- good luck, hope you find the perfect kitty.
I wouldn't worry too much about that. Real life always plays a big part in Wayward Squirrel. Deadlines are extended, teammates cover for each other. Disasters happen and the whole event gets put on hold. And it's okay and it all works out in the end. Just join if you're interested and then go with the flow. :-)
Sounds like a great place to shop if you want wearables. :-)
- congratulations, nice to be able to buy something you really want.
Allergies can certainly make cleaning tough - especially as a job. Glad you are back to admin and have found a job with good hours!
I don't usually have much on my wishlist - and the things there are mostly super expensive and not likely to change. But I do sometimes check prices on battle things I might need or want.
I also like Agatha Christie and have read and reread many Hercule Poirot and Jane Marple mysteries. I enjoy a number of other older mystery writers as well.
Went to see Dunkirk with family on a birthday outing and it was really an excellent movie. Then thought about the fact that it's such a well known story in England but rarely mentioned elsewhere and just decided it would be a good thing to learn more. Found what turned out to be a very informative book and read it. As almost always, the book really had a lot more broad based information than the film.
We only use one table but do clear the games away for a meal. Since there are no little ones around (just us grown ups) we are very careful about any food and drinks that are consumed while the games are out. Some of our games are pretty expensive and some are not readily replaceable so we keep that in mind.
Hope you are able to get back to gaming soon. It's always so much fun!
I do get lots of SubQ invite events too. And I have a bunch from the Bathhouse I don't really know what to do with since they're in your currency vault and can't be sold or traded. Guess I should find someone to shop for - either as a gift, or for some reasonable exchange.
Thanks, went ahead and joined Team Shark - seems appropriate considering I was adopted long ago already and spend so much time here. (And there wouldn't have been any drama from me either way anyhow.) Just somehow never really thought about it before.
Joined the Empty Tree group too (thank you for that link). If you want a volunteer admin, I'd be happy to help, just let me know. I knew it was someone I knew that hosted that great event but just couldn't remember - there's been soooo much battle stuff lately I've got that all jumbled together and everything else is mostly forgotten. :-) Absolutely the best idea! I encourage anyone to participate.
I don't put a tree or any decorations up any more but I always get the pine candles and air freshener as I love the scent. Yes I see how it tell you how far to the next tier for each pet, which is why I was putting a few of them in battles to get exp points. Got another one to T12 but most of the rest are too far away to move up now. And my top pet who has been T12 for a long time now still has about 7K more points to go to get to the next tier, so that will be a while.

I love finding old stuff I never thought I would see again!
This year I am going to shop for everyone on my friends list and then hit up those empty trees :D
I hate when that happens :( I wish it was set up that we only get it after we finish all of his quests.
Thanks :D I know we will love any kitty that I can get before Christmas!
Ok hun that is good to know! I will check it out when they start up again and see what I can do.
I love wearables! Especially the rainbowy ones lol
Yeah, just some stability would be nice and not sneezing would be a definite improvement.
You have a very tidy wishlist then! Mine is a sprawling monster, but it's handy for when I get prizes from quests and can spot straight away if it's something I was looking for.
Yay for Poirot and Miss Marple! I have read some of Gladys Mitchell's books as well, with the cackling psychologist Mrs Bradley, which are fun. There was a TV series of Mrs Bradley too, but the actress was much more glamorous than the character in the book. I like the original Sherlock Holmes stories too.
Yeah, I think the same is true of many films, they have to cherry pick bits to include whene there is so much information and so many things that happened.
A sensible food/game plan. Unfortunately our incident was adult based, but hasn't been repeated since as far as I know!
I think a lot of things jut got out of the habit during the weird hours job. so fingers crossed, some normality can be resumed!
Ooh, lucky about the SubQ invites! Well, if you're not going to use the Bath house tokens, maybe they could be used for some Luminaire gifting?
Are there specific places to post about trading? I know you can set up trade lots, but haven't really used the system much.
Or next time I am running a contest I'll have to see if you have any leftover for prize donations!
Huzzah for an additional Sharky! (To be fair, the drama reference was just because the word had come up in other posts I was reading along the way, nothing more). You'll be in the loop for some of our silly (and fun) contests and other bits and bobs.
Oh, that's great, I will get you added to Gifting admin! I know I am going to be away and possibly out of internet range for about 5 or 6 days during December, so having a few people who can update things and ping the group will be super helpful.
Scents of the season can be just as fun - let's face it, the food smells are great too.
I have a deal with my other half, I love to decorate, he hates decorations, so I put things up and he takes them down (as soon as he can!).
There may be throwback challengers coming or another plot with battling that'll help increase the pets too. Even when it's a long term project it's nice to know what you're aiming for, so I like that change.
It's amazing sometimes how you see something and it just sparks all kinds of memories, even if you'd forgotten about it in the meantime.
Luminaire is always a lot of fun, we can look forward to it.
Oh, that would make so much sense if the Wiz buff only triggered after you'd done the regular quests. Unlikely it'll happen though - takes the element of chance and means more 50 tokens get given!
- it is frustrating to get an extra Wizard Quest before you've finished the first set, but still a nice extra. And you can increase your odds of having it come afterwards if you make questing one of your first activities. After The Bathhouse, starting new training sessions, and a couple of other things I get out of the way just so they don't get forgotten, I start with Shinwa's Quest and then finish off my Wizard Quests. That way, I very very rarely have a problem - and even then it's usually only on a day when Wiz Quests got postponed for some reason.
- I'm sure you will fall in love with any kitty you get.
I'll try to remember to let you know when Nutsy starts (that's her shorter, puzzle oriented Mystery roleplay). I think it's usually just after Thanksgiving. You might enjoy that one too.
Ah yes, I remember some of your gorgeous rainbow bedecked HAs. :-)
I doubt they would ever do it that way. It would be a lot better for us though lol.
starlesswinter Yes I am deff looking forward to Christmas :D
arixen I love kittens ❤
Thanks Hun! I will probably be around a couple of days after Thanksgiving when we get home from up north.
Rainbows are my favorite things on here to collect (that and food lol) even better is rainbow food!
Yes, those both sound like good things. LOL
That must be useful. And my wishlist is tidy only because there isn't really any one special thing I need or want. Mostly just a couple of things that caught my attention for some reason. And no real use to put expensive battle stuff on a wishlist which is mostly what I need that would really get used. I do have one big messy category marked please do not buy where I tried to keep track of a few things, but that doesn't seem to work well for me and I'm planning to delete it after I get a chance to sort through what's in there.
I have read all the original Sherlock Holmes as well as some continuations (like Laurie King). But I don't think I've ever heard of Gladys Mitchell and Mrs. Bradley. I'll definitely have to try them. Thank you - always so excited to find a new series to read!
Yep. Especially films about real events and people. But that's okay. I can enjoy the film and then go find the book it was based on or some other good book about what happened.
Hooray for more normality in your life. Always a good thing in my opinion.
I was actually talking about the SubQ invites from the Bathhouse that go straight into your currency bank, but I don't have much use for Bathhouse Tokens either - at least for now.
However, I am not planning any Luminaire gifting and am asking everyone not to gift me either. Last year, which was my first Luminaire since making a lot of friends, was way too overwhelming for me. And, to be honest, it's not my holiday season and there are no big gift giving holidays in our tradition. I don't want to spoil anyone's fun or holiday celebration - and often share activities with friends in real life, but I find it's just too much all at once. I don't enjoy what I get and I'm totally frazzled trying to find things for everyone. And then even more frazzled trying to thank everyone. I much prefer gifting at other times when each individual gift is a joy and when I know that it's often unexpected.
But I also am aware that there is a lot of sadness during the holiday season as those who are lonely or who think their lives should be more like all those movies can feel unhappy, left out, or even depressed. That's why I really love your Empty Tree Gifting group and what they do. I don't want anyone to feel miserable because they are forgotten at a time when it can feel so much like everyone else is busy having fun. So please count on me to participate in that and help in whatever way I can. I am planning to make that my one major Luminaire gifting activity this year. And thanks for making me one of your admins.
Yay for more Sharky activities. I'll look forward to seeing what comes up. I like silly and fun and bit and bobs too. :-)
- rainbow food sound yummy!j
Hopefully, you'll be able to join in then.
Woo-hoo, thank you The Oracle: Reward: 15 Point Wizard Token AND Your pet QuothTheRaven gains 3 Level! AND 3,917sP!
We can keep wishful thinking - site stuff that was unbuyable now can be bought and Zombies don't have to have one skin forever, so we never know!
I intend to buy fresh tinsel to prep for the Yuletide festivities and encourage myself to do the broken bauble clearance. Nice new things will replace the cracked!
checks wardrobe Yep, still there. ;)
I wonder if that's what my problem is - I sometimes try to log on first thing just to grab the Bathhouse and the Raffle (nothing else) and then may not get back on until later in the day, so maybe it's counting that as being 'on' the site? Guess I'll have to try doing Shinwa/Wiz asap and see if that improves. Managed it today though, huzzah for the internet not being terribly slow.
Yay for new book finds! I would say Mrs Bradley stories have vintage psychology and a touch of the eoteric about them. There were some reissues/reprints a few years back which was good as the old ones were a bit expensive. Have you read any Ngaio Marsh mysteries? I haven't read them recently but did when I was younger. Inspecter Allen was the main detective.
Yeah, I am that way with documentaries, I can get set off and want more info about the topic. Less so for films, but that's probably just because I watch those less often.
It will definitely be worth going through any listing that's stuff to NOT buy - because under the 'search wishlist' feature - which a lot of folks use for Luminaire gifting - I don't think it tells users which list the item is in, just that is it in Xs wishlist. Speaking personally, I often use it to send stuff to people I don't know, if I have an item and none of my friends have it wishlisted, so you might come up on there for other folks who do the same.
D'oh, sorry, thought you meant Bathhouse tokens! Trying to multi task with too many screens open as usual. xD
Hopefully you can have a more relaxed Lumi this year. Folks can get super enthusiastic about the holiday, which can be a little intense sometimes.
It can be a bit manic, but I try to do my best without spending loads - always in budget! Once I gift something, I don't mind if the person uses it, frags it, sells it, vaults it, whatever.
I just like people to have something to open!
The Empty tree project is good for people. Some who are quiet all year start posting just to help. Those who can't afford to gift often help out by finding people's names for the list, and posting to keep the board high up amongst the other boards, and those who do gift are so generous.
I absolutely agree with your sentiments and comments and your help will be appreciated.
❤
plotting mode for Sharky contest Have to see if I can fit a mini one in before Lumi kicks off, or wait until the new calendar!
Especially rainbow cake! mmmmm cake!
Realized I've been a bit MIA. Christopher (hubby) and I started moving into out rental on November 1st, and have been slowly moving things there. I've spent the past week unpacking boxes and figuring out how I want things organized. Yes, the 2 in 1 isn't designed for gaming. It has decent audio but a very small graphics card. I like how lightweight it is which makes it easier to take while traveling. I do like playing games on a desktop more, because its easier with a mouse and I plug in a decent set of speakers for better audio.
I'm not sure, I suppose the jeans could be scratching the screen. If I have my phone in my pocket, I can't fit anything else in the pocket...the downside of most women's jeans...the small pockets. I'm careful with my tablet because it has a more sensitive screen for drawing, and I try to keep my electronics looking nice for as long as I can.
I have a picture of the puppy on my instagram and facebook, but it won't show up here using sCode, so. I may have to upload the photo to imgur or photobucket to share it.
I don't like crowds, so Black Friday shopping has never had a huge appeal to me though my husband and I might go this year. In terms of Christmas decorations, I've got decorations that were on the family tree when I was a kid and then I have loads of cat ornaments.
I've finally found a shampoo geared towards curly hair that actually makes my hair look nice. I've learned that my hair needs to be almost dry before I go out somewhere, otherwise it poofs. My husband likes my hair curly but he also likes it straight because he can play with it easier.
I know very few makeup techniques. I won a free bridal makeover where I learned a few tricks, but it ended up just being a plug for Mary Kay makeup/recruiting salespersons. I mostly own eye makeup and lipstains, but I usually only wear one color of eye shadow. There have been a few times where I have removed all of my makeup to start over when something didn't look good.
Pistachio (my parents' cat) would bat around the treat puzzle for a few minutes before walking off and glaring at you until you caved in and just tossed him the treat.
Moving is going slowly. We have most of the furniture moved. Now its just a process of unpacking things and getting the rest moved. I think I have 3/4 of my crafting supplies moved, but I haven't had time to organize the room, so most of its on the floor.
We've had a few days of winter weather here already and then had a few days of 70 degree weather. Next week, Chris and I are off to his parents for Thanksgiving and maybe a little Black Friday shopping. It is hard to get family together. In December, some of Chris's family is getting together for an early Christmas, and there was some back and forth on what day would work.
I'm just happy that Hawaii Five-0 and Father Brown are still on Netfilx, but I'm not happy that Murdoch Mysteries has been removed, so I'll have to find somewhere else to continue watching that. Its on Hulu, but Hulu is no longer free, so I may have to see about grumbling to Netflix (if I find the time)
Chris and I were too busy last weekend, but maybe this weekend or the next, we can take a trip to the cinema to watch it or the new Thor. I think I used to own the book, but I may have donated it.
He ended up not having to do the PT test due to the side effects of the antibiotics he was taking (dizziness, rapid heartbeat and lightheadedness)
I got a lot of duplicates from Charity last time too, as well as from Fantine. The extra pumpkin pie items from Fantine, I just gave to Charity.
If you still have the Wrapped Chocolate Drizzle Gumball, I'll take it, its one of the many Morostide items I still need.
- my personal guess is it's actual site clicks and possibly even extra weight given to questing activity since I seem to get the extra quest more often when I do more quests (but of course more quests means lots more clicking too, so hard to tell). On the other hand, I guess it could depend on what state you leave things in. Are you still logged in, could there be something that makes the site think you're clicking? After all, I've never seen any of the actual Subeta code, so I have no idea how things really work. :-) Still the sooner you do Wiz Quests, the less chance you have to be disappointed by a premature extra one. And hurrah for a cooperating (and not slow) internet.
Yep - I own a few Ngaio Marsh and have read all the Inspector Alleyn mysteries (and loved them) and the Dorothy Sayers Lord Peter Wimsey as well. (Can you tell I read a lot? LOL)
I don't see documentaries any more because I pretty much don't watch any television (not quite sure exactly how that happened). And I very rarely see films - usually only a couple a year (all my screen time seems to be spent with my computer). But Dunkirk just happened to be one of them. :-) But I sometimes will even do that for internet articles - or even something mentioned casually in a book I'm reading. I love learning and often just want to know more about something or other.
I figured that out at some point. Although I am very much hoping there will not be any Luminaire gifts of Subeta items to me.
When I gift people I don't know, I usually look through their wishlist directly rather than using that feature. (I tend to get some extra sP by doing some of those "extra" quests and/or games and then use that as my gifting budget to find something. But I do then sometimes also check my vault or alternative purchase options to help stretch my giving power. I hope that made sense.)
No problem. I do the same all the time. LOL And, in any case, since I wind up hoarding currencies unless there is something that I just can't resist - or I use it for gifting - you could probably have picked almost anything the Bathhouse gives out and still been right. :-)
I intend to have a relaxed Luminaire. I will participate in holiday threads and contests where appropriate - I enjoy coming up with movies and songs and pictures to share with those who want to see them, or trying the puzzles or whatever. And I will visit Melody daily and collect whatever. I never put up a tree - it's just not appropriate for me, in my opinion. I wouldn't put one up at home, so why do it here? And then I can focus on making sure that no one who does want to be included gets left out. And on just enjoying the company of all the friends who make every day on Subeta special for me throughout the year. And on being thankful for everything I already have - including my friends.
I'm really impressed with your organization and budgeting abilities in managing all that Luminaire gifting. And I really love your attitude. A gift is intended to show caring, so if the message gets across, then who cares what the recipient does with it afterwards.
I agree - I've already asked a couple of other friends to join in filling the Empty Trees this year. And at least one has already expressed an interest.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Oh oh - she's plotting. Can't wait to see the results of that, whether they be now or early next year. :-)
My fur girls are little pigs and 1 of them will keep flipping the treat puzzle tubes until she gets all the treats out. The other 2 sit & watch & wait for her to flip the treats out for them.
I only like nature scents like pine, Xmas tree, ocean breeze, forest, etc. I never get any candles or sprays with food odors like apple cinnamon because I figure they would just make me hungry. ;)

- oooh rainbow cake sounds really delicious right now. I think you're making me hungry. :-)
- I know it's a lot of work, but must also be exciting to have your own place again.
I always use a mouse with my laptop - and could add speakers too if I wanted. But a desktop designed for gaming is going to beat out any general purpose device.
Not really sure either. Maybe you just need a case or a screen protector for your phone.
I'll look forward to seeing that puppy picture. :-)
I am looking forward to cyber monday! I never go out on black friday :( I only have a few ornaments that were on my tree as a kid. I wish I had more of them.
Oh wow that cake is awesome!!! I would love to be able to make a cake like that!
I just threw a bunch of scratch cards in the donation center. :D Good luck. https://subeta.net/explore/donation.php
