Yeah I get it to an extent, and it's still not a great thing to do to betray someone's trust like that. At least in those cases though, the person who made the CWs still gets their CSC from it and the item they wanted.

I just see some people getting so angry about CW related things sometimes, and while I can understand being upset at some things, it just seems like people overreact sometimes and IDK.

Things like the Black Friday sale are supposed to be a fun little gift from the site, and I just feel like people are going to end up making it not fun. But we'll see ~

- that's true, although there is still that trust thing. And if I lose my lent weapon, I lose sP which, eventually, I can replace. But if someone actually creates a CW that is someone's personal artwork and can't be easily replaced with something else. I think, for Wayward Squirrel, the CWs offered are often depicting part of the plot of the roleplay - like a background showing the inn where we all meet at the start of each year''s storyline. So I could see being very unhappy if that went elsewhere - especially since anyone who wants can participate and become a welcome part of the group.

But I also see your point. There are many things where it seems like people might be overreacting (although it's hard to judge if we don't know the full story). In the end this is a game site and there's nothing here but pixels (although I do have mixed feelings about relegating non-staff artwork to just the status of pixels (just to be clear, it's not that staff is, or should be, less invested in their artwork, it's just that it's not private and is done to share with all users) and our friends and other Subeta users. I think some of the controversies could be avoided if everyone remembered that.

I guess you have to try to ignore any controversy that you aren't involved in and just enjoy your shopping. And, maybe, if someone complains that something is supposed to be private, find something else to buy - since I'm guessing you have to choose and can't afford to buy everything that you would like if you had unlimited funds. But, of course, you have to do what feels right to you in any case that might come up.

Oh I know! That is why I try to buy all my CWs from the shops. I hate using the CW boards. I just never felt comfortable. Yeah some creators get downright nasty about their CWs. For a while there when CWs first came out it felt so cliquey. Some people wanted to keep their items exclusive to certain people who basically sucked up to them. I used to see posts made on other sites with people arguing over private CWs being sold and stuff and they were just nuts. Taking it way too personally! One example is when I saw someone being ripped apart for selling a private item to another user that the CW creator happened to hate and felt that this person simply did not deserve to own one of her CWs. Crazy! I can't really afford them either. That is why I keep selling older stuff to buy newer stuff lol.

Vader kitty will rule the world!!! Muwahahaha! I can understand when someone wants a personal item to be kept private. I just hate when there is so much drama surrounding it. I just toss my items into my shop and let everyone get what they want. A lot easier that way! I think I joined Wayward Squirrel, but I have no idea what is going on lol. "And, maybe, if someone complains that something is supposed to be private, find something else to buy" How would that work? Awe sounds so cute :D

Yeah and I mean, it's nice that people can create their own items for themselves or their friends or whoever. And some of the art is really good.

But at the end of the day, it's still just pixels on a game site. Some people just get way too crazy over online stuff. I also stay away from the CW forums myself, but occasionally that sort of thing dribbles over into feedback threads or news comments, which I usually do read.

Anyway though, I'm still really looking forward to Fireside and new items and everything. It'll be fun. :)

What a nice idea! I have no clue what could even be made. I guess that's a project for this weekend. I need to come up with a plan for Luminaire.

Back when I had a little extra money I loved coming up with ideas for my own CWs. It was a lot of fun and I knew I was never going to be "Subeta rich" because of it. I just had items made because I loved them :D I am looking forward to the fun too! I am anxious to see new food items!

- if I find that group again this year, I'll ping you to it. :-)

- great picture! :-)

Yes, less drama would be nice. Sounds like CWs can be very emotional (although I sort of understand if it's someone's artwork that they might have strong feelings about it). Still - there is a limit and all that commotion you're describing isn't a good thing at all.

If I were creative enough to make CWs, I would probably do the same thing you do. But I feel a need to respect other artists' choices. Although, one would certainly hope that a personal feud wouldn't be the reason for them.

You did join the Wayward Squirrel ping group, but apparently didn't join a team. We are done for this year (although there will be a shorter - mystery focused version soon). Basically it's a competitive team roleplay with an ongoing storyline that has been written for several years now. I joined last year so this was my second time participating. Each year writes a new chapter and the teams are given various challenges to meet - create HAs, solve puzzles, write their part of the roleplay, etc. She has a team of judges who score our efforts. When it's all over everyone gets prizes. (Although I always feel we should be giving prizes to and her judges instead of getting them.)

I was just thinking if you see that someone is saying a CW is private then don't buy that particular CW. If everyone not in the private group refused to buy them, then no one could sell them, which might help cut down on the drama. But maybe that's not feasible with how CWs work?

In any case, I hope that it all works out well this year and you and are able to enjoy the shop without too much drama happening.

Yeah I am very rarely just a regular human with a face. I prefer the zombie skins or other zombie overlay items. I think earlier this year around Vesnali I was using a regular HA with more face items, but I don't do it often.

I also really like this box, it's probably going to be a staple in my wardrobe now. :P

Thanks :D I can't resist Vader. Especially when he is a cute little kitty lol!

Yeah since I was unsure what was going on I didn't feel comfortable joining a team. I saw that it was winding down and would not feel right about jumping in at the last minute. Especially being so confused lol. It sounds like a lot of fun. I just stink at writing anything.

I try to avoid other boards. I normally just chat with all of you on this one. I really wouldn't know if any CW for sale is meant to be private. I am mostly talking about the pawn shop. If I see an item in there that I really really want I am going to jump on it! I would have no clue if it was ever private and probably would not have time to research it. I am an impulse shopper :D

- can't wait for you to post pictures of your new kitty. :-)

Yes, if you found Wayward Squirrel after we all got started on this round, then we were past the team building stage already. Before a round starts there is a team building phase and everyone who wants to play finds a team. and some of the experienced teams make sure that happens. Last time I joined the team of the person who got me to play in the first place. But this time I was on my own and we wound up on separate teams. That turns out to be a nice way to make new friends.

Please do not hesitate to join a team next time around (maybe even for the upcoming mystery). supplies plenty of background and links to old story line when needed. And the whole point of a team is that none of us is good at everything so we all work together. It's all for fun and enjoyment of the amazing writing. And everyone is awarded prizes when it's over, no one is ever left out. In fact there are three rounds of prizes and every participant has the opportunity to choose their first round prize before anyone - even the top team - starts on second round. So the competition is mostly for glory and isn't taken too seriously. It's really a lot of fun and I just love reading the story and finding out what happens next.

Nothing wrong with that. Sounds like a great way to enjoy your shopping and avoid any drama. :-)

Hopefully I can find one for Christmas :D I will deff post a few pics!

I will have to wait and see what life brings around that time. I would not want to join a team and then have to flake out because of rl :( that would suck.

I love the pawn shop! Just grab what I want and leave lol.

I guess I just find faces harder to make look right with the eyes and lips and all the layering and stuff. So I just use items or zombie skins that have their own faces already, less work for me. :P

Busy again, hope everyone's week is going well. :)

I think there'll be plenty going on for Fireside and Luminaire to distract you from battling.
Or maybe encourage you back if new challengers are released! Depends on what we get.

Oh my goodness, those ornaments are so cute! It's nice that you were able to find the set on ebay, it's so handy for replacing old stuff you once had - access to the attics of the world!

Thoroughly enjoying your recently posted gifs too. xD

I noticed that the pets have how far off the next battle tier displayed now - not sure it'll get me into battling much but interesting to know. Well done with your training, that should help with future battling.

You can get some scented candles and room sprays that are pine/Xmas tree scent - fun to confuse people with your fake tree up!

Thanks! I think it'll be the standard 4 weeks notice - which means I still have to work 2 weekends, but then no more. Huzzah!

Dandybunnies for the win! Or the Army at least.

My mum had real Xmas trees in childhood and banned them from the house as soon as she could. Resin/sap, needle drop off, outdoors bugs coming along for the ride - fake trees save the day.

The Alchemist offer is super sweet, I'll have a think.

I managed to get with the invite, so that was a good one!

When I was temping, it was mostly cleaning work, but that was really bad with my allergies. I wanted to get back into admin, so took a job doing that with poor hours, and then was super lucky to find another post with better hours!

It's helpful to have a wishlist check occasionally, to see if anything out of season or things like older battle items have come down in price.

Mysteries are fun, I am still a big Agatha Christie fan. My other half went to see the Dunkirk film and loved it. I'm not really into war based things, but he said it was quite inspirational.

Gaming with food is always to be recommended - just not on the same table unless you like food on the game pieces (we had that at one of our gatherings once - cheese nachos being the guilty foodstuff - much red faces and apologies!). We have got out of gaming due to my weird weekend hours, but once I am in the new job, I'll encourage the gamers to try a monthly meet up again.

Dandybunnies always They seem to wander by I scoop them up and save them With Army stock in mind!

shakes fist at Ice King events If they were Subq invites, I'd be rolling in them!

Oh, I had no idea you were missing from the Jawsome group, it is absolutely open to new Sharks, so please feel free to join in! HERE (And feel free not to as well, I am all for no drama! xD )

And as a heads-up, I hosted the Gifting Empty Trees board last year & I am prepping a message about that soon as I'll need some Group Admins to ping the group when I am away in December!

Anyone interested in that group, you're welcome to sign up HERE and feel free to invite friends.

Hey Hun hugs Sometimes I have to remind myself that I can search for old stuff on the net lol. I was so excited when I saw that I could get a Bianca too! No idea why I only had Bernard. I am pretty sure they were from McDonalds Happy Meals way back in the day. I figured they would cost a fortune. Thankfully they were pretty cheap :D I love funny gifs lol!

Looking forward to gifting some empty trees again this year. I am currently trying to build up my funds!

It is that weird feeling of "oh, I need old stuff but can only find it on the new technlogy"! Bringing back happy memories is always good.

Between ebay and charity/thrift shops I don't do badly for finding vintage bits - I was super happy to find a tea cup like my great aunt used to have - when she died a few years ago her tea things were all too badly damaged to keep.

I love the Empty tree project, I've taken part every year since I joined. It's so nice seeing so many people come together for a common cause.

Argh! Got Wizard buff when only 4/15 quests in. NEED FOR SPEED!
