yes and no. lol I still am hit and miss....but way more misses now that is for sure. I think I depend too much on freezing him and my scrolls don't always co-operate. I was shocked to see the 7.9K exp...I was like woah!! That so helped today. Almost at 5K health too..super close!

Do you use RoE? I love using that against Prod. Specially if you freeze him and RoE keeps chain freezing him.

The new weapon is a treat for creative builders that focus on their pet's defense.

However, it's probably something that would benefit few pets now, and certain pets in the longer term because higher defense hasn't been really popular. Offense has been considered better than defense for battle strategists, because a defensive move that doesn't block anything is considered an opportunity loss when the effort could be made for offense and finish the opponent before they finish you first or become way too hard to beat (from boosting).

It's going to require some momentum to shift people from building str or even pets to def or speed oriented ones, and some people who spent lots of time and effort already capping or building a main pet is going probably going to to shrug, unless the cap is raised enough to let them enough room to readjust or everyone's given a chance to rebank and respend their pet's exp. And with easily obtainable boosters that boost evenly (tomes) and the lack of awareness from newcomers, they aren't going to really know or care why they should be creative with their build until much later.

In my opinion, an interesting idea that's going to take more incentive and awareness to adopt.

In any case, i'm just happy to have a new challenger! So it sounds like it's gonna be a every 3 months thing like the birds? Or is it monthly?

Well, it sounds like I'll be bulking up Vash's def, along with Haluk's at least. They can have it. I dunno, currently I'm planning on El's final def being 5k def. UNLESS THERE'S A CAP RAISE.

Would be nice but there's 8 elements (well 10 if you count wind and ice) So we can have 10 challengers... If they go down that road. The /Mage/ mentioned in the news post about Elemental challengers so if we go by his wording... maybe just maybe.... we could possibly get 2 new mage amulets as well? LOL probably not. Can dream though.

Sorry I often forget now everyone knows them, many apologies. And I know how you feel, sometimes it won't work at all... other times it's amazing to chain freeze him to near death then kill him next turn. Either way just a little helpful hint if you ever wanna try it. Best wishes!

I like the idea in theory of weapons to facilitate different builds, but I don't think they've been practically implemented thus far. The bonuses need to be way bigger to make them worthwhile imo - you're gimping yourself with all other weapons, where strength is king - for a couple of weapons with niche uses. They need to be more universal. A magma, fire and earth block is not universal. And of course there's boss battles - where we're encouraged to deal as much damage as possible in a short time span. Defensive builds will never stack up.

Oh I can only hope we finally get wind and ice amulets. But that's only 10...hmm. We'd need another two new elements to make it twelve.

What else could be introduced? Dragon? Fairy? Steel? Poison? xP

- Oh good, on a day that I work and thus probably won't have time to do my quests lol.

- As far as I am aware, such a thing does not exist. There are some decent chance freezers that don't take the freezing slot like the Rapier of Error, but not really any single use weapons. Rainbow vortex has a decent chance to freeze (but it never does when you need it to!) There's also Glaciating Pylonics I'm not sure what the % on those is supposed to be, but they also never freeze when you need them to. :P I think one of the vials that the gelatins drop has a relatively high freezing chance too, but I have no idea which one.

thanks for the advice...I would buy more shriek/psycho scrolls but there are none out there and I have a feeling they are hard to come by XD Im just having a hell of a time with Sophie trying to get that 5th win, and Im high tier 11 (almost 12) its crazy!

There may be fewer than 10 or twelve challengers and they wouldn't have be released monthly. They could be released every five or 6 weeks, maybe more -- depending upon how many there are. They also needn't be released at a steady rate. They could be strategically released between events or even in concert with regular holidays. Maybe it will be part of a year-long plot… That wold be amazing!
