My crack idea was that maybe the next weapon would be a weapon with "gold" in it because of the gold rose trinket. Was worth a shot in the end.
I think you got to the right answer the wrong way XD it's better to be lucky than good :)
I had to refresh because of 502 error but when I came back "Oh No! You're dead!" that really freaked me out Lol is that a normal thing for battles
yeah the 502s tend to mess with things in battling.
Haha, yeah. Glad I got lucky, though. This bloody troll was all I could think about.
I'm glad too that I got my 5 wins, I probably won't go for 10.
I won't, either. Not for a while anyway. I'll wait until a bunch of other people can get it before I even attempt.
I might if the exp was decent but it's just not rewarding other than to be a completionist.
time
thanks, you too if you do your bqs right away! :P
Congrats to everyone that's beaten it so far!
But is this really asking us to amass a pile of junk weapons when the site is obviously trying to downsize on our hoarding? That's the strategy?
Maaan, I was really hoping it would be more of a puzzle with clues and such, instead of RNG.
Kudos to whoever sorted out the coding for making the randomized item choices, though. That'll be fun to see implemented in future battles!
hoard in your armory, not in your shop! this is the lesson I think unless there is very subtle pattern going on. I was hoping for a riddle, trolls and riddles go hand in hand. I hope it is not implemented in future battles x-x
I don't know which is worse - trying (and failing) to find the item that works for me or filling my armory with all of this junk ;_;
I tried every single one of my tier 1 weapons and I think that was well over 50+ and I can't do it anymore I have no idea how you all stay motivated and do this all the time. Good on you :) I honestly just want the prizes and to move on to Vesnali Lol.
Subeta logic is... not actual logic.
Subeta: We are changing galleries and shops and also retiring specific achievements to discourage hoarding.
Subeta, right in the middle of all of these shifts: Let's make a battle opponent that requires users to accumulate and hoard as many of the 637 restockable weapons that they ordinarily wouldn't want stuffed into an already tiny spot on the site, in the hopes of defeating a really easy opponent. Because we're funny.
Having a bit of fun is all fine and dandy, but there were ways to make this interesting and fun without all of that.
- To me, a hoard's a hoard, wherever it is. Guess the hope is that since it's not accessed as frequently as shops, it won't be an issue? /shrug. Timing of the thing is still weird as heck.
Also, when I say I hope to see the randomized stuff implemented, I'm hoping they'll limit it in the future. Every r1-99 weapon seems like too big a pool (with sharks and lasers. lasersharks).
Definitely agree. Moving stuff in and out of your armory isn't the most userfriendly thing to do. I really think a riddle would have done wonders, put it in his battle text. It wouldn't be different for everyone though and would require more work, but I think it would have played better.
Sharks with fricken laser beams???
Yeah it could be a more narrow pool but so far we know of three people with different items that have worked. So that's all I can narrow it down to so far.
Hoard in your armory and not your shop is a joke :p they're trying to confuse us.
My take away from this is just to sit back and save to buy the 1 item I want from the troll's defeat (the cobblestone for Devotion's TC), rather than bother with the battling part. Definitely not for me. (And usually I'm okay with that, but... /gestures at all of this??)
The timing really feels like a big F U to players.
And I'm... to be frank I'm kind of more than a little put off by the whole "lets discourage hoarding by having users downgrade and shift to the new stuff because hoarding is causing the site to break" but then /gestures again at all of this.
I sincerely appreciate the folks on here who have way more patience than me for these shenanigans and are so busily figuring out the particulars though.
[edit] Definitely would've preferred some riddle to figure out.

Haha, soon enough :)
And yeah, I get why people are annoyed at the hoarding thing. I think just try what's in your armory first, and don't limit yourself to t1 weapons. Or wait until something that is in your armory happens to be the weapon.
