So this weapon only doubly favors higher weighted defense builds? That's kind of disappointing considering many people already built their pets with biased strength or evenly, and doesn't seem to get any positive tradeoff from this weapon.

What kind of T8 (or T9 and T10) pet would have defense 950 higher than strength? Unless it's a very uneven build? And then past T10 there are better favored weapons out there.

Is the new challenger broken or something? it was too easy! no challenge, nothing.. And I'm like the worst battler here with a T11 pet, I was expecting to struggle for few days until the 5th win lol

It's a hard hitting offensive challenger instead of a defensive, healing, or magic opponent. Kind of like a harder Recycle Beast. Should be more of a challenge for pets under T10, until then the heavy fire and magma blocking weapons makes it a simple but long fight. Besides, its weapon dropped is T8.

You're welcome Until research is complete on it, I can't exactly say. It looks like it's between both weapons, and the attacking and defending icon types only slightly overlap. Given the current info, I would say it doesn't block enough or heal to be useful against the impossible challengers who will plow through its defense easily.

Perfect 10 wins against him with El. Only put El in the red once, but came back with PQuill and axed Slag.

29k from the new opponent and 19,994 exp from the BQs... I was really surrpriced since I got so many low opponents :D :D :D

I love the design of the new challenger and the loot but... the weapon seems to be junk. The blocks could be cool against Forj - if it dealt any water. Lack of heal sucks.

@ Rocketlauncher The idea of these new weapons is to 1. encourage players to try different builds and 2. to make those builds viable. It's not something that can happen with 2 or 3 weapon releases unless they were obviously brokenly overpowered, it's something that has to be a trend to encourage not a standard to set. And I really rather like the idea and hope it continues, as I will certainly be making some rather unique builds now and in the future. Also I can tell you that a T9 pet with 1k more def than strength is EXTREMELY viable even without the new weapons.

47 icons of attack unmodded is pretty beast for a T9 and is exactly the sort of weapon to make a high defense build viable, especially with a low-mid icon def spread out over 3 types. This will likely replace Deadwood Scissorbeak in my t9 set, though it makes it a bit of a hassle to do prodigy/maleria with my main pet, since for him it's basically utter trash -.- we need pet or tier or opponent bound sets already.

I think once my littles hit 1k evens I'll pick a few to crazy train one stat over all the others. Makes me glad I'm training a lot of pets, I can get weird with some of them without it really affecting my battle career. Even if some of them end up totally useless it won't matter.

Not that I've even decided on a final build for my main battler... But my littles are only T6 anyway, I have lots of time to pick the victims.
