Yeahhh.. here everything is just mud LOL. So much mud. And death. :P
I can't wait to see flowers start to pop up!
Unfortunately.. it's still snowing :P
Naaah Mieke - you showed me all the snow had melted!! :P Yes....things are beginning to grow here. Even though we are having a cold snap. It dropped back into the 30s. Brrr. We had hit 80 earlier this week. Sheeesh. Bipolar weather much? Yep. That is Georgia for you!
I prefer snow. I love watching it fall. I like seeing it on the ground. It does not leave huge giant mud puddles (not here anyway) LOL
Yes! I'm so excited, nervous and happy....but will overthink EVERYTHING about it all until its over and done. I have really been leaning towards NO kindergarten and staying in PreK - but honestly, the actual reality is - I need the job. PreK is MY jam - but Kinder isn't horrible. I would enjoy it. I just think I would enjoy PreK more - but I have the knowledge that in 2-3 years at least ONE of the PreK spots will open and I can apply to move back to PreK at that point - if I stay at my school in the kinder spot. The other bonus points are for - I already know the school, routines and procedures and rules, I know the staff - so I know the kinder teachers and paras, as well as everyone else around school (custodians, admin, cafeteria etc). So staying at the school would be a bonus against going somewhere that I may not know anyone at all, but being in PreK. The other big bonus is the families. I LOVE getting siblings. And while I won't get the siblings who are entering PreK - if I stay, I could get them in Kinder the year after. I have so many family relationships and have at least 5 siblings going to start PreK this upcoming fall. I would so miss seeing all MY babies and their siblings/family if I left my school.
Kiss List
Active Participants
Inactive Friends (Have not yet participated in the event that I can tell or have not been online recently)
That totally makes sense! Following your students seems very rewarding! Totally makes sense that you'd overthink as well. Job interviews are tough, there is a lot at stake. I'll be on the board more now that the kissing is almost over, and so you'll have an audience if you need to vent, promise! :P
Snow is beautiful. I love it a lot, but I do not love the cold. Spring is my jam! I used to love Summer the most but honestly it's been getting too hot for my liking, so at this point I prefer Spring.
Mud and death sounds bleak indeed. Kind of fitting for Survival, hah! :D
I have kids that I never even had come into my room and tell me good morning and get hugs. Partly from seeing them in car rider, partly because we have a sibling of one of their classmates, partly because of the work I did at the daycare last semester....I'd miss those kids too (well some of them, the ones I've gotten to know a bit more than the others who just pop in and say hi, give hugs and leave - I don't even know some of their names!!) But yes. I love watching my kids grow. I am STILL shocked at this one boy. I had him in Kinder 10 years ago, he is high school now - but his baby sister is in PreK (sadly I didn't get her, but I did have the younger now in 5th grade brother too!) and I see that boy from kinder and am like :o THAT is that boy? NOOOO - I literally was like staring at him, looking at his mom, motioning to kinder height and looking back at him with a :o face and she was like YEAH!! :o ITS HIM!!
Children growing up is wild indeed! Even though we've all grown through the school years as well - and I remember at the time, I found it strange when adults would tell me "I knew you when you were only thiiis tall" haha!
Kids appreciate a good teacher, that's for sure!
If he hadn't been with his mom, I probably never would have realized who he was. Now, other kids, yes they've grown up, but I can still recognize their features. he just changed so much, it was unreal.
I can't believe my own youngest will be 20 this year. We were reading a book the other day and the kids asked why it looked strange, so we said, well its an old book, it was published in ..... (we looked to see). 2006. Wow that was a long time ago (WAIT!!! THAT WAS THE YEAR OUR KIDS WERE BORN!!) eek. How is that possible?
I do love that they all come in and say hi and get hugs. It makes me happy. But also cracks me up since I don't know these kids at all really!!
Haha, wow! Good thing his mom was with him then, else you simply would not even have known. He must have changed a lot!
And honestly, that's so cute! :D Even not knowing the kids, the fact that they're coming up to you like this! And sometimes it doesn't take much to have a relatonship with the little ones, which is also nice in a way.
How have you enjoyed your first holiday with subeta? I bet you are glad I warned you about all the glitches and craziness eh?
Vesnali is the next holiday. Floating flowers, gift them to people from their profile (or links like the kisses) - get coins to use at Esthers shop. Cinthia gives out flowers for her quests too. You can also use the flowers to create wearable bouquets or give to Esther for extra coins.
I do wonder what, if anything will be different about it, with kumos added in....
Oh, I had a lot of fun! Survival was a blast! Some of the zombie skins are unpleasant (holes and growths and boils, oh my... I don't love that!), but others are cute or weird but fun :D and of course the kissing mechanics! A blast. It ate up my Subeta time for sure, I've been neglecting my questing a lot, but overall felt worth it. Limited time only after all!
Also looking at the backlog of zombie skins, it'll take me years to catch up and collect them all! All good though, I like a longterm goal.
Definitely appreciated the warning of course - it was a bumpy ride at times. Poor Keith! But it was nice to read that Legacy got an upgrade and a lot of added stability. Now the move to Kumos is less urgent, as I've understood it.
I'm excited for Vesnali too, because I have seen some items and ahhhh those wearables are SO cute, I need them! Can't wait to see how Kumos changes the equation. When you mention floating flowers, are they similar to the ones for the memorial?
Yes, they float like those ones did. Obviously different names. These are like "white poppies" "purple handful of daisies" "orange zinnia" "blue lotus" etc. I'm sure there is a list on subetalodge.
That is one reason why I wonder how it will be different...because he took down the floating flowers for the memorial. No one knows why!! But Vesnali literally runs off of floating flowers. If they don't float, how do we get them!! ?? :P
Zombie skins is a good goal. Its one of mine. I am down to needing just three more years worth of skins!! I have no idea why I decided to collect them. I never wear them. There isn't an achievement for them. I guess its just a goal I chose and decided to complete LOL I do like to collect things. Zombie skins is basically a collection for me I guess.
Subeta is full of things to collect, and I love collecting. You could say Subeta can be a collectathon (like a marathon, but for collecting :) ) and hell yeah, I love that! I'm right there with you.
Skins do feel like an extension of something to collect for the wardrobe, who doesn't like to see all skins as unlocked?? That's just neat! I know people can play Subeta without collecting things but for me every collection I get into adds to the site :D
And very true... I trust that there will be added options to collect flowers if the floating ones aren't going to be floating around, but I guess we will see! Flower fields which we can go pick, maybe?
Yep. I'm always on a questathon LOL I do miss when they did that for an activity - gave us prizes and everything for certain amounts of quests completed..... But I try to do my quests every day. All of them. I get so disappointed when I have to quit a kumos quest. I wish I'd been one of the 5% of testers for the bonus stuff on kumos quests :P
And yes. I'm a collector. I don't keep things I don't WANT though, but since the skins are in a part of the wardrobe like hair or skin color I don't have to go there and see them unless I want to.
Oh that does sound like fun, being rewarded for number of quests completed! I suppose in a way that is done for Kumos quests, which give a little bit of CSC for number of quests completed, but having it on Legacy quests would be a plus for sure.
I hope you get to see the bonus stuff on Kumos soon! Maybe as a tester or maybe when it's opened to all.
And I am currently collecting things I don't want, for the wardrobe achievements, but one cannot be too choosy to collect 15'000 pieces of wearables haha :P
No indeed. You cannot be choosy when doing the wardrobe achievements. I had so much stuff in there when I did it. I was so happy to shove it all in my shop and make millions LOL
edit: 305pm I just finished cleaning out the vacuum (omg so much hair wrapped around the spinner brush!!) - I also blew out all the loose dirt with the air compressor and banged the dirt out of the foam filter. And then I vacuumed the livingroom. Gross. Nathan has not done it in quite a while. So. Much. Dog. Fur. Ugh. I also plan to vacuum the hallway and my bedroom/closet. Then later, the spare room (shanes room). And I plan to make Nathan clean up his room and vacuum it too - before the inspection. And I think I will make him sweep and mop, since he can do that at freaking midnight w/o waking me up. Since he won't vacuum.
Ooooh, getting some spring cleaning done, Kat! Good job!
We did storytime at the library this morning.. well, Lily did. I moved books around on shelves that I weeded through a few weeks ago, and then I cleaned shelves, dusted, and vacuumed the library once storytime was over LOL. We got a bunch of stuff done, got the library spring cleaned, at least :P
And then we came home and made a pie, because.. it's pi day! I almost forgot! We used what we had on hand, but it was sooo good. Chocolate crust, chocolate ganache mixed with toasted coconut, coconut cream, whipped cream and then toasted coconut on top.
Izy and I went grocery shopping and walked around the park (it was 40 and sunny, but the wind was SO hard, the 'real feel' was 19 LOL. But we had fun, and caught lots of shiny scorbunnies :P) and then we came home and ate.. corned beef, carrots and onions and parsley potatoes. Because.. Tuesday is busy haha.
I didn't clean but.. tomorrow! When I plan on trying to go nowhere LOL.
Good morning from Europe and happy Sunday to all!
It's such a nice morning here. I opened my window and could hear birdsong! And traffic, but traffic is always a thing here, haha.
Mieke that pie sounds delicious for sure! That immediately gave me a pang of hunger, I often skip breakfast but with the pie story as a motivating factor, I'll get something into me. Even if it's just cereal.
Nice job on spring cleaning, everyone! (I am counting cleaning at the library for you, Mieke!) I keep on top of vacuuming for the most part (it's a chore I weirdly enjoy!) but mopping has been neglected lately in this house, so I am putting that on the list for today. I don't even mind doing it, it just requires a bit more setup than grabbing the vacuum and getting started hah :P
I would much rather vacuum than mop!! I am debating stealing my neighbors electronic mop thing. Its like a vacuum, plugs in, but has mop pads that are washable, and is like the swiffers, it sprays out water mixed with washing liquid to clean the floor. But I use pinesol and I have this huge bottle of generic stuff right now I need to use....last time I borrowed her mop thing, I loved it, but i also felt it stayed too wet - I had to wring the pads out to soak up the rest of the water on the floor. Maybe I used the sprayer too much? I sprayed (lightly) pinesol on my floor, and then just sprayed water out of her machine to rinse/wash with.... It did clean my floor nicely, other than me feeling the need to rinse/wring the mop pads out. And I'm not sure it was less work than the mop/bucket - just less MOPPING effort for sure!!
Its supposed to drop to 30 tonight and tomorrow night. Brrrrr. With highs only up to 40s and 50s. Then slowly warm up again. Brrrr.
ughhh yes, I need to mop today, too!
It's supposed to be 46 today, which is nice! Still a severe wind warning, though.. tomorrow will be warm, then back to highs in the 30s. :( I knowwwww that Spring doesn't come until the very end of April but it's still disappointing haha.
... I ate a piece of pie and a handful of cashews for breakfast :P
OH! I almost forgot!

Ooh lucky you! I keep forgetting to check BHH. I need to start up again.
I've been working on lesson plans. Verifying I have all the learning songs we use, making sure I didn't repeat too many movement songs, and finishing up adding songs (changing them, as I copied an entire complete lesson plan and am editing it for the new letter of the week for the last two weeks).... Then I still have to add the books I chose, add the GELDS and add the small group stuff for the last week. And then type up the "instructions" which really aren't something I have to do, but I felt it was appropriate, and my lead teacher agreed it was a good idea - because its for our high school student, as well as we are supposed to be prepared if a sub comes in, they could look at our lesson plans and teach what we would. So small group instructions made sense to me. :P Plus it gave my professor better idea of what my small groups were vs just "sight word activity" which was all that was listed on the lesson plans LOL
sooo close to being done. I am so ready to be done. I know I'll have a lot of work to do to create lesson plans for next year - but after that I can keep them all and just adjust them!!! Or - if I am in kindergarten, well. I'll figure that out then. How to create lesson plans like this to keep me on track for THAT curriculum.
