death by machine as well.
Most of the pet dogs and cats I've known and interacted with have been much more gentle. But then, they have all been house pets.
I try to leave all the spiders and house centipedes alone so they will eat the other bugs, but, sometimes, they show up where I just can't do that.
That is really smart! I never would have thought of that lol.
Video gaming can get crazy! Hey super glue is cheaper then going to the doctor :P When I was a kid the philosophy was if there wasn't anything hanging out or falling off you were fine lmao!
I can't do that for Emily. When I bought Simba there was only one :( and she has over 250 other stuffed animals (mostly lions) so that would be a fortune!
- oh - she only did it with my very favorite one. The one I carried everywhere with me. I had tons of other stuffed animals that were all just singles. :-)
I did buy Emily another Simba a couple of years ago (I think he is called rattle and roar) but she decided that he is Simba's brother Norbert lol. She still takes Simba everywhere and Norbert likes to stay home.
- yes, that can happen. I know someone who tried to get two Ernie's (from Sesame Street) but the second Ernie which was purchased a bit later after the child had decided on a favorite had slightly different looking features and was never accepted as a full equal. (Kids can be both observant and very smart. :-) )
Sometimes too smart! I remember when Emily was a baby and it was awful to give her medicine. I tried to give her medicine in a special binky. She put it in her mouth for a few seconds and I thought it was going to work, but then she took it out and turned it over. When she saw the medicine she handed it back to me and wouldn't take it again. So much for that great idea lol!
- just goes to show she has always been a very smart young lady. :-)
The questathon has started. Let's get working. :D Don't need the pet slot but could always use it some day. Also don't need raffle tickets or referral point. But will do as many quests as I can. Wish they had other prizes though like maybe a 1 week gold account medal or CSC.
