It's... interesting? I like the idea I was running with for it. Steampunk mermaids are by far the coolest thing that's come out of my head in my life so far.

- Steampunk mermaids sounds epic. Do they use electricity from electric eels?

Bioluminescence! Though yes there are researchers attempting to figure out how to convert electric eels into batteries.

Yeah! Mostly I just wanted to play with technicolor mermaids who were based on real fish types (as well as other sea creatures). So like a shark mermaid with sharp teeth and scary white eyes and gray skin, or a clownfish with white hair and stripes... I just love how many possibilities there are. Hnnnng.

If I can't get book three of the ground, I intend to pull book 2 out and continue where I left off. It's still the same series, and if I can just keep myself writing all month, that's what I really want.

- Yup fish are pretty awesome, so much diversity! Sounds like a good plan. I intend to continue working on my novel from last year, and then if I get stuck, pull out my other one from two years ago and continue working on that.

Good luck everyone! I'll be getting started here in a bit on my novel :)

- unprepared is an understatement. I was supposed to read over the beginning of my novel to get an idea of what I'm doing and where I'm going now, and nope. Just gonna wing it!

I'm kinda cheating a little bit this year. I have a story that I've been trying to write for literally years. I had a decent three chapters to start out with from an old computer and I've been spending the past week refining the story therein, as well as editing. I did write a fourth chapter, but I had also completely gotten rid of one of the ones that was the original Chapter Four. It didn't fit. It introduced the protagonists, because I thought that I needed a hero, but now that, for a lack of better words, my life has kind of gone to shit. There are no heroes, there are stronger people, but there are no heroes. There is also no karma, which destroyed me. Evil people aren't punished, they don't care about what they do to others.

And so my life is playing a major role in the shaping of this year's story.

Long rant is long and potentially annoying and sorry about that. I just want to accomplish something, for goodness sake!
