I kind of know the feeling. I'm still behind from a roadtrip I took recently (I wrote by hand while away but didn't get as much done as needed per day) and they're going to have me working more hours the week of Black Friday, what with sales and holiday shopping chaos. Gah!
Even if we don't make it to 50k, we still have the beginnings of a novel that we can complete later on.
I don't get up too early. I stay up too late. XD
I think you are doing well to just be making the attempt! I would say write as much as you can and don't worry overly about that 50k. NaNo has never been an endpoint for the serious writers who participate anyway. (Not with all the editing that invariably needs to be done after a first draft). If you have a story you want to write, then do it. Even if it takes you two months instead of one... Or 6 months... Or a year.
I'm certainly not going to stop working on my projects when November is over... In fact, I am hoping to get more done in the coming months than I will this month.
Lol, oh yeah. My novel's a pasted together mishmash of things I wrote on the computer, things I wrote on my phone, and things I hand wrote and then typed up. There are plenty of weak areas and things I know I need to fix later, but for now all that matters is getting the foundation down.
- everything always seems to happen in november :(
- yeah, I didn't get much writing done on my trip either. Also far behind here. Hoping to catch up a bit today!
- Ah yeah, the holiday releases. I forgot that the new pokemon game comes out this week until a friend reminded me! That doesn't bode well for the weekend productivity! I also have to finish my costume for the convention the saturday after that! Have tomorrow off, going to aim for an 7.5k day tomorrow, get myself a bit ahead so that I can work on other stuff! Of course, 7.5k in one day only puts me ahead if I get my 2k today. Yesterday I only got writing done in the morning. Apparently our halfway party is today, not yesterday, so last night I got pulled out with my dad to run errands instead. :(
Yup, traveling and writing don't go so well together, at least not with a defined word count goal. xD Oh well!
Like said - I was just up late XD I'm US West Coast so 3 hours behind Subeta time.
Why do they have to release games in November? Jerks. They just want to make the writers suffer XD
I'm home tonight and it's ungodly cold and I cannot even begin to make myself focus on writing x_x , anyone?
Ack, sorry, was in the kitchen. You know it's cold when you buy frozen food so you have a legitimate reason to turn on the oven...
:45?
- Either of you still around? Just got back from our writing event, got a bunch of writing done, I'm feeling in the zone! Need to write more.
How about :50? :P
Oh hey, you are here too! Join us? ^^
Opps, missed it, I'll join you for the next one!
Only 284 for me. Gotta get back into the rhythm of this chapter! Though it will be ending very soon...
I'm sorry you missed that window! We should all go again :)
602! ^^ But I am basically just going down some questionnaire stuffs to flesh things out so that's increasing my speed by a ton, lol. Prompts help so much with getting back into things though.
:15 sound good for the next?
:15 sounds good for me (I was busy trying to finish up my bonus wizard quests before the day rolled over!
Oh, smart! I totally forgot about wizard being WQ. My token vault would have appreciated that. OH WELL. Glad you at least got some goodies out of him, lol.
Been sitting here trying to convince myself to keep working on my writing (which has been slow go tonight since I had some research I needed to do) instead of watching a movie... Or three. LOL
While I do have other things I could be working on, I think I am going to work on the not-particularly-wordy but fun-and-helpful beat sheets. It's especially exciting because I think a couple of my stories are going to have some pretty significant changes at this point. I've realized that the two stories basically saying the same thing with different characters so I need to figure out what needs to stay for both and what doesn't and go from there...
Using the strike-through option for now so I can still see the text but I can also see it clearly isn't something I plan to use. Had forgotten about it until I went to customize Scrivener's toolbar.
Just FYI... and XD
367 this go - finished a chapter and started up the next! Surprisingly, I figured out exactly where this chapter is going and I might actually be able to keep up some decent momentum for the moment!
I'm glad you've been able to identify things in your stories to revise and adjust as necessary :D It sounds like you're making progress, no matter what the word count bars say!
