"Oh, we will find it out together.... or not. It's a game!" Idaho and got really excited, this was so much fun! They just murmured above the red laced cards, and finally Idaho pointed on one of them. "I think I know this one, come on!" She took Szarwas's hands, and they rushed out from the room... withouth noticing, if anybody followed them, or not. (Anybody, who'd like to, can join us :) )

SPOILER (click to toggle) "I'm sure this will be the Wine Cellar, it must be amazing. Mmmm, I love the smell of wine casks."
Some of me is older than any man, and though I age well, I clearly show it.

They've spent some time there, checking the cellar, and talking about the riddles. Finally Idaho said "I would really like some fresh air. We should go out and check the Patio, what do you think?"

Riddle for Patio I loom outside places most private, and within me you'll find things most intimate, I'll hold a flame for you, and then I'll collect the ashes when you are spent.

Idaho took deep breath outside, before searching throught the place. "I like places like these. So mysterious, don't you think? But now where to go? This card troubles me..." She pointed on one of the cards. "Awake with me? What do you do, when you get awake? I'm not sure..."

I'm so happy we can work together on this said Szarwas when they finished discussing the riddles. She rushed after Idaho happily. She looked back for a second, maybe someone wants to join them, but then she thought they can catch up to them at the rooms and never turned back again.

SPOILER (click to toggle) Szarwas looked at the card Idaho pointed to. Hm. Well, personally my first thing is to have some food... Oh.She thought for a second - Break-fast?! It might be that! ... And to be honest I'm a bit hungry... maybe we can get some snack before dinner?
You awake with me, and you must break me. But unlike a bone, you'll be stronger for it.
They spent some time here, while Szarwas constantly tried to find something to eat... then they decided to move on.

Szarwas grabbed Idaho I think I know which riddle leads to the Conservatory. You know how much I love these places... so many exotic and interesting plants! Szarwas smiled and stared far-far away ahead of herself... then suddenly rushed towards the Conservatory Let's hurry, we want to get there before dinner, right?

Riddle for Conservatory I feed armies, I heal soldiers, I ink pages, and I murder.
Szarwas rushed around, trying to identify the plants, but she failed more than she would loved to admit. But then they looked at the clock and decided to move on, maybe one more place would fit in... Since they both loved books, the last logical decision was the Library.

Riddle for Library Of battles bloody, of kingdoms long, of things that are much far gone. Of rules which every man speaks; I hold them all within my chest, bound in skin and cased in flesh. Even the brightest man only knows a tenth of what I know best.
As both Idaho and Szarwas was a bit tired by this time, they admired the place silently
[edit] Please ignore my outfit, I forgot to post the masquerade one and now can't add it :C

I would say we should go and visit these rooms:

SPOILER (click to toggle)

Rox picked up a card and showed it too sassy. I'm guessing this is a reference to the billiard room: "Four legs have I, a sturdy fellow. A fuzzy back that isn't yellow. But (often) green or (rarely) red. A den is where I make my bed. My keepers feed me colored balls. With sticks they store on my den walls".

After that we might go to the library. Rox showed another card: "Of battles bloody, of kingdoms long, of things that are much far gone. Of rules which every man speaks; I hold them all within my chest, bound in skin and cased in flesh. Even the brightest man only knows a tenth of what I know best.".

The breakfast nook is the next place we could go: "You awake with me, and you must break me. But unlike a bone, you'll be stronger for it.".

Then we should definitely go to the basement, wine cellar, boiler room "Some of me is older than any man, and though I age well, I clearly show it.".

And the last place we could go and check is the guest wing "If you stay, you'll come to meet me. But no matter how long you linger, you shall never call me home. ".

So, I have to first issue a quick apology to everyone. The holidays ended up proving more problematic than I had initially anticipated, with some other issues here and there. I wasn't able to fully master CYS, even after the drama of using it was sorted out. After that, I was discouraged and got into videogames. If the chance arises, I will still likely be sending out completed versions of the maze and scavenger hunt, since some systems were in place to potentially be rewarded or corrupted in those respective locations, and I wouldn't mind giving some stuff out. Especially now, all things considered.

That being said, I will likely not continue this branch of the plot. I have other responsibilities that I've been putting off. This has taught me a valuable lesson, in that should I do something like this, I should not be so ambitious, and preferably have it all fully written before hand.

But I also didn't want to leave the story there, so I'm going to give a summarization for anyone still interested in Immsmore.

THOSE CONVERSING WITH THE GUESTS

 • You would have had the option to speak with three different groups of people, and ask them about the party, the Living Gallery, the other guests, and the host.
 • It would be exposited that the Living Gallery was rather "delightful" and "delicious" and that the artist had such "appropriate taste".
 • Malcolm would be said to be a "reluctant" host, but still an abiding one.
 • Some of the other guests would be said to have been "just like" those invited. But that they decided to stay and proved eager to please.
 • As with everything else in the party, these words would seem less than entirely truthful, and off-putting.
 • Anyone that would check on the entrance would find a doorman preventing them from passing.

THOSE DOING THE SCAVENGER HUNT

 • Those following the black cards would (eventually, with proper searching) find five fragments of something dark, with a smooth exterior.
 • Those following the white cards would find small valuables stashed throughout.
 • Those that broke away from the main group to explore restricted areas would find the main study. There they could potentially be discovered and either forcibly turned to work for the enemy, or die.
 • In the study they would find letters from Malcolm and journals. Malcolm, it seemed, had been approached by "them" a little over a year ago. He was to be a spokesperson to lure more people, and in exchange would receive wealth and power as "their" numbers swelled.
 • "They" seemed to come about a little over a year ago en masse, after a disturbance in the village of Immsmore proper. A foreign woman and the town's inn disappeared. Curiously, just as many as were exhibits in the gallery.
 • He expresses discomfort that they've placed those that weren't cooperative in stasis. Fully aware, but unable to move, paralyzed. Still, he complies, and even finds it amusing and brilliant, in a horrible way, that "they" wanted those captured to appear as exhibits for new guests.
 • His sister, Melisande, seemed reluctant to join at first, but otherwise seems cooperative.
 • His journal also speaks of fragments of "the sphere", an object which "they" were unable to destroy entirely.
 • If anyone got all four pieces of the sphere, Melisande would show up and converse with the individual, claiming that she was a friend. Of course, she would seem suspicious, especially considering that they wouldn't yet have the knowledge from the study about her base reluctance. Assuming, of course, that she genuinely was cooperative.
 • Those that went into too many false rooms without the correct answer would start to become corrupted. (tbc)

THOSE IN THE MAZE

 • The maze would be a dangerous place of illusion, where it would be impossible to separate reality from imagination.
 • Each time that an individual found a dead end, the maze would seem to swallow them for a moment, and they would return, different from before.
 • After four instances of dead ends total, the maze would either prove to be the metal death of a person, or corrupt them to work with "them." (As happened with Queryla, who was going to be a secret traitor. Yes, there were going to be secret traitors to screw over the end game. ;D)
 • Once, or if a person reached the center of the maze, they would be plunged back into the mansion. There they would find it was already after dinner and Malcolm was offering them party favors. There would also be a brilliant, but muted light glowing in the distance.
 • If someone approached the light, their mind would be consumed.
 • If someone took the party favors, they would become a secret traitor, working for "them" and receive goodies in the process.
 • If someone resisted three times, the illusion would fade away, revealing the center of the maze. The entrances in are sealed, but two different passages lead out.
 • After potentially successfully beating the maze, they would find their corvid guide gone, and work their way back into the house.

MEETING BACK UP

 • The masquerade contest would be held, winner would receive something.
 • Shortly thereafter, the winner would find a note amongst the party favors, urging the winner to gather the five pieces of the sphere. One was found in the satchel of the Harlequin Jester in the Living Gallery.
 • If the winner was a secret traitor, they could present the note to Malcolm, who would summarily deal with his sister.
 • Sphere can still be gathered whether people were told by Melisande or not. All fragments obviously belong to the same thing.
 • Sphere fits together seamlessly.
 • Obvious doors would be barred, and Malcolm would reveal intent of feeding those invited to the other guests. The other guests' form would shift, revealing amorphous beings of solid black, whose very shape seems to drive humans mad.
 • Guests could escape through windows. Melisande (before potentially dying at brother's hand, or else escaping with those invited), would explain that they needed to run to a forest in the ruin.
 • Secret traitors could follow after, and would have numerous opportunities to attack their brethren, either while running, or when the group stopped.
 • Group would run for a while, and the forest beyond the estate would press upon them, shadows being thick, difficult to tell if they were of the forest or the beings chasing them.
 • If number of traitors/corrupted exceeded those uncorrupted, traitors would win.
 • Once in the ruins, the sphere could be placed on a pedestal.
 • Once on the pedestal, the magic would work. Shadows would loom just beyond a small circumference until dawn.
 • Shadows would not be banished completely, but confined to a much smaller area (Immsmore proper), with their powers reduced, rather than being able to venture freely with full power.
 • Winning side would receive goodies.

I am willing to answer any questions people have. Just ping me.

Can we get the answers to the riddles? I'm really not good with them, and it took us a little thinking with to solve them. I would love to know if were right or not. (However she is not around now and probably won't show up for a while, she is busy with real life)

I didn't mention anyone in vines. XD I mentioned paralyzed people because the people in the gallery were paralyzed, so I was going by what I allegedly knew. ;)

Yes! I'll post them here in a bit.

Thank you! I'm sorry I wasn't able to finish it.

...and then everyone woke up at home, with the sun shining on their faces xD WAS IT JUST A DREAM? -brand new paper over the table bring the news about strange happenings in a town named Immsmore- DUN DUN DUN 2015 PLOT SEQUEL. 8D

the silly bit TONIGHT, AT THE IMMSMORE BALL

LOL xD WTH THO. Jumping through windows and running across woods HOW ABOUT MY POOR BRAND NEW HEELS?!? WTH GUYS how about we run out in a more comfortable way, preferably involving a car and/or teleportation

ALSO I FEEL SO SAD WE DON'T GET TO WATCH QUERYLA WANDER DRUNK ACROSS THE MAZE AND THEN DIE IN SOME SILLY WAY

the not-so-silly bit ...wait, so there were 5 pieces of the sphere, then. BUT FORGET THE SPHERE FOR A MINUTE. WHO WAS THE 2013 WOMAN (the one who knocked on your door asking for help) AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HER -ahem-

Back to the sphere! "Those following the black cards would (eventually, with proper searching) find five fragments of something dark, with a smooth exterior." Was that the sphere? xD

"If anyone got all four pieces of the sphere, Melisande would show up and converse with the individual" ...but wasn't it fiveee

"- Shortly thereafter, the winner would find a note amongst the party favors, urging the winner to gather the five pieces of the sphere. One was found in the satchel of the Harlequin Jester in the Living Gallery." ...or maybe the sphere fragments were hidden in the house all the time? xD

Idk if the sphere bits were meant to be found regardless of the way you went, which makes sense under the "choose your story" assumption, considering all of the first three choices would still allow you to somehow reach the happy ending on your own. For the Subeta format (where everyone shares it on a thread xD), though, I think it'd be nice to follow a plot line in which every "team" (or rather, the survivors of every team) would share the informations/items they got with each other** and those who manage to stay uncorrupted would try to work together on escaping ^-^ As in, maybe people who scavenged would find two pieces + the journal + chat with Melisande, maybe people on the maze would find two pieces at the very end, and people inside the house would've found the one satchel piece + that sunrise deadline note. I'm not too sure how that would work, though.

**not with the other people in the ball, though, but I suppose that could be interesting for setting up traps! EVIL CORRUPTED SPIES.

This was the first anon plot I've been a part of in which people were supposed to die! I FIND IT AMUSING 8D I can't remember if killed anyone in her plot, but I don't think so, haha she's too nice. I love the concept, I just think (been thinking it since earlier on the plot :c ) that it would require a few more people participating, to account for the ones that would die or get corrupted (without those it wouldn't be fun right?? xD). And then maybe the dead people could still help out with puzzles (in case the survivors may not have much free time, or not speak English too well, etc), but if not, they'd at least follow the story, which was great, via updates posted by others on the thread ^-^

Because of the size of the plot and the amount of people involved, I absolutely think an offsite area is needed, so that was a good call xD Even if we can't click and it's text only... it's insane to keep formatting and sending long chunks of text via giftboxes. Maybe breaking the story in different links (where people must make choices) and sending them boxes with the choices (first box) and link for all sequences (second box, so they won't cheat, but can still read the different outcomes) could work...

I'm sorry if this reads badly (I swear I'm not trying to nitpick it ahaha I FAIL), I just get carried away in thoughts way too often n_n

This was a huge amount of effort, from the ball invitation images to the intricate story details! It was the most elaborate plot story I've followed on anonymous mode, and it was a joy <3 Thank you very much for putting so much thought and care into it! Your updates were very nicely written and made us all anxious to find out what would come next c;

...by the way, WHY WERE OUR INVITATION SEALS BROKEN õ_o?

SNEAKY YOU playing your own plot! :P

Thank you for the lovely story (and the endings!), though ❤️

Feel free to skip the above spoilers because I talk too much ahaha, but I still must ask: WHO WAS THE 2013 WOMAN AND WHAT HAPPENED TO HER? xD

For some reason I cannot dig up the file with all the riddles! If you send me the riddles and available rooms here, I can answer all of them for you.

I've seem to lost a lot of my notes relating to the number of sphere fragments. There were as many as there were black cards + one in the Living Gallery. I believe that there were four black cards, meaning that once you found all four, Melisande would appear, with the fifth still being in the Living Gallery and requiring those that stayed behind to give their piece over to assemble the sphere. Thus requiring cooperation between two teams.

As to the 2013 Woman, she was turned into the Harlequin Jester, and, as a cruel joke, has maintained more awareness than the other models. After "they" shattered the sphere after wresting it from her, they captured her and those in the inn.

Indeed, the sphere fragments were hidden inside the house, as "they" were unable to completely destroy the sphere and would not have wanted anyone the chance to get the fragments. The house was a safeguard measure, with Melisande trying to tip off the party guests so they could assemble it, since she didn't think she could do it on her own. Partly because she is being watched, and partly because she didn't think she could get it and run to the pedestal in the forest before they caught up with her.

The people in the maze would not have gotten a fragment piece, but would have had access to wishlist items. They also had a greater chance of being corrupted and being the secret traitors, thus potentially rewarding them with more nice things and having their own storyline. If they made it back and resisted, they would have some insight that others would not have had about "their" capability with illusions, which may have proved useful during the forest adventure.

The dead people wouldn't have counted for one side or the other during the final count. Only corrupted vs. living uncorrupted, that way the numbers could be tight. That was some of the reason that the Living Gallery and speaking with the guests had relatively low risk and low reward, but still offered insight, whereas the Scavenger hunt had less reward in terms of wishlist items, but offered a ton of insight. That way if you did get anyone corrupted/caught/killed, (which was a low chance in the scavenger hunt compared to maze), it would hopefully make for a relatively even total of corrupted vs. not, or favor the non corrupted side.

The seals were broken by Melisande. While most of "them" resided around the castle and used it as a means to corrupt more through parties and the like, some had ventured beyond the Immsmore area. Malcolm had correspondence with them at regular intervals, as well as a few others that were faithful to "them". She was tasked with mailing the letters out, and was concerned as to whether or not he was planning things in league with those outside of Immsmore and the like. She checked every one to ensure that they were all the same invitations.

I hope that explains everything. XD

EDIT: ALSO, thank you for whoever sent me that beautiful CW item! it's been on my wishlist forever. I have a few suspicions about who it is, but for fear of being wrong, I won't voice them. Thank you so much!
