Oooh yeah, what did you think of your first Elwood Day gift? :P Slightly inappropriate, silly and fun! :P
Hmm copy/paste isn't working ... I am having to use control/v to paste. Weird. Whatever. Glad I know the tricks.
Hahah nice of Mieke!! I'll have to check and see where I am at with Vesnali coins and books to buy from Esther for my new pets. But when the shop opens for this years items, I will get those first!! Stickers, plushies, beanbags and then anything for my treasures or wardrobe I want (which usually isn't much!) ....then I will get back to the books.
I like the Emotional Support Monkey! It's cute, and who amongst us doesn't need a hug these days... hah. I don't know that I'll ever use it in an actual outfit but it has wandered into the wardrobe for now, and maybe after I get a full wardrobe I will put it into my gallery of silly Subeta items I like :D
That makes sense to focus on this year first, I'm sure you're caught up on previous years. And all the Vesnali stuff is so cute!!
Vesnali is one of my favorite holidays here, I love the flowers, I love the pastels and items.. it's just so good!
Also I'm like 99 percent sure the last two weeks have been at least a month long, so thank goodness for a four day weekend!
We've REALLY got to clean tomorrow though.. and still find the eggs.
And make a cake.. and maybe a cheesecake.. and boil eggs.. oh, and dye eggs.
But whatever :P
AND OH MY GOODNESS no more kumos?! I'm.. YAY.
SQUEEAAAALS
GUYS!!! So today at lunch the insurance company called, and said the bank wanted the home owners insurance policy, which I had not actually activated yet - so the insurance company was asking permission to activate it and send it to the bank. Umm heck yes - because surely that mean the mortgage is going to go through?? SO then after I got home, the bank called!! YES!!! She is going to try and set up a closing date for Wednesday morning!!! Whooooo!!!!!!
YAYYY KAT OMG! I'm so happy for you! I know this has been the plan for a few years now, AHHHHH!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Amazing! A hearty congratulations from my side too! :D That's only five days away, woohoo!
So Kat.. new job, mortgage in your name..
Basically all your up in the air things have calmed down! That's got to be exciting!
Guys I emptied out a box that has apparently been sitting directly in my way in the sunroom since AUGUST. Have I learend anything from this? Probably not. :/
Also cut a vine-y thing out of the lilac bushes and pulled that all out of them while Alex was burning the trash when he got home..
I cleaned the washing machine last night after Iz and I did our laundry, so I wiped that down this morning before work. Came home and cleaned off the dryer (There's again, been stuff since IDK, October?! sitting on top of there!), cleaned the toilet and cleared off thes ink and then wiped that down.
And Iz and I picked a few random things up from around the house.
Tomorrow.. I'm going into the closet to see if the easter eggs are in there, and if not.. out to the sunroom to try and find the damned things. I'm kind of terrified of that room, though :P
Thank you Berry!!!
Mieke - Well, they are settling down anyway. I need it all finalized for me to say its calmed down LOL But yes, I do feel some relief from the stress/anxiety of it all being up in the air and unknown.
Just had dinner. Guess it could be considered celebratory. It was steak :P The good steak too, ribeye. And Nathan didn't even burn it :P (Last time he burnt mine).
Trying to find plastic easter eggs I hope. :P Not real boiled ones sitting in your sunroom hahahaha I have all mine in the middle room (which the appraiser listed as a "utility room" LOL Guess because it didn't have a bed and had all the storage boxes? :P AND the litter box in there. He didn't even include a picture of it in the appraisal papers.
Thanks for reminding me though, I need to go get out the collapsable "easter" baskets in case some kids forget to bring theirs. I let them use those, then bring them home again (I hvae like 4 of them, sports/holiday style. I have trick or treat ones like that too)
Oooh, that's a good celebratory dinner!
Alex, Iz and I had steak tips with mashed potatoes.. and carrots and zucchini. Sooooo yummy. And london broils are fairly cheap so like.. so good.
Yes, plastic eggs haha. And I need to dig up the baskets, too. I think we mostly have plastic bucket types now..
I have three types - small wire ones, plastic half-egg shaped ones, and bucket shaped ones. Though one of my bucket shaped ones is missing. its green. I'm wondering if I threw it away last year, because I took those to school to let kids borrow them that didn't have their own bucket for the egg hunt and I vaguely remember it being nasty and so maybe I trashed it since I only have 2 of them now. And then I have one other of the cheap-o bucket types (the other two are like, flower petal edged). I reuse them all the time for my kids Easter baskets. The flower buckets were green, pink and orange, the green one is gone. The egg shaped ones are blue and pink (two blue). And the wire ones are purple, green and blue.
Dinner tonight is baked ziti frozen meal. With meatballs and marinara. Wish I had some french bread to go with it. Oh well. Shane isn't eating with us, and even though he came home, he left again, so I have no idea when he'll be back....Guess I should text him and find out. :P
I looooove ziti!
Cleaned the sunroom today, found the eggs.. and lots of other really gross stuff >.<
Spent some time outside too, which was nice!
And made a carrot cake for Sunday, which.. was probably a bad idea because now I just really want to eat cake >.<
Mieke I think there's no shame in finally getting around to a box that was waiting for months. You did it now! That's awesome. And if you didn't do it earlier, I'm sure past you had reasons for that too (and yes, in my opinion "I did not feel like it" absolutely counts as a valid reason). Also ergh that cleaning you did today sounds unpleasant D:
Baked ziti sounds nice! And so does carrot cake! Love me a good carrot cake, mmmh.
I was busy today! Cat had a (for her) embarrassing litter box accident so I vacuumed, mopped, and steam cleaned. The cat may have been the motivating factor but I did a lot more than just clean up after her, so the floors look nice! And I also spent some time, some of it parallel to cleaning, trying to download a new operating system onto my computer - I want to switch from Windows to Linux, but today I failed! Seems like the issue was my USB stick. The amount of headache and trying to troubleshoot myself was a lot today, but I do like messing with computer stuff - not an expert by any means at all, but understanding what I did wrong and then fixing it is very satisfying. So let's hope a new USB stick will fix it, because if it doesn't, I'm out of ideas haha :P
Good luck with the computer issues! I.. am not a fan of working on computers, so more power to you! AND for cleaning the floors! That's a job that I hate doing, but it always feels so good once it's done, right?!
El decided to run out and pick up pizzas for dinner, so I gave them $10 and asked them to pick up more cream cheese, too... I'll make cheesecakes tomorrow for Easter, and then we can just.. eat the cake. :P
I'm not big on computer swaps either. If I don't already know how to use it, I don't want to learn hahaha. I will if I have to, but if I have something that already works, and I know how to use it, leave me alone!! I am a bit nerved about using the smart board in kindergarten, I know some of the teachers use it in different ways. I'll have to learn some of that and see what helps me teach best.
Carrot cake is pretty good. I am a devils food choco-holic though. My neighbor did bake some oatmeal cookies and gave me some. Yum!! :D With chocolate chips in them, my fave (though I'll eat any type of oatmeal cookies) I sadly didn't have any milk.
And Nathan/Dollar General has strawberry stuff!! I saw a picture online a week or two ago but Nathan said they didnt' have it yet. Now I told him to buy me some of it for my Easter basket hahahah I told him I'd give hime $20 and he can pick the stuff out for me. ITS SO CUTE!!! There are even gnomes with strawberry hats/clothes giggles Looks like a salt/pepper shaker, as well as decor, cups and towels.... I used to be a HUGE Strawberry Shortcake fan (the character)...and I do still love strawberries. Very spring-y too!!
Edit: Oh wow. Ok then. Bank literally called as I finished typing. So, she told me, as the numbers stand, I could get back $2100 but the loan/bank only would allow me to get back $2000 max, so how did I want to reduce the amount? I could pay some towards principal, all of it towards principal or reduce the loan amount and get a smaller amount back? I chose that option, because, heck, I could use an extra $1000 or so. So, we dropped the loan to $41000 financed and I'll get back like $1100 -ish cash. That'll pay off all my wedding trip expenses and then some! :P
Ooooh, I love oatmeal chocolate chip cookies! Devils food though.. enh, I could take it or leave it :P I don't really like dark chocolate things, and that's kind of where it ends up :P
And that sounds so cute, Kat! They had some pastel-ghost things this summer and I LOVED them, they're really stepping up the cuteness!
That's so true, it's definitely better when it's done :P but cleaning floors is a chore I kinda like! I find the process very satisfying as well haha. I'd much rather vacuum than do the dishes. I don't know what my problem is with dishes even but it's something I don't like to do at all! :D
Mmmh yum, cheesecake! I picked up cream cheese too, but I used it for a one-pot pasta recipe instead - never made cheesecake before. Is it hard to do?
No, I think it's a fairly easy dessert to make! Especially once I gave up on the springform pans and worrying about cracking.. now I just do a simple pie crust one, and it cooks faster too, so much less worry about cracking.
I got 3 morty cards today! But then didn't get to do a single one of Alexanders quests on kumos so. Meh.
Oh my goodness, I HATE the dishes! Like, I like the process of everything going from super gross to squeaky clean, but I hate the sauces and whatever grossness on them.
I edited - not sure if ya'll saw the bit about the bank :P
Chores are no fun. I don't like doing any of them. But I prefer vacuuming over mopping. And laundry over dishes. It is quite satisfying once its all done.
OMG I FORGOT TO COOK DINNER - I got wrapped up in my schoolwork. I was adding pictures and writing out my strengths/weaknesses!
