Hell I don't care what stats my pets have either, so long as they are good enough to beat things up :P

It must have to be more of a difference then what any of mine have. I have one that has 100 more def than str, but that must not be enough. All I know is...I got all lost when it comes to battle talk.

idk what tier your pets are, but my T11 has had no trouble scoring wins -- we're on our 10th battle now. He didn't even have to heal between most battles.
My point is that his starts are still pretty even since we're nowhere near the cap. It seems like he should be tougher, but he's even easier than Gatekeeper.

So okay I have a question, if you want us to start building different pets but the stat cap makes it impossible to build an overly defensive pet and make any sort of progress on any of the endgame opponents, what are we supposed to do?

Like, I'm planning on making different stated pets, but mostly they're going to be my littles, and it's gong to be more because after training up 4 or 5 pets with more "ideal" builds, I find the idea of having a 6k defense pet amusing, and it goes with character, but that's not strategic battle-wise, and I don't expect this pet to become a battle master. I mean, if I could train past the stat cap then heck yes I'd have a battle pet with ludicrous defense because eventually I'd just build it up to like, 12k defense, 6k of everything else (obviously just throwing out numbers), but making a defense or speed based pet in this current situation seems like just a thing to do with pets after you've built "Subeta strategy" pets.

I can't really imagine the new weapon having much of an effect on the endgame unless the defense version is super amazing or something. I guess I can boost John's defense above 2000 to see if it changes anything once I get the time to fight him and test the weapon out.

Man, I liked slamming that Slag around. What a lovely Slag to pummel. A wonderful little Slag to wrestle with. Really wrecked that poor Slag. I imagine it would be a very wet Slag, though. All those hot fluids oozing everywhere.

Come to think of it, considering that slag apparently means stone-like waste matter left behind after a metal is harvested from an ore (at least Google says so) and Slaglord appears to be infused with lava, do you think maybe he is the father of Forj's children? That could explain a lot (and possibly even justify its British slang usage).

That is actually a fun theory, though I doubt Subeta would have thought that far into it. It seems a lot like the Titans, or Titan-inspired elemental opponents. One-off things as they've been doing for the last two years. But honestly, that could make for a nice sub-plot.
