Well, I am about to fall behind on my word count. Have had a busy day and still have stuff to do before I can really settle in to writing mode.

What I am working on for Camp NaNo isn't that different.

I'm currently working on my alien story line, making notes on the characters and the relevant cultures. It is my oldest story line and I wanted to finish it first but I am being to realize that it is an impossible task. There is just a massive amount of information that is crucial to my story line and I want to take my time with it to try to get the balance of action and information correct. When/if I finish the overview for this story (or when I need a break from the insanity of alien-world-building), I'll be moving on the next project that needs my attention and doing basically the same thing, though I think it will be on a much smaller scale since it's not as.... well... alien. XD

Notes... Profiles... Summaries... I've taken to calling them synopses, since that's fairly accurate... Whatever you want to call what I am writing, it's not the actual story, just the information I need for the content. But it is stuff that needs writing. -nods-

- hahaha you're behind :P My word count is 0. But, i got my laptop back today, and the rash that I had is not just large clusters of blisters. They still itch, but not as much, and I feel like I can itch them a bit now without making it way worse.

- That's mostly what I'm [going to be] working on for Camp, backstories and mini side stories. Mostly for RP characters, but hopefully I'll get time for some of my subeta pets/characters as well :)

I am glad to hear that things are starting to sort themselves out. I'm not worried about you yet, but you better get to work soon or you'll never catch up. -stifles laughter- Nah, I think you'll do alright.

I'm struggling to not get distracted right now because I was going through my movies so I can list inspirations and now I want to watch some of my movies. I've told myself I should get caught back up before I let myself get behind again, but ugh... so tempting. So we shall see. LOL

[edit] Well, I'm struggling write right now (little over 1000 words behind) because I'm combining notes and elaborating and... trying to organize it all is not fun. Plus, no one seems to understand that I need to be left alone if I am going to get anything done. -growls-

God, I know that feeling. I'm, like, 5k words behind because I had finals over the weekend and people won't stop pestering me. :(

Not doing too badly. Behind in my writing (as usual) so I'm trying to get up to at least the number of words I have to write to finish on time. Not going too well, but I think I can do it. :D

Behind as well, but still happy! I decided to use the fanfic series I've been writing for the past couple months (I haven't written real, serious fanfic in years but oh man, it's been so much fun and it feels actually really good doing it!) and I've gotten through the rest of the chapter I had started in June but was having trouble with, and now I have finally moved on to the next chapter. Just being able to finish the chapter that had me so hung up for so long is amazing and I'm stoked to keep going.

I mean, I'm still off my par word count by about 600 words (only a 10k goal because July is always super busy for me) but the progress I've actually made far outweighs the word count goal for me!

How're you doing? Having fun at least? ^^

Ahhhh nice nice. :D I'm doing a short story that's basically the main character retelling the chain of events that landed her in prison. First-person PoV and she's an average writer so when I'm actually able to work on it, it's actually going fairly well. :)

I'm off my par by about.... 5k words? Went with a 30,000 word count because I wanted to torture myself and I figure I'd be able to do more short stories to go along with this one if it ended up not long enough (which it shouldn't, because I'm pretty sure most short stories are 10k or less...?)

I'm just glad I'm having fun, tbh. This is a much-needed visit to the character's backstory since I use her for roleplays/LARPing and her backstory needed some work, so to be making progress on that front is fantastic. ;u;

And when I'm done, I can post it to the group's Wiki to share with the others. After some editing, of course. Not much, though, since the character's a fairly average writer so it's mostly just a hunt for typos and common grammatical errors. -u-

Oh, that's awesome! I'm sure if you throw yourself into it you'll make up that 5k in no time ^^ (says the guy who's only behind by 600 and doubts that catch-up will really happen...)

It's rad that you're going into depth with your RP character! Having all that stuff hammered out and put down on paper might help you with your frame of reference when you're playing her. And especially with LARP I can see where having more and more set information would be really useful.

(Me? I'm just writing silly, self-indulgent Dragon Age fanfic because I'm fantrash and I love it.)

Hope so. My parents keep getting mad that I'm holing myself up in my room to write and drag me away from it whenever they can, but I can't exactly move my laptop down into the living room because the screen doesn't work so it's hooked up to my monitor so their keeping me from my room is cutting into my writing. :x

Thanks! It really does. I already have the general gist of her backstory laid out (and up for people to read), but I wanted something that didn't read like a Wikipedia article, too.

Oh no, I am very happy to be fantrash XD It's somehow ended up being more of a term of endearment, almost.

Sucks about your parents, though. I was lucky that before I moved out my parents were pretty chill about my writing (though my mom always asked to read it and would get upset when I told her no) and whenever I talk to my mom she will usually ask if I'm still writing. Hopefully eventually they will learn that it's a part of your life and hell, writing is a fantastic (life eater) hobby that serves you well into adulthood! And there's always "Mom, Dad, if you want me out here to Spend Time With The Family then I need a new laptop"... lol

My mother's kinda ambivalent about it? It's mostly my dad and then my mother sorta backs him up. Biggest problem there is that my dad is thoroughly convinced that I'm lying to cover up an internet addiction I don't actually have. :x

I'm hoping to get outta here within the next few years since I'm (hopefully) graduating from college in August and really should get a place of my own.

Yep! Thanks! I'm technically graduating a few months late, but hey. So long as I passed everything (and I should be getting at least B's in them given the grades I've been getting back) and nothing new sneaks up on me, I should pass the degree audit and be free. ;u;
