I only have one battle pet (Talon Karrde). That way I can just concentrate everything on him.
The new NPC has been announced. Aw, I didn't really like this one. I thought one of the others was better.
CWs for Sale or Trade https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/24266
- I actually only wanted to have one pet on Subeta. That's how I started - just me and Tos. Then there was some sort of event that asked us to create a pet, so along came Tharg. And then another event or quest wanted me to feed a pet and both Tos and Tharg were in the resort. That was before you could remove a pet from the resort. So I made Gulp (and that's also how she got her name). Then recently I had a bunch of those pesky battle eggs in my inventory and Gulp was suddenly Tier 4. And they had those little bitty TBT challengers - so I decided to make 81 (pronounced Eighteen) as a new baby battler to use all my eggs and try to beat the TBT challengers (she did - and the next month's as well - she even managed five wins against Frosting Beast - guess I picked a great time to start a new battle pet). So four battle pets. And at least until we get that new pet slot, I also have a visitor - GRRREEEYYYAAAHHHH so one extra for training. But four is my limit. In fact, I'm a little surprised that I created 81. :-)
When I first started I was convinced I would only have 2 pets. I kept saying I only wanted that many and no more! Now almost 11 years later and I have 37! LOL
- 37! Wow - that's a lot! At least you aren't battling with all of them. There are a few battlers who do battler with whole armies of pets. Some of them are very VERY good at it too! :-)
There have been plenty of times where I've woken up in a panic because I didn't know where Easter Kitten was, only to find her on the floor or somewhere in the depths of the bed. Easter Kitten is pretty small, maybe about 6 to 7 inches long.
I thought about doing that, but wasn't sure if it was totally worth it or not. I've never done any of her quests so I don't know what her rewards are like.
Most of the time he is sweet and thoughtful, other times he's a pain in the but. He ended up proposing outside of a 50's themed diner we found later that evening. It wasn't ideal and I kinda felt like I forced him to do it, because I had a feeling he was going to propose that weekend. We've been married for a little over a year now.
That's good. A lot more restaurants need to be like that. I've been to some places where the waiters/waitresses seem like they don't give a hoot and others are just creepy. The first time I ate at Rib Crib with extended family, the waiter kept asking "What are we having?", "Are we having a nice day?", etc, to the point where we were tempted to ask if he was paying for the meal.
I made about 5 million yesterday on quests and another 1.5 mil from what sold in my shop, so I guess I also factor in some of the items I get from quests into that number (like mage amulets from Quentin). I snagged my Gold Account Medal for 19 mil, the next one was 19.6. The previous Quest-A-Thon, I used CSC that I had stockpiled up to grab a One Week Medal, I'm still on the fence about spending real money for anything on the site.
That lowest price value is a nice feature, and gives a quick idea of how much the price has dropped for some items in my shop. When I hand-price, I scroll through the list on shop search and pick one in between two numbers that is close to the top. Half the time when I'm hand pricing items, I find something that really cheap, so I buy all the cheap items to frag. And I usually don't have many items to hand price, I just fell behind from the last Quest-A-Thon and never made pricing the items a priority. I've used the Autopricer about 5 times, and lose patience with the system about a 1/4 of the way through. It just becomes too much clicking.
Things should improve once he has his license. However he wants to help local farmers in the area with electrical, but at the same time doesn't want to start his own business.
I liked Kanyin the best (I'll be honest, he was the one of the few that had a bio that I liked) and was hoping he would win. We need more pet-type NPCs.
Ahhh, I read the entries but didn't vote :x even after seeing 's deadline.
From what I remember I liked the anthro, it was creative to make them pincushiony then again it seems weird to have a pet shopkeeper as Subetaverse = Animal Crossing/ Pokeverse cliche is run by humans not 'mon because they don't know any better... It wasn't realistic (within the virtual site). We have pet npcs that wind up not doing much like the Harvest Dragon (minion) and Oatmeal... other than that, the only shopkeeper I can recall that resembles a pet is Ujin (Fresh and Flavorful). I don't know how to explain further,
I also liked the bio for the Shengui Guo girl who is not up-to-date with slang. And the girl with beans in her pockets. They had quirks which made them seem real.
If only they'd leave up the selected entries.
Overall it was a good surprise seeing not the best drawn entry winning.
Don't know if I'm sick, allergic or if my body is trying to get rid of the wine I had last night. I've been sneezing with a runny nose for hours.
Gawsh , watching boozy men fall asleep? Leave the creeping to the creepy pirate :P
- nobody's perfect - sweet and thoughtful most of the time sounds good to me. :-)
I know people can feel pressured to have a picture book proposal (or holiday or ... ). Especially with so many "special moments" captured online. But, to me, being married and together and a team supporting each other is really the important part. So, hopefully, you can just focus on that (and maybe your wedding) rather than the proposal.
I am lucky to have many restaurants around, so there are always going to be some with good service, but my favorite Brazilian steakhouse really surpasses them all. And they are known for that in comments online too, and from everyone and anyone I've ever had join me there, so I know it's not just my personal perception.
Sounds like your Rib Crib waiter needed a little more training. At least he was erring on the side of being too attentive, rather than ignoring you and/or forgetting to bring your food or drinks. :-)
You have a really good point about the items that you get from questing. I rarely sell any of those, so I generally don't count them, for the actual sP bottom line, they absolutely should be added in (especially if you are able to sell them in your shop, or they are something you would have purchased for yourself anyway). Certainly not trying to say it isn't worth it to use the GA medal, just trying to explain why I wound up deciding not to this time around (and it was truly not a completely easy decision).
As far as spending real money for any online games (even Subeta) I already know that I simply can not afford to start doing that. Not saying other people shouldn't. After all, I love Subeta and am very grateful to those who can and do spend real money here to help support the site. But for me, being both a computer person and a gaming person, if I once started spending actual money, I'm not sure I would stop - so I just don't let myself ever start. No exceptions. One of the things I like about Subeta is that it is completely possible to earn CSC via other means and to be fully involved and even support the site in so many other ways.
You are right. That lowest price feature is really nice, although now you can get mostly the same thing with an item hover. I have only rarely had a Gold Account active, so had completely forgotten about that particular perk. :-)
Maybe he can find a partner who will be willing to handle more of the business end??? Hope he has much success whatever he decides.
- well, you were certainly right about Carl's prizes during events. Today he gave me a [item2=Nightmare Potion] :-) I hope he is being equally good to you.
I know! I admire their dedication because that is way too much work for me lol.
That is about the size of Kimmy :D I used to have the same problem. I was always paranoid about losing her!
It can be a pain, but she pays out pretty good in sp!
Hey I have to get my free entertainment somewhere :P Don't judge me! lol
- me too! And I also admire how willing most of them are to share their techniques and what they have learned to help other battlers.
- Sarah (and Amy before her) has quests designed to help new users get started. I've never done them, so can't personally verify, but in theory, the payout is supposed to be somewhat higher than other quests in order to help accomplish that goal. Of course, since quest rewards can be (and are) tweaked every so often, it's hard to compare unless you are doing them regularly.
Yeah I really like that too :) on another site the battlers treated everyone like dirt and acted like they were better than everyone else. They always seemed to have an attitude even when you just asked them an innocent question. I avoided them. You don't have to do that on this site.
- no you certainly don't (thank goodness!).
I am constantly impressed by the way so many people on Subeta are kind, thoughtful, supportive and generous to others - often relative strangers to them. One of the things that makes this such a special place.
That is so true :) that is one of the reasons that I love to anonymously gift random people. Over on Neo I didn't want to give anyone (unless they were a friend) anything cause most were so rude!
- I like to gift random people sometimes too, but generally not anonymously. I am sort of torn. I'm not looking for credit for those gifts, but I also am always so curious when I receive the odd anonymous gift. And I always want to at least say thank you to anyone who gifts me. And then there is always the chance to start a dialogue and make a new friend, or help someone with a Subeta question. I definitely admire you for being an anonymous gifter yourself. Any thoughts or suggestions for me about this?
Every so often, I also like to gift the gifters when I notice them. And I like to send a note telling them that I appreciate their generousity to others and think that it is their turn to be on the receiving side .
I do most of the gifting at Christmas time. One year I put in a really nice Christmas poem for all of the gifts. It was a lot of fun. Someone made a board about it on the gift bragging thread so I lurked the thread and found out if everyone liked their presents lol. Usually I check out the news comments or the boards and a post will get my attention, so I gift them if they are having a bad day or something. During the holiday I lurk the mysterious melody board and gift people who were ignored or let down. People really like it if you have some kind of theme. Like if you are going to gift a few people and put in a pic for each one or give yourself a cute name.
Congrats! :D I don't think I've ever gotten a potion from him. Already did all the quests today and nothing special.
Do any Sharks need a 1 week gold account medal to get more quests done?

I agree, I'm not perfect, and I hate people who think that they are perfect and make zero mistakes (and any mistake they make if the other person's fault). Hubby gets on my nerves, but I couldn't live without him, he makes life interesting 😄
I wouldn't say that the proposal wasn't perfect, I just feel bad because I started crying when we stopped at the diner, then it felt like I had forced his hand. My husband and I had a perfect wedding (to our standards). I feel like nowadays people spent big bucks for the "perfect" wedding, and we wanted to spend as little as possible. Now we are just focusing on getting things lined up to build a house.
For date nights, my husband and I can drive an hour to eat out at a nicer restaurant, but for the occasional eating out close to home, a 10-15 minute drive takes us to a small town with 3 small restaurants and a diner. My friend owns the diner, so I eat there quite a bit, and the food is delicious (hand breaded pork tenderloin sandwich has been my go to this summer).
Yeah, it was just a little creepy after awhile, but we had a good laugh. My hubby and I have had the over-attentive waitress before at Applebee's too, I think she was at our table at least once every few minutes. But we've had the non-existent ones too.
Oh no, I totally understand. I generally cant justify spending that much on a GA either, but since I will be on for most if not all of the Quest-A-Thon and I needed a quick way to price items in my shop, I was able to justify the costs a little bit. I think I've made about 1 - 1.5 mil today from my shop, because I finally repriced most of the items to help reduce inventory. I would say most of the items I get from quests go in my shop. Food items are either fed to Spirill or go in the vault (preparation for food donations in fall), and any collectibles I don't have go to their respective collection. When questing, I generally start with 1 mil onhand, that way I can calculate profits for the day quickly.
There are some games on my phone that I spend really money on, but only to access the full game. I have the Google Rewards app, so that gives me some credit that I can use in place of my money. When I was playing Lord of the Rings Online, I would occasionally buy the cards pre-loaded with credit to access DLCs, but now I tend to stay away from the micro-transactions that most games are based on now. It is nice that Subeta can be enjoyed without having to spend money. The CSC I had saved up was from the occasions staff gave it out when the site was having issues.
I've noticed the item hover doesn't always show the most up to date lowest price. My internet also takes its time loading the item hover, to the point where I give up after watching the loading wheel for close to a minute.
I would possibly be that partner. I've already helped him make a spreadsheet of supplies needed and their costs broken down into the areas they are needed in, for my friend's business. He was just going to do a straight list of items, but I thought it should be organized. Funny thing is, he doesn't want to run his own business.
I may have to try out Sarah's quests. Might not be tonight, because I still have 45 quests to finish. Haven't gotten any amazing item's from Carl yet, but Pete has given me some nice things
I'm still paranoid about losing Easter Kitten, but now its not the stay awake until I find her while freaking out, its just the check the usual spots, find her, fall back asleep. I also have a Easter Kitten 2.0 that I was given before I left for college. She's twice the size and doesn't get lost as easily. She does need a wash though, I don't think she's ever been in the washing machine.
I'll have to give Sarah's quests a try, but probably tomorrow. Once I finish quests I'll be playing some Shadow of Mordor.
The best way to wash a stuffed animal is to tie them up inside a pillow case. It works great :D and it gets the pillow case washed lol.
New cash shop opponent!

- I'm pretty sure most couples get on each others nerves every so often.
Perfect wedding should always mean to the couple involved. After all, it's their wedding! And I don't see any reason why a wedding needs to be expensive to be wonderful and memorable. To me the point is the marriage and sharing it with friends and family in a way that is special to you.
Wow - it would be amazing to be able to build your own house. (Of course with an electrician in the family, you have at least one important area taken care of. :-) )
Your friend's diner sounds wonderful to me. Nice to have that option.
Can certainly see how a GA would be helpful when you are planning to be here daily for the week and usually don't do that. Sometimes it's just all about timing and what else is going on in your life (or even on Subeta). Between the battle UI changes, Wayward Squirrel and things going on in real life, I just wasn't ready to make an extra time commitment this week. That was probably even more of the decision for me than the actual cost.
I try to start Shinwa with 100,000 sP out for the same reason. It really helps to know about how much I've earned. Sometimes I also check amounts for certain quests to see if they are worth doing, although now I have found any quest shows a profit if you do all ten of them - even if that profit is small.
Yes. My CSC is from site issue awards, the Bathhouse (150 CSC every month for over a year now), a contest/giveaway/raffle or two, and a few very generous gifts. Since I generally don't ever spend it, it does start adding up after a while.
I don't have to worry about games on my phone because I don't have either a smartphone or a data plan. :-) I already manage to spend far too much time playing games just using a computer. :-)
If the two of you can manage to spend time working together (possibly every day) and still be able to spend time together as a couple and make that work, that could be a great solution.
If you want to try out Sarah's Quests, you either need to be poor enough, or give your money to a friend to hold. That is okay according to staff. Using a forum bank to hold your money in order to do Sarah is not allowed.
Yes, I can remember Pete sometimes giving me something out of the ordinary, but not so far during the Quest-A-Thon. And nothing special from Carl today either, but I can't complain. Even Quentin is giving out amulets (sometimes when he's the weekend quest, it seems like they become very scarce).
Shadow of Mordor looks interesting. The Nemesis system sounds like it could make a game more realistic.
- thanks. Maybe it will be your turn tomorrow.
- forgot to mention (although you probably already know this) that Carl's picture doesn't change any when he falls asleep - only the reward text for the quest, so if you're trying to quest quickly you might miss it altogether.
I like to gift people who do something special, or who are having a bad day as well. I prefer not to do it during the holidays. Don't want to be disrespectful or spoil anyone else's celebration, but it always seems to me that lots of people are gifting then, but not so many the rest of the time.
I do love how you put so much extra effort into your Christmas gifting. Adding a theme or writing a special poem is so nice of you, you are actually giving something of yourself and investing your time. And it's really fun that you are able to see people enjoying your anonymous gifts because they are posting about them on a forum thread. I always like to know if I've managed to pick something that was really wanted or that made someone happy. And, even if I use a wishlist, sometimes it can be especially hard to tell online.
What?!?! We don't get a funny image of him passed out (prob drooling)? That kinda stinks lol.
Last year was a lot of fun. I joined in the empty tree gifting along with the anon gifting. I did try the mysterious melody a few times, but it just seemed like I was giving to people who did not want to play along. I never wanted anything expensive because I would feel about if I could not send a ton back. I just wanted holiday themed items, or a little effort put into it at least :( I would do waves of themed items. Like for one I sent an ice skating outfit with an ice rink and skating music. Then another wave was a comy chair, pajamas, slippers, hot chocolate, cookies and a few books. Just things like that. I really prefer the tree gifting or anon gifting. It was just nicer to give to people who were not expecting something rather than someone who is hoping to be bombed with expensive things.
